Asteroid 2011 MD found in Stellarium 26th June 2011

2011 MD is right now at it's closest distance which is 1.016 AU. It will remain at this distance until July 8th and then it will gradually get further away from earth.

I was also able to locate comet elenin in the Leo constellation. Thank you for providing the instructions on importing the neos and such :)

No problem.So Elenin is "NOW" in the system,lol,wow,I couldnt get that before no matter how many times I tried,so the only other way was to edit the stellarium system file and insert the co-ordinates,good hear hear its in there now,should make it easy for new users.But if it isnt they can always edit the Ssystem.ini file in the system folder to incorporate and it will still work.

@TheFifaJay Yep, the strange thing is that it looked like there was something 'flying' around it, it looked like a white mist. I don't know. Maybe because its travelling and it was suppose to be its tail or something. I was glad to have found it!

Space weather . com has a few good links on this event, although no update on the incoming CME due at orbital correction with my Earth between 23.oohrs. UTC coming under from the southwest and slung in front over the north pole to the east at about 14.oohrs UTC in a mild orbital boost with substantial orbital path change.

No problem,but you may need to edit the ssystem.ini file if you want to locate "Elenin" and 1 or 2 more objects on a seperate matter.Will show you how to do this when you settle in with the program.

THAT doesn't look like any asteroid! Its perfectly round. Is this just some standard image the program uses for asteriods? And if it is suppose to pass by us tomorrow, why does it look like the system had to go so far deep into space to locate it? Very strange imo.

2011 MD close encounter with my Earth's gravity shall alter the asteroid's trajectory; integrity remains undetermined & breakup is NOT ruled out nor Asteroid oblation within Earths orbital path. If Only we had the ability to know to look within, and perhaps even the ability to nudge the interloper along; as the many craters will attest to past course corrections. Even a good ship could be deployed to do such; if only one's ship was good ?

Menú desplegable, seleccione la opción segunda llamada NEA

Asteroides Cercanos a la Tierra.

Localizar desde el desplazamiento hacia abajo y de importación.

Ahora debería ser capaz de localizar
