It seems like the G940 system is a bit like the sidestick of an airbus, which is just what I am looking for. It looks like it would be perfect for those turbulent and windy landings because of the stellar feedback the joystick gives (vibrations, etc.)
why cant it be like the good old days when you had a controller, where throttle was X ,moving was anolog stick , landing gear was O, reverse was square, and rudders were R1, L2 or whatever
@allegiant347 of course, this kind of stuff is really expensive :P arcade-style flight sims played with gamepads are a ton of fun for the money, usually.
can you tell me how can i fix the throttle? i get like 90% of thrust at full throttle in the G940 . and how do i get reverse thrust on G940? PLEASE RESPOND!!!
and the joystick, theres like always the joystick try to battle with me , by that i mean like always trying to fly on its own
@FSProduction154 Thats the force feedback of the joystick. It simulates the turbulence or the knocking of the joystick while flying as of you would experience in flying a real plane. I have G27 which is for racing games that also has force feedback which simulates rough roads and feel of the tires.
$299 worth of game controller.....and he still! can't land. Lovely home setup though. Two more monitors and it will be perfect. Just promise us that you will practise those landings eh! The rest of us tend to find that landing on the wheels usually prevents the fireball mushroom cloud at the end of your vid. :)
stands corrected. It is F15..... I didn't pay enough attention to details........ Yeah F15 is not provided in the original FSX or the Acceleration AddOns pack. Gotta get it separately.
The fact that there isn't a yoke available for this system indicates to me that this product is something of a toy aimed for the amusement market rather than an item that can be regarded as a useful tool for more serious simulation applications. Frequent reports of problems and the general unreliablity of this system tend to support my assertion.
@supermec131 VRS F/A-18E Superbug is AMAZING graphics are the best you will ever see, 100% accurate cockpit, the sounds are VERY accurate, and you can launch ordinants from your jet
just wanted to chime in saying that force feedback is not necessarily crucial. I have used force feedback, and I find that you usually lose a bit of precision, both because the joystick is moving so much (although this can be fun) and because the thing centers in a different way (I suppose it's mechanical as opposed to spring-based, or somesuch). I got an x52 + some old ch pedals for about 220$
You have to know exactly what you are looking for, in short. Any hotas+ pedals setup is sick IMO.
no Microsoft Flight Simulator (apart from the combat series) allows aircraft damage, simply the dreaded "Crash" writing on the screen and reload to last airport landed at wish there was proper damage models though =( would be interesting to see if i can land a 737 with just one and a half wings xD
i mean there is no flight simulator from microsoft that allows damage ^^ not visible anyway, i once had an engine overstress and cause a fire though badly rendered, i want to get X-Plane soon - proper scenery thats free and small downloads as you only need to download a bit at a time ^^ plus you can simulate flight with only one wing (ie: clip a building and watch your beloved 737 spiral to the ground) ^^
How are you going to mod the stick to the f-18 stick? That stick is very close to the F-16 real stick. I have friend of mine that is a US airforce piolt and he said it looks pretty close to the real F-16 that he flies. Pretty good for a toy thats for sure was his words. I prefer the f18 as well but how can you mod that?
yep - i've got the oldest version (trackIR 1), I've got the reflective dot on a piece of card taped to some string I tie round my head. All the newer ones have much better solutions, ie hats with a thing on the brim, or something which clips to your headphones. You can also turn TrackIR on and off completely with a keypress in-game.
I think Logitech screwed up ergonomy. Especially the stick. I'll probably try to mod this one to real F-18 grip which is IMHO much better then original Logitech design.
how many USB connects does it need? I'm assuming it uses it's own DC power supply? Looks really nice, the throttle control is what sets it apart I think. Not many dual engine throttle sets out there.
Just hope you get one of the good (early) Cougars. Ever since that other company took over, the quality of the Cougar has dropped considerably. Unless you have +500 bucks to buy an after-market mod kit (after the 250 for the stick/throttle) DON'T BOTHER. I have a Cougar. I want something else.
He leído que bueno y he visto que nuevo vale 200€.
@crim3cost Yeah and do you know why you can buy this less than 300... Its because its a crapy joystick with alot of problems and defekt buttons. I love logitech got alot of stuff from them but this stick is not good.
@supramk3killen Yes, a year later it seems that the g940 hasn't been up to the expectations. I've been lucky I had all I needed before the g940 was realeased so I didn't buy it.
