I am currently experiencing my FIRST cold in 20 years....I've been on & off again raw in the last 2 years....on & off really messes with any state of health you have. It sux, cuz I NEVER got
"colds/flus" when they came around.....some peeps believe in healing crisis, some believe in dehydration (the Science), & maybe it's a freakin bug (the myth), I believe it's my green smoothies, over worked, under watered, shared a hug & a breath with those who were sick.
just ran across this video and i think you've got some great ideas and i'll surely look into ginger.. i keep sickness away with garlic.. garlic and onion both can absorb toxins through the air.. i just leave some garlic out and throw it away when it gets gross.. i keep it above my fridge too so no one notices that its there
When I had the flu, I made green juices out of spinach and ginger ALONE. I plugged my nose and gulped them down. They REALLY helped my arthritis pain more than anything else...I didn't need to take my meds for my whole flu which was wonderful. If you don't prevent an illness you're at least doing something highly beneficial for your body by ingesting ginger. Anything anti-inflammatory is gonna be great for your body. Thanks for the funny and informative video, as always. :)
Was just drinking a glass of green juice with lots of Ginger as I watched this video. Ginger is good stuff! Since going raw, haven't had any cold or flu issues. When I used to have those episodes however, I would blend a peeled grapefruit and a peeled orange with a little water and powdered vitamin C. Some Ginger in that blend probably would have been awesome as well. Cheers!
goldenseal root in a shot of warmish water. it is magic and cures ALL body invaders. sometimes i'll put it in some ginger tea too. tastes AWFUL and bitter, but my body thanks me later :)
eating raw garlic is what I do. Before I go to sleep so I don't stink to anyone until the morning. Drop garlic to a cup of hot milk if you want to reduce the odor.
I remember not catching flue while I was cycling to Uni. 15-20 minutes, sometimes below zero Celsius - that kept me resistant. Now I commute to work by car :-( .
@kswiatlo LOL. Just randomly caught your comment and had to do a double-take. Not to hate or anything, but that sounds positively nasty!!!! Garlic milk!!! :) I sincerely hope it helped you!! :) I know garlic has it's benefits but as a vegan and someone who spends hours researching nutrition, of course I have my personal doubts about milk. I totally agree with you about exercise though. Take care and have a wonderful day, sorry if I sounded mean or anything, just was reacting :)
great stuff!!! personally I find staying off meat and dairy products and consequently having a clean colon/a good probiotic balance in my colon to be enough to stay off flu's or colds... but WOW! Ginger root is a massive parasite/virus slayer =) I like garlic aswell for that but Ginger is really the king of parasite cleansing... Thanks man!! Stay well! Greetings from Sweden!! PEACE
I'm almost 100% raw now, but before that, when I would feel a cold coming on, I would get right the hell away from dairy and ALL forms of sugar. That ginger tea sounds intriguing though.
I make a pot of ginger & Dilmah Ceylon black tea every single day at lunch time or for breakfast - been doing this for years now.
I thinly slice about 1 1/2 inches of ginger and let it steep for at least 5-10 minutes and also add pure Australian Bush honey. The flowers in Oz are very potent, so their nectar adds an extra healing dimension.
If anyone drinks ginger tea for at least two weeks, it completely smooths out your skin and pushes all the crap out of your body.
