  • Wie heisst "something bad" auf deutsch?? Ich kenne einen der mal Doctor Dillamond gespielt hat aber ich finde denn song auf youtube niergends xD

What's "something bad" called in german?? I know the guy that played Doctor Dillamond in the german cast. but I can't find it on youtube, because i don't know the name xD

  • @musicangel92 "Nichts ist mehr geheuer."

  • i always wnated to see this musical and i saw wicked in oberhausen this week, I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

  • Why is it that alot of musicals sound better in German? lol.

It's true for this, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dance of the Vampires, etc.

  • You are right with some productions, especially with Dance of the vampires!

The original language of this musical is german but the Americans could have done an English one as good as the original! but they destroyed it when MC played such a ridiculous count and they added strange songs and didnt stick to the story!

I'm glad such things didnt happen to Wicked any language^^

  • Michael crawford pretty much butchered Vampires. It came out as what I call "The Phantom of the Opera's imbred child"

  • Haha,

I think its a shame, because the original Dance of the vampires is such a great musical and it could have been a success on broadway...but not in this version =(

  • @KarpfenKarpfen but this is wicked...?

  • @Lilithly

I know that this is Wicked xDDD

My comment was just an answer to OohcoolProductions' comment about Musicals sounding better in german and Micheal crawford ruining Dance of the Vampires.

I agree it didn't have anything to do with Wicked :)

  • @KarpfenKarpfen ah, sorry xD i agree with you, though:) dance of the vampires needs another chance on broadway.

  • @Lilithly

    I totally agree :)

  • @OohcoolProductions good question but you have also good musical songs in english.I like the english version of no one mourns the wicked or total eclipse of the heart =) lovely greets from germany^^

  • LOVE IT!!!!!

  • I saw Wicked three times now.

Last year 2x in Stuttgart with Willemijin and Lucy (I live 200km/125 miles away from Stuttgart) and this year on Broadway in New York.

I have to say both casts are great! ;-)

  • What an AMAZING voice!

  • Was one year ago there. Fantastically!

  • Elphaba is always played by such beautiful women! :D

    XD

  • True!

  • Or maybe its the fact that they are playing Elphaba that makes them beautiful?

    haha xD

  • OMG. I need this song! :O

And the original cast. But I can't find it online for free. :O

  • Its best to just buy the cd.

  • Yeah.

you probably aren't going to be able to find it anywhere online for free, and it may be hard to find at all if you live in the US.

but if you buy it, it would be worth the trouble.

The german cast is AMAZING....at least, I think so.

    :)

  • You can get it online if you're clever...but I prefer the original CD anyway. I got it online, but I went out and bought the 5th anniversary CD today, even though at $20 it's a good $5 more than I've EVER paid for a CD, but it's worth it!

  • what is japanese-boq doing in 2:10? is he crying or shouting, or laughing...?

(and who was the actor who played him in the japanese cast?)

  • Yawning perhaps? I don't really know.

    The actor is Nobuhiko Kanada.

  • Hello again!! lol ok I'm traveling to Europe this summer and part of the travel is visiting Germany! I am begging to God that we get to see the Wicked show in Germany, and if not at least get the soundtrack!!!!! omg please pray for this LMAO....!!!!!

  • You bet I'll pray for you!

Remember you can take a train to Stuttgart!

  • lol I can sing along to this even though I speak, like, no German.

  • me 2.

that's no fair: there are pictures of the japanese cast, but almost none of the german cast. i'm not happy

  • Yes. Its a lot less confusifying, and it has a much better and pleasing tone and plot. Also, the weird sexual things are not present. The book is good, don't get me wrong, but the musical is MUCH better.

  • I agree 100000000%

  • Yes, I recall that. But I prefer the musical.

  • Haha I love the musical and the book, the book actually is my favorite book right now. But I feel the musical is far superior.

  • Yes. My thoughts exactly.

  • yeah. I mean I felt the book could have incorporated more from the Wizard of Oz to tie it in more, like the musical did. And the sex stuff was NOT needed. I actually have an Oz book idea myself, like Wicked, a re-vision of the Oz. Also are you German? Shatner sounds like German or something.

  • LOL. I'm not German. I'm American. And I might as well explain the name...

There was a movie called "Over the Hedge" in which William Shatner, of "Star Trek" fame, played an over-dramatic possum. From that day on, I realized that shatnerpossum would be a great screen name. So I snaffled it.

  • hAHA!! oh gosh ok thanks I feel soo dorkish. for some reason a "possum" also sounds so German. And I heard about "over the Hedge" but never saw it. Is it super good? Like really worth seeing? So you must like it alot?

  • LOL. It is a very great film. Amazing societal commentary, and great talent. Truly a must see.

  • HEY OK cool. LOL I also thought of something funny. I seem to be really into BOTH the German and English versions of Wicked. Is this you to? I have no doubt you also probably like to semi-shout "Wicked! Wicked! Wickeeeeed!" lol, like me. haha sometimes I say "Hexen" instead! and i'm even learning a few German phrases from the musical.

  • LOL. I'm ahead of you on the German...

Sometimes I find myself singing "Nur Ein Tag" or singing along to DG in German.

  • HAHAHA well I'm still not able to sing any entire song in German, only parts of them!

  • To be honest, I'm in the same boat. But you'll pick up Frei und Schwerelos very quickly.

  • Its a nice touch. But we expect these things of such a quality show.

  • Already done my friend! Its my video labeled "Wicked in German" Feel free to check out my channel.

  • I saw Megan Hilty and Caissie Levy in LA! They were great!

  • I saw Caissie when I went for my first time, but not Megan. Caissie is the best though, PERFECT cackle.

  • me too, i saw her for my first also. I love her defying gravity, with her high tone voice. She's excellent.

  • Yup. Its a shame she can't do the role anymore. But I'm hoping they'll bring her in for the movie.

  • i like the effort you put to do this wonderful videos,,

and im wondering,, how and where did you get the pictures of the japanese production?? i like those too!!!

  • Thanks!

I found the Tokyo cast pics on the Wicked Tokyo website.

  • Hey, du you need some wicked pictures from the german cast??

  • *lool* the tokio fiyero looks like daniel radcliffe^^

  • I like this Elphaba but I think Idina Menzel is the best...^-^

  • I think that one goes without saying! But Willemijn Verkaik is excellent. She's on the same level as Idina and Kerry.

  • Yeah I guess your Right!

  • Guess or know? I'll just let Willemijn's singing speak for itself. Wait until I post a video for "Frei Und Schwerelos"!

  • I just think, idina is the original and so, she is in a specialy way teh best elphaba, but I like roberta Valentini more than any elphabactor =]

  • Original always has special significance. But which cast is Roberta? I haven't heard of her...

And one of my favorites is Caissie Levy. She was AMAZING!

  • Roberta is the secodn elphaba in our german cast ;)

    Oh yaaaa!! Cassie IS Amazing^^

  • Wass? Willemijn left? :(

Crap. Caissie left. Eden left. Idina left. Willemijn left. WHY?

  • No, no, no^^

Willemijn is still playing the green understudy witch^^

But in germany, we ahve also a alternaty and second elphaba ;)

and Roberta is our second elphaba ;)

But, yes, someone say, Willemijn will go.

But, why not? Look, it's 8 time in the week the same show, they have to play. :S And I think, they say to them self, it's a bit boring^^

  • Whew! You had me worried!

So is Roberta the understudy or standby? Because last time I checked, Willemijn was the primary.

  • The standby ;)

  • That's a relief. In case you didn't notice, you had me pretty worried!
