@randomvideosn0where Can't find um anywhere bro. I just found these outta fate. Got one and found the other like 1 year later. Weird cause 1 of mine now is half blow and still pounds
@jake3101 Sorry man its all about 2 BIG things. 1. Money. I'm not like some people you see on here that have money falling out of my pockets. I work all the time and support me, my wife and my little girl. Bills come before fun things and these things all cost a lot of money. Think about it. Do you have $350 just to spend on a battery that powers the very expensive equipment. 2. Weather Lately snow has come and gone and come and gone. Hard to work in 0 degree weather and snow.
@casperskafs ah no worries man, im lookin forward to seeing how it turns out, especiall as im wanting to make a box for 2 12s and it will be nice to see what those ports are like
that duct tape looks sexy on the ports :) i would say if there isn't enough room you might be able to go bigger with the ports to get the box tunned to what you want but i don't know if there is enough room or not
Hey man just my .02 but could you face the aero ports up and make the box fatter towards the back. That way you would have a little more cubic feet to work with. Plus that way the air would be able to move better out of the box. Makes sense to me anyway...
exactly boom around the hatch that is fine how it is it will send it up the hatch right at the headrests that is fine not to dog on people but soome of the people are saying cut the ports dont that will destroy the tuning of the port
im assumeing it is about 47 hz it should be fine and i hatte the window line rule haha
@402omb Yea the window line rule sux but makes sense for people with walls. I bought these ports already cut so that kinda sux but I just bought um for testers
your going to probably haft to make a few boxes bro to experiment with . Facing sub up port back usually is the loudest. sometimes sub back and port to driver side is louder. Your port/subs defiantly will sound louder when facing a more solid object. so it gets a better load. also you don't haft to mount you ports like that on the out side of the box. don't be afraid to put them inside so the box can be moved around to test in different directions. google port volume calcs for displacements
@goatskindreams Thanks for the good info man. I do plan on making a few boxes. I deff want one with subs up ports back but tuned correctly unlike this box. Also one with subs forward ports back. I've seen crx's do great with that one
@anubisprince36 No prob man. I'm excited to see a design. I have a vid for ya but I wanted to post this first because of the ports so close but I see it will be fine.
The minimum clearance is the same as the ports diameter, so 4" in your case so you should be fine. And make a testbox with the subs facing forward and ports backward. That design is good in civics. You should tune the box to around 55-60 hz if you'r going for SPL
@DanneVolvo Thats gonna be another test box / good box. I'd like to build 2 boxes. One like this only tuned and built well and also one like you say. Subs forward and ports back. I've also seen alot of people do good with that design but more in crx's
@MrLilFolks I'm still gonna test this box out for the test run of my equipment. I hate to make the aero's any shorter but I guess I could if I had to. Depends on the frequency it will make my box.
Sucks play subs damn

Ps...hook them up to your house stereo to test. I do that for break in and leak testing in more comfortable accommodations.

@Deschain420 Good thinkin.
casperskafs 1 year ago
That is enough clearance, and having them on the outside saves you internal displacement.
But if you're paying for a box, make sure that those ports are long enough for your desired tuning.
Deschain420 1 year ago
@Deschain420 I'm building a box for them. Thanks for the info

@sleepinggiant90 If the ports are up they will be way over the window line. Thanks for the info though. I like hearing any ideas.

DanneVolvo 1 year ago
@DanneVolvo not necessary to tune that high only because of a little thing called cabin gain.
anubisprince36 1 year ago
@anubisprince36 Well, the tuning has got to be right, tunit to like 30 hz and it wont be as loud.
DanneVolvo 1 year ago
@DanneVolvo very true
he is looking at tuning being around mid 40s

@casperskafs Oh, my bad! Thought you had a crx! :O Sorry about that, but they are very much the same

I can't wait to see the actual box. Good sh*t man. You should cut 3 or 4 inches off the aero ports
