  • I WAS CLASS OF 97 AND PLAYED FOOTBALL PLUS I LIVED IN THE I.E ABOUT 40-45 MINS FROM L.A AND I STILL HEARD ABOUT COTTON. ONE OF MY BOYS IS BARON'S COUSIN SO I KNEW ABOUT HIM. MY POINT IS I DIDN'T PLAY BASKETBALL OR LIVE IN L.A I KNEW WHO COTTON WAS, REALLY WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE HIM IN THE LEAGUE. ATHLETES LIKE THIS IN HIGH SCHOOL NO MATTER WHAT SPORT HAVE A LOT OF FUCKING PRESSURE ON THEM, LET THE KIDS PLAY THEN WORRY ABOUT ALL THAT OTHER STUFF IN THERE LATER COLLEGE YEARS.

  • the sound track is the very best part of this video please do not change it. what is the song?

  • fucking Yahoo!

  • Shea Cotton is the best player that never made it.

  • Shea Cotton. Mannnn he was one of the best if not THE ONE!!!!

  • i remenber schea cotton, back in high school...i cant believe he did not make it to the nba....

  • As a sophomore Cotton was one of the best high school players I've ever seen (and I've seen some of SoCal's greatest.) He didn't pass SAT's or something so he went to prep school and then Alabama for one year. Hard to believe he never made it to the league.

  • which one is the game?

  • 1:03 takes like 5 steps lol

  • The Collins Twins were in that video as well. Chris Burgess also was on that summer league team. Cali had the high school basketball scene pumpin that summer.

  • did that man just raise the roof?

  • what high school did he go to cuz i heard that he was on the same team as the game(the rapper) in high school

  • SANTA ANA MATER DEI

  • where did baron davis go not schea cotton

  • Oh sorry man, Baron attended Cross Roads School a private school in Santa Monica, CA.

  • crossroads high school. game went to compton

  • Then transferred to st john bosco. Thats why they were on the same LA (county) team in this video

  • Who are you talking about??

  • Never had an outside game. That's why nobody took him seriously. It's a shame. Another lost old-schooler.

By the way the music fits; a memory and a past.

  • I agree on both points, Cotton and the tune

  • All signs pointed to Schea Cotton being the Next Big Thing - the NCAA screwed him by declaring his SAT score invalid even though he took them and got over the required score.

He was off to play with Baron at UCLA, man, that would've been unreal. Would LOVE to know what happened to this guy.

  • Schea Cotton went to play at Texas A&M (i think) with Kareem Rush.

  • NAH LIKE OREGON OR WASHINGTON

  • Man I remember Schea Cotton when that dude was in the like the 10th grade or something him and this cat from Texas named Glendon Alexander I saw them play together back in the 90's at a ABCD camp or Nike camp, man them boys were good.

  • fukin childish

  • woah cotton has hops aye, so does baron. honestly, ive been looking at some of barons ucla videos and i never realised how high he could jump aye! btw was that one of the collins twins at the end?

  • what kind of shoes are those guys wearing they look hella tite

  • damn this song is freaking tight!! do you have any music like this!?!?

  • try hotel (2006) by Moby

  • no i can't find it...

can you give me more details?

  • the name of the song is "living"

    artist:moby

    album: animal right

    enjoy

  • song:living

    artist:moby

    album:animal right

  • Whatever happened to Cotton?

  • You have to wonder what would have happened to Schea had the NCAA allowed him to go to UCLA (invalidated his SAT scores) straight out of HS. Instead he eventually ended up at Bama, left after his sophmore year and went undrafted. He'd have looked great playing alongside Baron at UCLA.

  • this is one weird soundtrack but the footage is good... just turn the volume down and put something else on... yo theriles could you put some other kinda music over this... like some styles p. or fabolous...or even an instrumental consider it please...thank you...

  • I'm open to the idea. Email me (via YouTube) some good instrumental recommendations.

  • I played with shea at st thomas moore along with ajout deng (loul brother) and sean braid. I though he was the next jordan or soemthing. what a shame!

  • please ignore my spelling.

  • check out paul mcpherson i think the only dunk that tops his is olympic vince

  • I Played with Schea on the Mater Dei team from 94-95 .I don't understand how this guy didn't make it to the NBA.His brother is working Real Estate in Long Beach last I heard. I heaven't heard a thing about him though

  • where is shea cotton?

  • starting his own athletic apparel line in California

  • was that one of the collins twins?

  • Yep. Both of them played in this game.

  • ha was thinking of the lopez twins.btw #4 is awesome.where does he play?

  • both of u are wrong that is not one of the collins twins 1 of them is in the league the other made it but i think he might b overseas now

  • well what are their names, then?

  • Jason Collins

    Jarron Collins.

    Come out guy...

  • It is 100% the Collins twins. I was at the game.

  • siktir lan bu steps yapıyo:D

  • u know the game played on the same highschool team as baron davis, u got a vids of them playing together? bd is also the godfather of game's son

  • Schea Cotton... its been a while since i heard his name

  • one of the twins that went to stanford is also on the team(last few seconds of video). one of them plays on the nets now... im too lazy to try to remember the name.

  • Collins

  • Now you can't have waiting room music to bawla baron davis. Wat u be thinkin' boi?

  • song goes with fact that this is when they were young dork.

  • damn....Davis and Cotton was dominatin!!

  • Great vid. This makes me feel so terrible for Schea Cotton. At one time he was in SI being touted as the next big thing in basketball. Now a search for Schea at wikipedia turns up nothing. What went wrong for this kid? He seemed to have all of the things a player needs to make it in the league yet now he is just an unknown to many fans.

  • what song is this?

  • Nice video, music could be better for some Cali ballers

  • Man Baron had a massive leap in highschool! that backboard dunk was nasty

  • that last dunk was schea. best player talent-wise to ever play at mater dei. kid was unreal...

  • how long ago was this?

  • 1997

  • schea cotton was the man in high school
