  • Very well done

  • Good work! - I'll use this as inspiration in my 9th grade science class.

  • can u you help me make one like that

  • great the next engineer!!! can u list the materials u used to made the wind turbine, please!!!

  • That kid obviously didn't build that -.-" someone built it for him

  • AND great some dude awesome project u are special i dont gave the brain to build that :) keep the good work up

  • YO guys i am in 7 grade and i am building a no powered wind mill u just put a fan and make it spin but dont know how to put the wings so they can spin fast :) plz help

  • hey pls tell me how you did the motor:D i would really appreciate it:D

  • sweet job little man.....im 49 and just starting into wind/solar.. pay no mind to negative feedback....and keep up the great work....you can achieve anything you set out to do as long as you put in the work .

  • how to do this?

  • i just made mine! looks kinda like it. has some improvements also its very simple to build!

    took like 30 min!

  • i like the idea of using a plastic bottle for blades very simple! i will make one for myself

  • 0:04 pause and check below the name you can see the name of the website he has bought it from haha

  • How many volts could it generate?

  • Brilliant, 5th grade? Thats like 10 or something ye? Im seriously impressed with that.

  • It's a simple build (I'm 15), but for him to build it in fifth grade?! Major kudos. I had no interest in science in fifth grade!

  • That is pretty cool... I think I will try to build it.

  • cool project, any plans to build another?

  • :).. i liked it...

  • wow,and i'm need now that generator ;) i'm gonna make that.

  • I have some desert land and it's right below the mountains, I was just thinking how something like this could be used to keep flies and mosquitoes away! Just a thought! Keep up the creations, And thanks for sharing.

  • how much did this cost and where did you get the parts

  • @ashtymen My son made it Jackass! %th grade science project. It's a model of a wind generator. He use an erector set, DC motor, pvc, and other recycled parts. Too bad you are too ignorant to build something like that!

  • @smclane6

i cant believe how rude and how big of a jackass people can be......tell your son good job :D

  • @ashtymen that was a dick move

  • @ashtymen Hey man it takes kids like that to make a difference for idiots like you. One day you might be paying this boy for the use of his power. How old are you? you sound like your 2 or 3 years old, grow up. Makes me mad to see people like you bash kids for trying to make something of their lives besides wasting it away. Thumbs up from me to your son smclane6. Great job and keep it up.

  • @ashtymen you're an idiot. the most basic aspect of a wind generator lets it move to always be parallel to the wind.

  • Great Job Kiddo.

    Keep it up.

  • Hey man sweet project i just have one question where did you get the generator/motor? If you could tell me that it would be greately appreciated

  • It was a PM motor from an old printer. A stepper motor will produce more voltage, but sometimes hard to turn. You can use any DC PM motor from old toy or just about anything. Test with volt meter and turn by hand, if see couple of volts then will work ok for small wind application. Good luck.

  • @smclane6 from an old printer? They have motors?

  • @ilovedonghaeandsiwon

    of course man, it's a machine. :)

  • hey did u get a gold riben im trying 2 find a science fair prodject

  • very cool

  • bravo.

  • good job little man....keep it up

  • What small generator did you use to make your wind turbine?

Where can I buy one and who makes it?

  • @64298 really yo ucan use any DC eletric moater :p doesnt have to be labeled generator.

  • @tjinga2u1 I just made my own setup and it works

    Many thanks

  • @tjinga2u1 yes they have the same principles but dont quote me on this, but i think the generator creates more power. it just seems logical

  • Good job Justin , keep experimenting on wind turbines cause your future needs them.

See mine on joebriffa60 ,,, I used stepping motors for the job.

    Well done Justin

  • you know for people that want to do this type of thing small motors can be found in vcrs. pulleys larger and smaller with belts can be found inside them also this was a nice little project youve done. good work

  • do you know about wind turbines,i have a question could you build a small turbine and have it put out the same power as a large one

  • well, voltage can be boosted up with a small transformer but if one wants to turn a large motor you need large turbine blades to do it. so I would say other than stepping up voltage with a transformer, no you can't

  • just go to radio shack

  • hey...good job,keep going

  • your the man Justin great wind turbine!
