  • I had one done today. They really do need to find some more comfortable way to scan this area. ;)

  • Thanks for posting this informative video. The only thing I would comment on is that a mammogram (or whatever testing suits your tastes... thermography, etc) should be done much earlier than 40 years old. It is not difficult to find stories of women (and men) diagnosed even younger than 30.

  • Odd... doctors will use X-rays to screen for breast cancer... So the more one goes in, the more one is exposed to unnecessary radiation! If we all only ate foods that are loaded w/ antioxidants like organic fruits & veggies, than we wouldn't be in this mess. When a body is being overrun by the toxins that are consumed everyday, the body can't do what it's MEANT to do on a day to day basis: heal itself. The cure: non-GMO food *without* pesticides, hormones or antibiotics!!!

  • my mom has to get a second one today...im scared but breast cncer dosnt run in my family. if it turns out she does have BC, then she would be the first one of my whole entire family (that goes back to even my great-great grandmother)

  • my mother got breast cancer at the age of 35. women need to start getting checked, one way or another, earlier in life.

  • I believe that mammograms are the leading CAUSE of breast cancer! Every exposure to radiation is accumulative and the breast tissue is very sensitive to the radiation accumulation. An annual exposure is asking for trouble! There are alternatives.

  • although this experience wasn't fun for me...i was relieved to know that everything was fine. the discomfort doesn't last long. ladies...get your annual mammograms!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! but now you have to go the doctor and get your breasts poked and squeezed into some painful x ray....wtf? why would anyone do that?

  • If you insist on exposing yourself to ionizing radiation every year, don't be surprised to eventually find what you're looking for. Cancer rates are higher among screeners, and this is not because of more cases being detected.

  • I have tiny beasts and had my first mammogram when my gyn found a lump in my left breast, he said that for my age my breasts are very dense, whatever that means. Anyway the mammogram didn't hurt me but it was annoying at most. I assume if you're large breasted it would hurt more. My lump came after my last period and it turned out to be nothing BUT Im still told to keep an eye on it. I was soo scared from the time i was told he found a lump to the time I heard about my mammo results.

  • Breast MRI & Thermograms use no radiation or compression to screen which makes them by far the more humane way to screen for breast cancer; a mammogram unit is nothing more than a medival torture device. I refused to put myself through the torture of a mammogram and found a doctor willing to send me for Breast MRIs. Thermograms require NO doctor referrals, they are 85-90% accurate vs 30% or less for a mammogram. Be your own advocate and push for safe, comfortable, and accurate screening.

  • still ain't getting it

  • @Lilin1989 bad choice

  • It's crappy that you cannot get one until after 40 or unless a doctor recommends it. I say if I'm willing to pay for they should do it. Same thing with an MRI. Most Dr.s only care about the money anyway. Good video though. I hope it helps a lot of people.

  • Obama's death panel stated today "Women under the age of 50 should not get mammograms and should stop doing self breast examinations"

Politicians only care about taking your money!

  • I have to get my first in a few months (family history) What does the pressure feel like?

  • I wish I would have watch this video before I talked to a friend who scared me to the point, I rescheduled my mamogram 4 times. I found that it was not bad at all. I will do my best to inform as many people as I can. Thank you.

  • ha! the date circled on the calender was friday the 13th! ominous...

  • It was the 18th numbskull! You need glasses.

  • hahahahahahahaha

  • funny i didn't know the 14th came after the 18th...

  • Thank you for posting this video, ill have my first mammogram next tuesday, my doctir found a lump on my breat and breast cancer runs in my family Imom and great-grandmother). Some parts of the video looks like ifits painfull, my lump hurts when i touch it, so im scared now :S

  • my mom was recently diagnosed with IBC which can't be found on those kinds of tests. hope yours turned out alright.

  • The mammography technologist must compress the breast in order to get clear detailed images. That is why it is done. It may be slightly uncomfortable, but not really all that painful. Tell the tech to compress you slowly and it should be just fine.
