Finally, a threaded barrel version, so you don't have to pay to get it threaded or replace with a threaded barrel which effectively doubles the price of an already overpriced pistol. I'd buy one but the brown side panels and gun case are a big fail. Instead of a nice plastic durable case with foam cutouts inside, you get a plastic bag and a cardboard box. The side panels can be replaced, but for $350 I'd want more than a cardboard box, plastic bag, and foam holster.
looked at one the other day-brand new-neither magazine would lock in-had a 22/45 hunter with a fluted barrel-piece of junk-sent it to Ruger-came back junk-wouldn't buy another Ruger except from Davidson's-they replace it immediately if it's a lemon-no questions asked-let us know how this one works out for you-good luck
Nice pistol, but I think I'd rather have the standard sights along with tapped holes to accommodate the picatinny rails, but keep the threaded front. Then one could choose to add whatever accessories. That seems to make more sense to me. It may be that that would be more of a custom gun, but well worth the expense. Do tell us more about the suppressor, how you acquired it and its expense.
Very interesting .22, but about the suppressor, you never mentioned anything about it, how one acquires one and the expense. Neither did you mention the cost of the pistol. Now, when you do go to the range, don't forget to mention the distance to target and show the results. Sheesh!
@Dro77080 What? What do you mean? I ordered mine specifically this way. I like adding my own optics rather then being stuck with what Ruger puts on it.
Rails are somewhat over used...but I do like the application here...Being that you can mount a red dot with a lazer would make for a real fun gun to shoot and a good small game plinker!
@WeaponX831 yeah i know, but i really want it for the suppression as well as i don't want to drop a hundred something bucks on something just to look cool lol.
I have a 22/45 and attempted to disassemble it. What a mistake. I now live by the words I read on a forum:
"To make sure my 22/45 is running at its peak, I disassemble it at least once every 10 years... But I'm really busy this year, so I'll have to wait for next time"
@Hiluxtaco Agree, it would be nice if the Ruger engineers could come up with a modular system where you only add rails if you want them a la Magul MOE handguards for the ar15s.
The new Replaceable Panel version is the best ever. (the previous models were a bit thin for bigger hands) Ruger listened! Imagine that! Now if they would just do away with that stupid magazine disconnect that makes the trigger pull less than desireable. Another way to go for serious weight reduction when using the suppressor is to go with the (not cheap) Tactical Solutions threaded barrel which, unloaded, whole gun is about 13 oz!!
I agree. The rails make it look bad.
texaswader 3 days ago
Just pick up a threaded 22/45 yesterday. I went with the one without the rails. The battery never goes dead on iron sights. lol
Of course it is threaded on top so I could add a rail later if I want.

$439 is too much for a little 22 pistol that's this hard to take apart and clean.

@GunWebsites I think he means like on a kimber 1911 where the trigger slides back instead of a standard trigger where it pivots so to say.
