Star Wars, The Godfather, The Matrix, Back to the Future, Halloween, Hellraiser, etc. A movie becomes a surprise hit, and the studio wants to make a sequel. Generally, sequels suck and are unnecessary. There are good sequels, sure, but even the best ones are still unnecessary.
Nightbreed is an oddity in movie history... a movie that actually needed sequels, and didn't get any...

Yeah, that it was. Ahead of its time. Visually, and thematically. There were a few real gems of 80's and early 90's horror flicks (See 'The Company of Wolves.') , and they just don't make 'em with that level of humour and style. The current ones are pretty boring.
The only thing wrong with this film is that it wasn't a trilogy, and Danny Elfman.
@Deavi783 Well, I don't mind! Twilight is a hugely overrated Hollyoaks series, anyway. It has no fangs. It has NOTHING to do with vampires. We should sign a petition to put a stake through its lousy heart.
I mean, I saw the first one and when they flew around catching ball I just hit the STOP button.
Such a fun movie, though you can tell the studio forced a LOT of cuts, because the pace is way too quick, certain things are unexplained and there are a few "leaps" in the film's timeline that don't feel right. I don't understand why stuios feel the need to cut down films to make them more marketable, especially with quirky films like this. It often just makes it so the movies makes less sense, it robs character development, and people/critics end up complaining.
Ya epic movie, loved it back in the day still do, a part 2 would of been amasing if done right could of been a series of movies,uptight critics bashed it, still won top awards and took the shows world wide for the next few years after it came out.
@Deavi783 yes but I always thought that he failed so well, and he was the perfect villian to expose midian to the humans, but only if he was scheeming alone.

Just finished the whole movie.
