love you , seen you years ago ,St. Louis,Mo. Lacledes Landing. In a bar. Seen my best concerts in bars, you,Rory Galagher, Canned Heat, George Thoughgood. Dude, I have albums of you, still, ALBUMS!! That's rare. Text me ,
trower was the best guitarist ..around that time period...twice removed....Bridge of Sighs....For earth Below..those 3..are classics...saw him live 3 times..incl. 1974-75 period..nobody could play like that..and ever will
To Ningaman467: I got into Trower when I was fifteen. I'm twenty-one now. My friends are only now catching up with how amazing Trower is. Give 'em some time.
@H0yl1an BEEN LISTENING TO TROWER SINCE COLLEGE DAYS IN 70'S, AWESOME IN CONCERT, SAW HIM FOUR TIMES, LIVE VERSIONS OF BRIDGE OF SIGHS, DAYDREAM, AND TOO ROLLING STONED ALL KICKED MAJOR ASS!!!!!
@ninjaman467 saw trower twice at old chicago ampitheater in 76 and 77, at the granada in 1980 during victims of the fury tour, and in 88 at park west, small venue but was so cool, got seats right off the stage and got some great pics of robin
classmates about trower and how this was hard in the 70s and let them listen to him and they called me gay so i asked them wat they like and they sed RAP (hip-hop bubble-gum shit)
Your friends dont realize that they are bashing the roots of the very music they like, alot of modern genres owe alot to blues and hard rock including rap
(of course if it were me, I wouldent explain that I wuld jus start smackin ur classmates around)
@Ravenite1 I get the sentiment but "the roots"? That is like comparing a T-ball player to a big leaguer! Rap is a complete de-evolution of music. (I don't even call it music - it's little machines with sound loops and dorky rhymes that anyone can do it in a weekend in their basement). Like so many things, it's totally dumbed down ...
@Ravenite1 The cold hard fact is that it takes hard work, perseverance ,tenacity and tons of practice to play like Trower and all it takes to be a rapper is a Mr Microphone, an electronic drum machine and every person on the planet who can make a lame ass rhyme. These punks have no taste, no work ethic and guys like Trower have forgotten more music than they'll ever have contact with in their entire lives. There's absolutely no similarity between this and rap regardless of their origins.
@ninjaman467 bro im 21 and into blues and that's the story of my life.....just listen to what you love and play what you love, fuck all the haters..... their all mindless zombies, casualties of our society anyways!
@ninjaman467 you dont listen to them...they know not what they are talking about...you rock on ninjaman! Be a frontrunner for kids your age...who cares that they call you gay? Always stand up for what you believe in and what you hold as truth...dont ever let anyone make you feel less than who/what you are...rock on with your big self, Ninja...Now go on and listen to this old momma!

@ninjaman467 Keep that music alive. My kid loves rock music and already plays pretty well at 15 - his friends who are into rap have no talent or taste and will never have the same feel for musicas he does. I'm glad to see a percentage of kids these days who rap just doesnt fulfill their musical needs. A repetitive drum beat and a computer driven midi engine making music is horrid in my book, it gets no play in my house and is enough to make me puke. Tell your classmates what I think of rap:-p.
@ninjaman467 Yeah, those kinds of kids are just going with the force fed junk that's played over and over (and actually that usually has lyrics that repeat over and over). Sure, there is good music from all genres (even rap), but those who only listen to one genre are real dolts. It's pretty easy to distinguish between good and bad music. Your ear knows. If you have to watch music videos or see background dancers for it to be entertaining, chances are the music can't stand up on its own.
this is fun tune to play ... I learned bridge of sighs when I was 16-18 or so ... some of it I could never quite get like the way he bends certain notes in a fast fluid passage we didn't have videos in those days it was all by ear
sorry to criticise, but, just kidding, Robin's best live tune. saw him live at kalamazoo's state theater, 1990. way too good for us scum baggs, but much appriciated.
Ravenite1 - I love you for posting it. i don´t find this record/cd anymore.
I owe you this.

No rapper in the world can play 1/2 as good as Robin Trower dies on one of his off days.
