  • yall straight trippin ion see non of yall even squatin close to this even with bad form. this lil git is strong so get of his nolly

  • wtf am i watching lol

  • Squats not low enough, period. What you did was cool, but they were simply modified squats.

  • i lost alot of respect for your fitness advice from watching your squat form, go lower or don't call it a squat

  • What the fuck is this shit

  • Is this a troll?

  • You did exactly 0

  • Comment removed

  • 3:04 runt faggot

  • @campbpar el oh el jelly....

  • Comment removed

  • also your wrist allignmet are wrong, you are gonna get wrist/elbow injuries if you continue squatting like that.

pls at least check your from before you post shit on youtube

  • ...why excatly do you have to squat shirtless?

why excatly don't you do a full rom?

why excatly do you do lowbar squats but look ahead and now down as you are supposed to

also stretch out your hamstrings, because you will do buttwinks if you do a full rom

  • @Darnulin why do you spell "exactly" as "excatly"

  • WTH !!! LOL!!!! Thats awsome man !!!!

  • So where's the part where you do an actual squat and not half squats?

  • I counted zero.. anyone else?

  • lower, faggot

  • nice quarter squats idiot, try going lower next time faggot

  • Fucking amazing

  • My mom squats to better depth than you. That's not even a fucking joke, a detrained 50 year old woman has better depth than you.

  • Based on that video, you did 41 kneebends and no squats. Get your shirt back on, learn proper form and depth and never EVER give squat advice to anyone!

  • @eirich1984 Well said.

  • Why is your shirt off?

  • For anyone to beat this challenge they would just have to do 225 1 time. Not a single squat was done this day.

  • how much can you max out on squat?

  • nice butt scott

  • sooooo many professional squatters are watching this video.... wanna make a video showing him how to actually do it with 225, 41 reps?? then people telling u ur doing it wrong??

  • @Jekko2613 A person doesn't have to have videos of them doing squats to actually know how to do a proper squat. The reason people are bashing this video is because Scott didn't do a single squat in this video. A proper squat is breaking below parallel, while Scott just did half squats. A half squat simply is not a proper squat. Half squats also put more stress on the knees, and not to mention Scott also uses a Smith machine which also messes up knees. He will have fucked up knees in the future.

  • @PalerLaze You are right about the knees being put under stress when going only parallel but you are wrong in calling parallel squats "half squats". A parallel squat is a squat and it IS accepted by powerlifting organisations worldwide.

  • @GiefGoldPlx You misread what I said. I never said half squats are going to parallel. Parallel squats go to parallel. Scott just went halfway between standing upright and parallel.

  • @Jekko2613 shut the fuck up scott..sweet troll account

  • /watch?v=QvgabJF8aXU - anyone looking for true inspiration should watch this. That is all

  • SCOTT YOU ARE A FUCKING LOSER YOU CAN'T EVEN DO ONE FUCKING SQUAT WITH 225LBS YOU FUCKING USELESS ECTOMORPH.

  • @Grimbas08 u mad?

  • @Andystevens1992 Yea man I am pissed this ecto is teaching cunts how to exercise when his mum squats deeper when I am giving it to her.

  • can u keep trying to get on the challenge pleasee cmon man. just keep calling bunim-murray or whatever til it happens. u got this.

  • if it aint ass to grass i'll pass

  • O please lol.. calling out people from the challenge.. you suck dude... CT's got 50 pounds on you little punk...

  • Your score: 0

You didn't do a single squat. It's not considered a squat if it doesn't go below parallel.

Oh, and you're a twat. Stop giving lifting advice when you don't know shit about lifting.

  • @PalerLaze what do you know dude? besides mortal combat that is

  • @Mrakstunna I know quite a lot. Squatting above parallel 1. isn't a real squat 2. puts stress on the knees 3. does not engage hamstrings into the exercise 4. does not work the quads to their entirety.

Just because I have Mortal Kombat videos doesn't mean I don't know about lifting. Watch "So You Think You Can Squat" to see real squats

  • @PalerLaze Maybe it is because of this method all those guys lack definition and have that fat look. I, however, will follow Scott Herman training routine because he has the body type thats desired by the general population.

  • @Mrakstunna Following his training routine doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get his body type. Physiques are genetic, and even if you followed his routine down to the core then you probably won't have the same physique as him because everyone has a different body structure.

Plus, he gives very poor lifting advice. Do not follow his advice on how to squat since the terrible form will get you injured. Depending on experience, I would just do compounds. All Scott does are isolations

  • YEAH BUDDY! Lightweight!!!

  • not a single squat was done that day

  • @blablablbalba3453 ? would you mind elaboratin on this? how much can you do (weight, not reps)?

  • @TheFreshbum I squat 295 lbs 5x5. No idea about my 1rm. My e-stats aren't relevant to the problems in his video. The most glaring issue is his range of motion. He's not going parallel or beneath parallel and is therefore not squatting. He's making a braggadocios video displaying his squatting ability while not performing one legit squat. This is amusing to myself and others. There is a surplus of overconfident curl bros doing quarter squats in every gym I've been to. He needs to fix his squat.

  • @blablablbalba3453 i guess you are right. I usually try to hit the 90 degrees angle (i guess this would be parallel). I find it hard to tell in this video because you can't really see the angle.

  • Are these low bar or high bar squats?

  • @AGanimeH This isn't a squat, it's a knee bend.

  • @Chrisman50 low or high bar knee bends?

  • @AGanimeH obviously low bar

  • whats with all this partial rep bullshit?? yeah his quads may not be exactly parallel to the floor but he does ok . people are such little bitches when it comes to squat technique -__-

  • strong partial squats

  • I like how at the end it says "5 stars for all the way down" Lol.

  • Number of times you squatted: 0

Number of times you said TSHH: 77832920492

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you set up and un rack with a high bar, but then switch to low bar when its already on your back? why dont you just set up with low bar?

  • im a freshman and i can do tht

  • @rangerman75ify stupid freshman go squat your 135

  • More like a good morning/hump the fucking air contest...do me a favor and make a new video with u doing 135 for 15 reps ATG!!!

  • So first he sets himself for a high-bar squat. Then at 0:51 he bounces it down to low-bar position, not smart to manuver heavy weights like that. Elbows should be up and wrists straight. He's doing the opposite, bent wrists and elbows down which leads to decreased tightness in the upper back. Not going even to parallel and thus not using hip drive. His neck is also not inline with his torso in the bottom position.

  • oh i see. wes was doing quarter squats though

  • these are actually pretty good squats. low bar squats are supposed to be at 90 to the upper thigh not the lower thigh but still pretty close and impressive

  • Wes can squat 225 for 45 reps and 315 for 30 reps at about 180lbs bodyweight can u do that scott??

  • @DeiTy4GuiTar lol where did you see this?

  • @rogue8853 search up "wes bergmann" on youtube ull be able to see

  • dude you definitely need to get on the challenge man

  • wtf is this? You're squatting above parallel. Hell, above bench depth, even. You're bringing your torso down MORE than your hips. These are not squats. And I don't mean that in some kind of elitist "you're not going low enough" way. These are literally not squats.

You could almost call these squat lockouts if it weren't for your upper body dropping closer to parallel than your hamstrings. I absolutely assure you that if you can squat 225-275 below parallel for one, you could replicate this.

  • Yeah buddy! ronnie coleman lol

  • Im a big fan scott, and I admire you, but I found this video abit cocky and all that. Im from the UK so we dont use pounds, we use KG. 225 pounds is aound 105kg. I squat 110kg for my final set. I can only squat 10, but the funny thing is, im 16, 168 pounds and im 6 "4. Your older heavyer, shorter and stronger than me. So what bugs me is why do you think you can squat more than all of us? Why do you say you can squat 225 more than us? Abit cocky in my eyes, and I hate people with a big ego

  • regardless of his form most people don't realize this guy is actually very strong if he can push his own body weight +225 lbs up 41 times...

  • @gtslmfao Not necessarily. When you do an exercise with more than 15 reps, you are leaving strength training and entering ENDURANCE training. That's why some people can bench press 300 lbs but can barely do 50 push ups. So this only shows his endurace, not strength, maybe he wouldn't be able to squat 300 lbs not even 10 times. Oh and btw, bad squat form.

  • i still believe in the powerlifting squat Ass to grass but this was impressive none the less good job. when are you gonna join the MTV challenge show anyway scott??? doo it haha

  • As long as he is going down until 90 degrees that is a squat, now stop bitching, none of you could do this.

  • when you can curl what you bench? Who the fuck is this guy and why is he coming at scott who is more fit and stronger than him. okay so i guess scott has to curl 315lbs because thats what he benchs at 170lbs unlike this fat ass that probably benches 250lbs.

  • first time i ever see scott become tired hehehe great job

  • @buster999121 haha i think this is nothing compared to scott herman treadmill, look up for that video hahha he ends up almost crying hahaha ... and he has another one doing chest, he cant even finish it because he did it with no rest haha it is so funny :)

  • return of the scott herman CHHH. hey, quick question. me and my dad (whose pretty buff) were arguing about squats and deadlifts. (but mostly squats). he says since i have scoliosis (i wore a back brace for 2 years, i just recently got it off) , i shouldnt squat. ive repeatedly argued about this because its an exercise i really want to pick up. he tells me it puts unnecessary strain on my spine, can anyone back me up or give me some sources so i can prove my point? thank you so much!

  • I've been checking out your videos for a while and never knew that you were on the real world brooklyn.

  • Its so funny how all these people can say he doesn't squat right, when they can't do any better. Lets see you post a video doing more.

  • Your a beast!! Love the videos keep em coming bro.

  • ectomorphs have a mechanical disadvantage for squats so it's alright that you didn't go all the way down, i think your form was damn good already! anyway what's the point of being proud of those powerlifters who can deep squat 225 x 41 with perfect form, when they all look stout and plump. you're looking great scott, and that's the point of gymming right?

  • Uh, no he can't.

He can't squat 225 more times than anybody I train with, men AND women, either - even given his lame above parallel squats vs powerlifting below parallel squats or Olympic full squats.

  • So 41 half squats equals how many actual squats?

  • Congrats on your 225x50+ - you're neither strong nor huge. Come at me, bro.

  • See video above for how a high rep squat set is not done. This is how a high rep squat set is done: v=Xd6XGpifBv0

  • time to make new one

  • Try to watch this video is my execution is good: Search this on youtube: Rusty and me @ bodybuff

  • Scotts way too nice of a guy for people to be bagging on him...u guys are sad

  • terrible terrible form head up back straight and squat to at least 90 degrees *sigh*

  • It's unfortunate that people take advice from him. Scott, you need to do some basic foundation reading before you start giving out more advice. Regardless of how high your squats were, you are rife with energy leaks at the upper back, low back, and ESPECIALLY the hips. Some basic concepts such as hip drive could go a long way. Unfortunately, most "fitness professionals" come with a bodybuilding view of the human body, which is akin to babies first biomechanics.

  • weak sauce. i can get that in excess of 200 reps

  • @SgtKAG I hope that by your name you were in some military organization, otherwise you're just as much a poser as you are an idiot. I AM a Marine Corps Sergeant and I NEVER train myself or my troops to go below 90 degrees on a squat. I do see some people do it and I'm not knocking on that, not going below 90 degrees doesn't constitute an improper squat technique. He did them perfectly and I'm with thekingofoakland on this one, if anyone's gonna talk shit, post a video response or shut up

  • @dxsinisterxb Post your video then cos you just talked a load kid.

  • im 5'10 and weight 162 pounds.... I feel pretty good about myself now because i thought you weighted a lot more then me! keep up the good work herminator!

  • Half squats! Seriously need to go deeper.

  • typical fitness center squats, do some gym atg squats

  • hahaha this guy is a joke. why he is shirtless in the gym doing quarter squats while yelling like a girl?

  • Man, Steven Paea is really ripped. He can BENCH PRESS 225 49 times!

His arms are stronger than Scott's legs! Scott, try gaining 130 lbs and see whether you can beat him then!

  • Man don't listen to these asses.

You do your thing, and they can do theirs.

  • you said you were going on the challenge i havent seen you yet

  • lol i was thinkin the same as sgtKAG, not even goin down far enough, and the "big guns" on challenges would put him to shame, i weigh 150 and can squat 220 with goin down all the way lol, not sure how many times though

  • @TheNealio20 agreed, definately not low enough lol,

  • Scott I was always hoping that you would join in on the realworld roadrules challenges, i honestly think you would wreck in the competitions. Pleaseeee go do one in the near future!!!!!! :)

  • ATG is horrible technique. these were fine.

  • dude you really need to learn how to squat. Just do a little lower of a weight if you can't handle ATG at 225, but doing quarter squats is not acceptable, not utilizing a full range of motion and neglecting so many muscle groups. You are going to injure yourself

  • These are what you call highschool football squats. They wouldn't be even accepted by the IPA.

  • Im not gonna say go ATG or go home but most (only little part of thouse) were not paralel

  • hahaha talking smack on youtube is like winning the special olympics...even though you win...your still a retard

  • @Minority189 lolol love this... 50 thumbs up :)

  • @Minority189 ahahahha

  • personal i think these were fine and i have done 35 at my school's football combine and i have 40 people to say that i was passed parallel now

  • There have been quite a few challengers who have won their first challenge!

  • LAD

  • Hmm..most of those looked like Good Mornings. Only a few seemed to get to qualifying depth.

  • Ok, so you did 0 squats. So if I upload a video of me doing 1 rep with the empty bar, I should win the challenge.

  • Nice bent knee good mornings.

  • i would have died in the third one

  • I think I might challenge you on this one...

  • I accept the challenge! If I can get away with filming myself (without looking like a douche) then I'm training legs on Friday, so I will attempt 41 reps @ 225lbs (100kg)...

  • your all a bunch of complainers, they may not have been ass-to-grass, but he came very close to parrallel with nigh on perfect form. I bet NONE of you can do 41 squats of 225. i know i can't. good job scott

  • wow all the haters on here..........you are all just jealous cause Scott is the man. Keep it up Scott, love the vids!

  • right, goal for some time later this year, do 82 squats at 225

  • Those are not squats, several pretty good attempts but i didn't see one single movement where the crease of your hip came below the top of your knee. Nor did you fully extend your hips when standing the weight up. However you did appear to keep a neutral spine, so congratulations on doing that 41 times.

  • not a squat if it isnt below parallel- stop on any of them- he didnt even get to parallel

  • lets count then!

    1

    1 and a half

    2

    2 and a half

    3

    3 and a half

    4

    4 and a half.....

  • Your score was 0. You didn't do a single squat.

Squats are BELOW PARALLEL!!! Below parallel means that the TOP OF THE CREASE OF THE HIP IS LOWER THAN THE KNEE!!! You basically did a whole bunch of knee extensions. These wouldn't have counted as actual reps in any lifting organization on the planet.

  • @SgtKAG Scott's right. You only need to go 90 degrees unless you wanna have messed up knees when you're older. have fun with that knee replacement surgery :D

  • @khobz123 If he advocates going to 90 degress, why does he then stop well short of 90 degrees? If you honestly think that squatting to depth(to parallel or below) causes knee damage, I highly suggest you read up on websites like EliteFTS or StartingStrengthForums and read the works of people like Mark Rippetoe and Jim Wendler. Educate yourself.

  • @khobz123 I'm curious, who should people listen to about squatting below parallel? You and Scott Herman? Or the coaches of the USA Olympic Weightlifting Team? If it's so dangerous to squat to proper depth, why is it that the entire USA team, as well as every powerlifter and other strength athlete on the planet, squat to parallel or below? Is it possible that they are more knowledgeable on the topic of anatomy and physiology than you and Scott?

  • @SgtKAG wheres your video of you doing 225 for 41 reps at parallel?

  • @CommunityCircus I never claimed that I could do any particular number of reps at any particular weight. Scott did. And then he delivered a video of him performing half-squats.

  • @SgtKAG you're an idiot

  • @Situazian Wow, what an intelligent and witty retort. How could anyone argue with that logic? Much better than defining what a squat should be and explaining why I'm an idiot. I guess I'll have to take comfort in the fact that I'm an idiot who squats below parallel every rep, unlike the person in this video and all of the people who support him.

  • @SgtKAG you mad dude?

  • @SgtKAG thankyou, I don't know why everyone is against you being right, I think it's because they see scott as the leader of their gay crusade.

You're right they're wrong. Just how it is.

  • @SgtKAG chill hater

  • @SgtKAG wrong, squats r a 90 degree angle, he did them correctly.

  • @SgtKAG where's your video? You're like an expert swimmer, that's never even been in a pool.

  • @SgtKAG

cool dude, you can google squat and powerlifting, find the wiki page, and think it means you know something...Is he squatting for a competition? no....The reason why you have to go below knees in a competition is because you are usually doing a very very small amount of reps (1 at each designated weight)....Your knees can take the damage cause your not doing 41! Anyone who was just trying to do as many reps as they could would not go below parallel because of the damage it would do

  • @thexonexkid you dumass squatting parallel or lower is better for your knees

  • @SgtKAG You're so fucking dumb...

  • @SgtKAG I Would really like to see you do that, once you put a video of yourself on YouTube for the whole world to see you i will believe you. Scott just did 50 lbs more than himself 41 times and your complaining about his bad form. The point of the video was to be a challenge now go beat scott or shut up.

  • @SgtKAG post your squat video then. ;)

  • @SgtKAG Everyone is an expert on the internet, but when you click on their channel, they don't have any videos.

  • @TrevPwnzNubs so true...

  • @SgtKAG lol...buddy, please, this is not a powerlifting meet. nor is it an olympic event. this guy is into bodybuilding. not everyone squats atg, nor is it necessary from a bodybuilding standpoint.

  • @snowboard2000n

He is trying to see how many times he can squat 225. Apparently, the answer is zero because there are no actual squats in this video.

  • Why did you only go halfway down?

  • Nobody cares how many times you can partial squat 225.

  • i can honestly say that anyone who bitches on here that your form isn't correct is a fucking idiot...it's not 100% spot on for every rep but i'd love to see anyone bang out 10 more less 41 at this weight and keep it spot on...but even at 41, it was still excellent form...and to the moron who called these good mornings, you're a fucking idiot!!! stop reading girl weight lifting magazines and actually go to the gym and try this shit out...great vid scott...damn,i top out at 18 @ 225...41 = insane

  • @nickjames411

    /watch?v=YqiNndr3tG4

That is what 42 squats look like. Scott showed us 42 half squats.

I might make a video of myself squatting 225 for as many times as I can in about 5-6 months.

  • watch?v=DjtVvYk1HWw

  • Parallel? That was more like 45 degrees, might as well be leg pressing it.

  • thats not a fucking squat

  • When can we expect to see you on a challenge Scott?

  • whats RW RR??

  • that is not a squat it's a good morning.

  • @bigbobabc123 isnt it the same thing?

  • 41 perfect form pretty impressive ;) dunno why u still standing haha

  • ass to grass!!

    = hips below the knees

    thats a squat: lKe2dwAQxug

    dont ruin ur patellas :(

  • going all the way down gives u big which is so not cool so i think form was good and shuu is the word to anything possible lol

  • half squats brah... and watch that butt wink a herniated disc is no craic

  • squatting without a shirt??? what an idiot-way to turn them into goodmornings when he got tired. bad idea to keep going with that terrible form. also need to learn hip drive. Check out some stuff by dave tate to see how to squat

  • i could probably do it 5 times.......

  • @WaaahWah -- dude, no way you could perform the feat he just did. STFU!

  • nice one mate. FUCK THE HATERS!!!

  • Actually, he didn't do ONE proper squat in this vid.

Scott, what the hell, you have a youtube account where you teach people how to train and you don't even go to parallel on your squats?

  • @WaaahWah you cant actually see if he is going to parallel at the early bits of the video as his legs are out of the camera shot . but he definitely went to parallel on the middle bits of the video . however his form went slightly off in the 35 - 40s

  • @OGlens

Nah, he stays 2-3 inches too high on pretty much every squat. The last couple of reps MIGHT have been parallel, but for someone who teaches other people how to exercise he sure as hell has horrible squat form.

  • @WaaahWah For someone who whines a lot you seem to have the perfect YouTube name.... Don't be a skeptic... 90 degrees is all you have yto go.. There will always be someone like you who has to complain...ohh he didnt go all the way down.. give me a break..I did them perfectly and lets see you do it with a response video

  • @ScottHermanFitness

You did them "perfectly"? Are you being serious?

  • @ScottHermanFitness sgtkag is right only the last few of them were to depth, the rest were partials, but then again 90 percent of youtubers dont ever go to depth on their lifts so whats the use complaining, ill take a video of me with 225 doing the same range of motion and then you will prolly say the same thing to me , so why dont we all just eat train and be merry

  • @ScottHermanFitness

How about this; you post a video of yourself doing proper, deep squats with 225 as many times as you can and then I'll try to beat that.

  • @WaaahWah piss off!!!!!
