This, however, does not excuse Megatron from being a cheater (although I guess it's the Constructicons' fault for giving him that weaker form, they could've just repaired the wounds on his original body).

Still , in every battle I´ve seen between Optimus and Megatron(except for the first movie), Optimus had the skills and power , Megatron had only power at his disposal. BTW , even if Megatron got weaker of some reason , he couldn´t beat Optimus cause he didn´t have the technique to defeat Optimus.

I think the movies don't do the "eternal enemies" thing between them any justice, as Megatron is portrayed as being weak and clumsy in 2 of the 3 films. If they'd kept Megatron an even match for Optimus for the entire trilogy, it would've been more epic.
