  • OK..

    1) Could you make a video showing Android installation from scratch on the Beagleboard please?

    2) You may not know the history, but the ARM core design in the OMAP chip started life at Acorn Computers in the UK in the 80's. Their Risc OS still works on it - ROM images at riscosopen dotorg. I dare you to run it and make a video before I get to it!

    3) You do say 'there' a lot but your English is very good, don't feel bad! You could always write a script for the pro finish!

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

Really cool project!!! I have a BeagleBoard XM on order, it is taking forever to arrive, but my intention is to build it into a handheld computer, possibly laptop, and I will look at your project again when planning mine. I'd also like to know more about getting Android running.

I also have a few suggestions - see next post!

    Alex

  • why are all beagle board projects so "thick"? I don't mean that offensive to this video. I have seen several projects. None of them have the thin look to them. Is it impossible with the beagle board?

  • @johnnyLikeVideo The beagle board is really a "development board", ie., a platform for embedded software developers to get their code right and working with hardware. It's not a final form factor for consumer use. The key idea behind BB is it's low cost. Usually prototype hardware can cost $1000's, which is pretty expensive if you have a sizeable SW development team.

  • "Look there, and there, and there, and there, and look over there, and there, and there, and there is there. "

Wow, where's the counter thingy that was in that episode of South Park? xD

  • I'm going freakin' INSANE there!!!'

But the Beagle does rock. There. FFS.

  • there...there...there..there................

  • Unless you can order in bulk the 3530 is the fastest ARM core you can get..which sucks.

And for the security specs...just forget about it

  • @tjc0der

your post makes no sense there

  • @donnyab the faster chips with the security specs require special licensing. The 3530 is the fastest ARM based chip available to hobbyists.

  • There, that's a neat concept there.

    There.

  • Warpig, you win SO much.

This is impressive, I might have to pick up a beagle board.

  • video capabilities of most beagle board are 720p resolution max

  • NICE!

  • You say "there" WAY too many times. Cool project though.

  • 1:12 look at that screen :O

  • plastic film

  • I've been doing lots of reading up on the beagle board project and I think its fantastic. Can you please consider showing its multimedia capabilities? For example playing a media file, perhaps a HD video clip. How about playing media while utilizing video out? Keep up the great work!

  • holy moly

  • Very cool. Reminds me of the Open Pandora project. I can't wait til I get mine. :)

  • Cool. What'd the parts cost?

  • what kind of autonomy are you getting?
