ive always watched boxing, mma, muay tai, kickboxing, etc. fighting is entertaining. the thing annoying about boxing is that they are pampered too much. 1 fight a year and most of the time its not the matchup you want to see. too much politics in boxing. i only tune in for 20% of the fights now because most of the cards are crap.

You also ignore that Jon Jones is (unofficially) undefeated and will win the title. Cain Velasquez (HW champ) is undefeated. Anderson Silva (MW Champ) is 13-0 in the UFC. This isn't boxing where you fight a couple of bums in between your good fights, where you get 10 counts to recover, only have to deal with punches and wear huge gloves.

You are right....boxer's make way more money than MMA fighters but, MMA/UFC was started in 1992...its only 17 years old....how long has boxing been around...since the late 1800's or something? its an older sport yes, but MMA fighters get paid well consider the age of the sport. It is also more popular than boxing right now...only time i watch boxing is big name fights....i watch MMA all the time...id rather watch and old Ali fight then most of the boxing matches now

well...., only thing is...mma guys dont get paid what they should even now...as a percentage of pay per view cards..they dont make what they should. As for the Ali thing..i never found him all that exciting...im more of a killer guy...dempsey, marciano...frazier, tyson....right now the heavyweight devision is a bit less exciting...but wlad is damn good..and vitali actually can be exciting..and at the lower weights..pac hatton was damn exciting..for as long as it lasted..

Back in the days though we didn't have internet or cable tvand that's how mma got so much fame in so little time. I'd be surpised if it didn't get popular. I mean Ufc is on kinda of a big network,and strikeforce is even on a bigger network and it's on primetime. And were's boxing,showtime,hbo,espn,and spanish channels. In 20 years I think it will still be the same though, don't see it growing more. In fact the one that needs to grow is boxing,need to take away all the paperchamps and corruption.

Quinton Jackson, Rich Franklin, Denis Kang, Anderson Silva, Spencer Fisher, Jeremy Stephens, Bj penn, GSP, James Irvin, Cro Cop, Fedor and Aleksander Emelianenko, the list goes on and on. Pavlik will kill Faber in a boxing match, i cannot argu that, but in a hand to hand situation (NO 16 ounce gloves) Faber will destroy Pavlik even with all the disadvantages that you have pointed out, now lets say its not faber because he is too small, how do you suggest Pavlik wcould survive 2 minutes against someone like George St. Pierre? its cool man, look I love boxing, Ive watched amazing battles, but being honest with myself I cannot deny the athleticism displayed by some of these dudes, fighters like Pavlik or MAyweather are amazing boxers but when it comes to full contact, its just too many years of boxing conditioning which has a lot to do with the gloves and the fact that they only have to defend punches.

I'm a fan of Kimbo because im from miami, but I recognize he is not the best thing for the sport, and yeah i admit i like it much more when they are standing, but I have come to understand grappling, K-1 though exciting does not require the level of athleticism required when full contact comes into efffect, this is why I enjoy MMA more, grappling is boring, YEs its true, but its such an important fact of combat that its hard to overlook.
