If you spent months and months making a game, would you not want to get paided in this day and age? Its like 12$ for gods sake!... @Traviskolber infiminer love and minecraft are all part of the same family, infiminer obviously came first and therefore started it but minecraft in my opinion is much more complicated(ish) love is obviously also an amazing game but is still in the same family. i think that they have basically started a new genre if you think about it all action or shooter games are mostly the same with their differences but some work on it and make the experience better for the players. in short nobody copied.
This game would be awesome if it weren't for the annoying graphics. It feels like a dream where you really want to look at something but you can't open your eyes completely, so you see things blurry all the time.

Was listening listening to a gaming internet radio station at like 2 this morning and they were screwing around/ recording a podcast and were Skyping Chinese people that had bugged them before. Then they randomly Skyped the guy who created this. They had a pretty long chat, but unfortunately they didn't talk too much about the gameplay. The host just kept bugging him about getting it on the ipad XD. I really wish there was an actual demo I could play. :(

I know what it means; the point is video games are an inherently visual medium. By definition graphics are important.
Theres no way this game could be done on.. PS1 level hardware. Even with excessive fog, crap frame rates & sprite trees. It needs a certain amount of polys for the terrain to deform.
If graphics dont contribute to gameplay we wouldn't've gotten Splinter Cell or Dead Rising or Far Cry or... any game that uses light as a gameplay mechanic.
It's laughable that you cannot appreciate the massive amount of effort and mechanics that went into Minecraft, this is a work or art, only a few people can make something as massive and randomly generated as this. you shouldn't judge a game by its graphics, anymore than you should judge a book by its cover illustration. @en3my666 The reason for that is because he doesn't have tons of investers and stuff like the big gaming companys have to get enough money for production. this is a one man project.

As horribly wrong as Basukua is (the graphics *are* amazing) I really disagree with you about graphics not contributing to gameplay.

I know what it means; the point is video games are an inherently visual medium. By definition graphics are important.
Theres no way this game could be done on.. PS1 level hardware. Even with excessive fog, crap frame rates & sprite trees. It needs a certain amount of polys for the terrain to deform.
If graphics dont contribute to gameplay we wouldn't've gotten Splinter Cell or Dead Rising or Far Cry or... any game that uses light as a gameplay mechanic.
& we'd all be playing text adventures.

It's laughable that you cannot appreciate the massive amount of effort and mechanics that went into Minecraft, this is a work or art, only a few people can make something as massive and randomly generated as this. you shouldn't judge a game by its graphics, anymore than you should judge a book by its cover illustration. Or are books to oldschool for you too?

@Ginteru Lol u shudnt judge a game by its graphics? yeh 20 years ago lol.. we live in a generation which has powerful consoles and PC's we dont live in a day in age with these kind of graphcis lol.. and dont judge its book by its art cover? are u insane tat basically tells u whats its about lol and how much the author cares for his book... otherwise why are they wasting the ink making them lol.. if a book has people kissing on it then its a love book if it has a sword its a fantasy book there.

And if games are so based on gameplay and gameplay alone why are people constantly upgrading tehre computers / consoles for hundreds of pounds lol.. so what made by one guy lol thats his own fault for not getting help ^^ Joe Danger was made by 2 guys and looks a lot better than this :)

Cause some people also want fast computers, graphics are just a bonus, it's a different thing. It's just the fact that people compare graphics to gameplay while being complete idiots.
Oh and he probably didn't have any talented friends to help him, or he wanted to do a solo project, it's his own choice whom he works with.

And if people want faster computer u upgrade RAM and ur CPU not ur graphics card so :) and graphics play a huge factor in games thats why in 90% of reviews they mention it since this is not 10 years ago whilst the ps1 was out :)

Of course they mention the graphics, with gameplay, sound and everything else.
A game must be reviewed in all forms, and that is not an excuse on how your little graphics>gameplay thinking works.
Now leave me alone while I play Minecraft, or better yet, Dwarf Fortress.
