man they need to give him a decent fighter to face. ok ges got a record is 14 wins with 14 knock outs but there all agaist stright up bums, they need to start upping his class his latest fight Dan Sheehan with a record of 11 wins 38 lost is as bad as his Deontay 1st fight.
one thing i noticed is deontay is used to being on the outside with those long ass arms, he has been used to keeping his hands down cause these 0-10 guys are unable to hit em......an elite fighter will catch his ass slippin and lay him down so wilder keep those hands up, try not to develope bad habits!
Deontay's team is tryin to get him a fight on sho box with undefeated boxer from houston that i know very well....skip! I think it would be a great fight, both are long and rangey. skip is like 6'6 6'7......what ever happens good luck.
Go to box rec and look at all his opponents records, people you need to understand this is how you sell your product,he will probably fight for a title around 13 or 14 -0. we will see in due time if he has what it takes to be a champion!
This guy has some nerve commin out dancin with shades on,dude your disrespecting the game! number one, no one will ever know how good he is until he fights real opponents.he has potential though from what ive seen!
yea i got to spar with him tuscaloosa. obviously for my help only. he didnt even wear a mouthpiece becuase i had no chance of hitting him haha. fantastic guy. 6 foot 7 inches. and his wingspan could be bigger than that.
ha ha you just a fan tell that chump he soft he fought guys under 200 pounds in boxing he never fought no one like me the title will be mine you will hear from me soon. thanks for the reponse you lame.
hey Jerome, guess what? you shouldnt talk yourself up when you aint any good, Tommy Morrison back when he was at the start of his career was ALOT tougher than both of these fighters.
i saw deontay's fights at beijing, ever since ive had a gut feeling in the future he will clean out the heavy weight devision and make it exciting again.
Another thing he has to stop is lunging in when he throws punches. He's a tall man and need to box tall. Crouching (which is for small fighters like marciano)and lunging in combination with bad balance will lead to getting KTFOed when he steps up. He needs his head centered over his crotch instead of in front of his front foot where it is in reach of his oppo. fists.
But then again he is young and inexperienced, he should be moved slow a trained well.
If you are talking about his KO shot with the jab to the solar plexus, that was picture perfect. Jabs aren't always thrown from the shoulder only; if you double up on the left or see a good opening for a strong left shot, you want to step into it. It requires knowing that you can get in quick and get back out or being able to position yourself to counter any counter-shots.
Especially doubles or triples: stepping into the following jabs pressures the other guy, both movement wise and power.
good talent, but needs a lot of work: more compact punches, better guard and his biggest problem much better balance.
If he can get this down he will have a good future, but with his current technical skill he won't make the top 20. He needs a good coach like Roach or so.
im 6 foot 4 1/2 deontay is now my idol lol saw him on late night boxing on channel 5 this guy is sick hope he does well in the boxing industry, he owned the guy he fought.
Wilder doesn't have 10% of the amatuer experience that Scott had. Wilder finished his amatuer career with less than 30 bouts. That is why he is being moved at a slow pace.
Wilder can't be hitting him that hard. Then again, that guy is most likely a scrub. After I get my name up in the amateurs, in one year, I am gonna turn pro and challenge wilder himself. Show him what a true Heavyweight is.
You Need To Get as Many Amatuer Fights Under Your belt As You Can. I Know People That have Had Over 100 In one Year. Dont Be Like So Many Of the Fighters These Days And Have 1 Fight Every Few Months. The Best thing To Do Is Do What The Old School Fighters Did And Fight Every Week.

Deontay should hire emaunel steward or roach and bulk up to around 227 pounds, then he would be an absolute beast.

I wonder how he would fair against Chris Areola....Anyone?
Machiavelli1513 2 years ago
50-50 today. In 2 years, Deontay will demolish him. Tall and athletic vs. short and fat is a mismatch.
HeathInClearLake 2 years ago
he would probably beat him over a 6 round distance however, over a championship fight he wont be able to handle Areola's experience.

Mismatch against a truly awful opponent. Let's hope we don't have another Malik Scott on our hands, 35-0 and fought absolutely nobody.
PickledStone888 2 years ago
Yeah, what's up with Scott? He looks good but obviously doesn't step up. I actually forgot about him.
