my first thought was, 'can i do that', an likely yes i can with the right person coaching. but your flying shows experience and i am very impressed. its abit harder geting ok to do such things in NZ in a club plane. cheers for the good vid. Mangawheki
Great landing! I love videos like this. I wish there were more places to fly into like this in my area. What model of 172 is this? Does it have any mods, such as a STOL kit or H.P. upgrade?
litle dirt road in the middle of no where traffic this is cessna 352echo back taxi dirt road for departure little dirt road in the middle of now where traffic
because of in the middle of the slideshow there is a picture of a very beatiful plain, a big flat area into the mountains, perfect to land !!! ehehheeh
yeah i dont think the old oleo's are very good for this terrain, probably why most pilots up there go for a conventional setup. that and you can flare as much as you want with a conventional, no tail strikes to worry about!
... And I was going to ask if we could get a ride but now you have me scared! ((I hate flying)) LOL, thanks for the comment on my video of the lake :) I love Alaska but am in the process of moving now to the lower 48 - enjoy it for us :)
that made me lol because it was just at the pinnacle of impressive :D

In a 172? Impressive! Shortest strip I've managed to get into in a 172 was 1300'...but that was also in August in Pennsylvania...it was HOT.

900 to 1,000 ft. isn't long to me, but I'm a student with only about 20 hours.

Wow man, are you really landing on a road? COOL!!
kevztar 4 years ago
You must go through nose gear struts monthly. That has to be rough on a plane.
