  • can i also play wirelessly music from my pc to my stereo which will be connected to this airport express?

  • Is this a source for wireless internet if you already have a wired internet connection?

  • so if im in my garage, i can plug that in and ill have wifi?

  • This explains alot. Thanks!

  • so does this mean if i plug it in i have a wifi network i can use with my laptop. Or does this thing only connects with an exisiting wifi network to allow for wired connecttions etc?

  • Can you charge your idevice with this thing?

  • @Jeroengar you can't the USB port is for printers only

  • hey can it recieve wifi signals from a wifi network and transmit wifi so that it can be used to extend the wifi connection , can this be done just by plugging the airport express to the wall socket and not connecting any other ethernet wires

  • @123bluesugar Absolutely, that's Range Extender mode. You configure that with the AirPort utility on your Mac or PC, or you can do so with an app on your iPhone/iPod/iPad.

  • And

  • Yes

  • So I can extend a network wirelessly or wired, use it as a power-line with the other end being the router and use it as a new network for the Internet options right? Please can someone confirm that for me thanks

  • This is awesome. I had no idea you could do the printer thing. Definitely getting one of these instead of a wifi printer since we already have a huge printer.

  • Can you use the new airport utility app instead of a computer because i dont have a computer

  • @CoolMagicShow999 Since when did iPod have 3g support?

  • @CoolMagicShow999 Since when did iPod have 3g support?

  • thankyou so much. for months now i have been looking for a solution to receiving wired or better woreless signal to a separate room in my backyard. through many walls i have atleast a 3/5 bar connection.

Will this work for my PS3 or will my computer hav to be on at all times for it to function ?

  • Hello, i just bought a express last night and i'm trying to set it up. But for some reason my computer cant find my express. I have windows, and i already downloaded the latest version of airport utility. Can you please respond. Thank you.

  • can you connect a usb like say vodaphone or 3 to the port so its from the usb

  • Does the airport extreme wi-fi can it be use on xbox 360 4 xbox live?

  • @Y0UNGDAL88 yes

  • @mcapo2263 yes duh

  • instead of "designed by apple in california" they should write "made by minimum wage paid workers in china"

  • will this work on windows

  • I have an 10mb internet here, with the Ethernet cable plugged on my macbook pro I'm able to use and enjoy all of the 10mb, if the airport express I'll be able to enjoy all of my 10mb internet via wifi?

  • Would it work for plugging into a car for an on-the-go wireless network?

  • are you rich

  • does it works with windows ???

    yes or no

  • @dummestuetue dude just google omg why are people so helpless

  • @dummestuetue Yes.

  • So, im gonna get this product and i have a few questions, on a normal wifi modem i have to pay for the internet each month. Does this work the same way or does it create its own internet that is MINE and i dont need to pay for?

  • Sorry if I sound like a noob. I just wanna make sure this is the product I need for the use I want (Since it's $100:P) So I just sync or whatever the AirPort with my router. Then I use a cable to plug my stereo to it. Then I can play my music wirelessly to my stereo from my iPod Touch using AirPlay? Sorry I just was making sure I'm buying this product for the right reason.

  • another useless device by apple, thumbs down

  • @leozilla not really , FAGGOT

  • @leozilla and i think you need one to extent the range of wifi to go down to you in the basement

  • how can i start making videos like u i really want to

  • at 2:07 did someone else take over?

  • can u extend the wifi with the express without the airport extreme?

  • Hi I have a Cisco Valet M10.

Can I extend the range with this?

  • You're so knowledgeable about Apple that I really think you should start working for them! (unless you already are!). Like if you agree!

  • Comment removed

  • Wait a minute, so do I still have to configure it although I will be using it on an iPhone? I don't have a Mac :O

  • I have a question? If im on vacation and the place im staying in has no internet, can i use this for wired internet for my Macbook?

  • yeah bro! ur clear and a good! bro, i got one question, how rich r u?! bc apple stuff r expensive! I have the new macbook pro the 2011 edition! and I AWAYS wanted an iPhone 4! the one for att or version i don't care, lol my contract with tmobile is about to expire and I'm thinking about going to switch to version or att, that would be awesome if i get an iPhone 4! but its too dammn pricy!...

  • Can airport exprress be used without internet?

  • @bluest0rm97 no it uses the wifi signal to connect your devices. APE needs to be connected to a DSL or Cable modem via eithernet cable.

  • Your the best and your cool

  • Apple should hire you for keynote speech. You're clear & concise with explanation. :D

  • @TheCloudXTraining Thank You! I'm available anytime ;)

  • @DetroitBORG would this be a good item to network to game on?

  • Clear and concise explanation.. Well done man!

  • Very informative thanks.

  • what means "i want to create a new wireless network" and "i want Airport Express to join my current network"?

  • u made it look easy.thanks !

  • @pattriel07 Thanks, but Apple made it that way ;)

  • do i click join if I already have a connection from upstairs, just wanna get good signal in my basement?

  • @nycballa06 Yes, you join an existing network and then choose extend.

  • Very nice video! Congratulations from Brazil!!

  • @neopaca Thanks! Hello Brazil!

  • can i use the bridge feature if my wireless network is sky+

  • @1goldenchongo2 Yes, you will just need to enter your network password when you configure you Express to join an existing network.

  • m going to china soon and Do not want to take my laptop, i might be purchasing this airport express and also either an ipad or ipod touch. But in China, it isnt common to have wifi in Hotels only ethernet. And obviously you can't connect cable to an ipad or ipod touch. So i was wondering if i can buy this airport express, set it up at home and configure the router settings, then when i go to china turn it on, pop in the cable and then it should appear on my ipad as a connection also for others?

  • @Smallie7 Very good question, you probably do not need to do any configuration since the APE will create a Wireless access point when you plug it into an Ethernet cable. You will then use your iPad to authenticate into the Hotel's service via Safari. Hope this helps!

  • Where are the apple stickers? ._.

  • @AndresBenjamiin None for accessories like this for some reason.

  • @DetroitBORG You are awesome, your video's are awesome, and you actually responding to the comments, its just, well, AWESOME. Sorry for my enthusiasm. -Nick

  • @N02505 Thanks, I don't reply nearly as much as I wish I could...the amount is now too much, but I keep pecking at it ;).

  • If I set up a wireless network at home, then take the express with me to school and plug it into the ethernet there, will I be able to use my iPad to join the network?

  • @N02505 By default, the APE will generate a wireless access point if you plug it into an Ethernet cable, and then you can use your iPad to authenticate into the network.

  • Hi, my imac is connected to my router via ethernet cable, will i still be able to use the airport express wirelessly to stream music to my hifi?

  • @simon3102000 You can connect the APE to your router via an Ethernet cable to generate a Wireless access point for your HiFi.

  • nice video

  • Hellooo Please Hlp ! I'm Using a Modem to Access to internet & If I Get the Airport express & Cnnect it Will I Get WIFI or Should I connect a telephone line t the internet port ??? in other words won't the Apple Airport Express work with My 3G Internet Modem ????? Plz Help !!!!

  • that is how one of the iPod classic's was packaged

  • After you have set it up, could you use it as a WIFI hotspot in a building with only an electrical outlet, and no Internet cord connecter?

  • No stickers :O

  • @DetroitBORG When you print wirelessly from the the PC using the AirPort Express. Do you still need to keep the latest software on the PC or you always have to keep downloading the lastest version? Please Answer!!!

  • can i use a desktop and conect to the airport express and it wil be a supplement for my router instead of plugging directly into my router?

  • Question: do you HAVE to plug in a wireless router? [another one of my stupid questions]

  • So it's a router?

  • No I am sorry, I meant the AirPort Extreme.

  • Can you also demonstrate the AirPort Express and time Capsule?

  • can i use this as a range extender to extend the range of my wifi. i have a linkseys router

  • Can I use this simply to extend the wireless connection from my Airport Extreme Base Station to other rooms in my house for a better signal?

  • usefull

  • sooo can dis thing work for da PS3 ?

  • @fdgdfdfsssdas Yes it is an Wireless Router ;) U plug in ur Ethernet Cable and then u will get an Wireless Lan network ;)

  • @MustangGT500KRFever do u always have to connect da ethernet cable to da PS3 or can it get the connection wirelessly ?

  • @fdgdfdfsssdas No you must only connect the cable to the Airport. The Airport will broadcast you then an Wirless Networt with Internet Connection ;) You must only select the Airport in the PS3 Network Setup.

  • @MustangGT500KRFever thanks man !

  • @MustangGT500KRFever ohh yeah btw man ........ do u kno if a dsl modem, or watever it is, can create a wifi connection ?

  • @fdgdfdfsssdas Do u mean if the Airport can create a Wifi Network with every DSL Modem?

  • @MustangGT500KRFever yeah dats wat i meant ... lol

  • @fdgdfdfsssdas yes just plug the cable from ur modem in the airport and set it with ur computer up ;)

  • @MustangGT500KRFever wit ur help, i finally got WIFI ! ..... thanks man lol

  • @fdgdfdfsssdas No problem ;)

  • PLEASE HELP ME. I JUST BOUGHT A AIRPORT EXPRESS FROM BESTBUY BUT AS A OPEN ITEM. IT SAYS NO ACCESORIES MISSING. THERES NO CD WHAT SHOULD I DO? DO I EVEN NEED THE CD?

  • @eightlines14 Do u have a Mac or a PC?

  • support.apple.com/downloads/AirPort_Utility_5_4_2_Windows

    Try that one ;)

    Have Fun with ur Airport

  • Does this mean I can use the Airport Express to do the AirPrint on unsupported printers?

  • I, like you, have a bunch of stuff that make me want to have the AirPort Express.

Here's the thing; I already have a router that creates a WiFi hotspot, but since all of my computers, PS3, iPhone, iPad etc. run on that network, it's become pretty slow.

Will the AirPort connect with the already existing network and make it faster and better, or will ir create a new network? (I saw an Ethernet port on the Airport, and that's what keeps me wondering)

Btw, I love your videos! Please reply

  • stop eating ur nails

  • @DetroitBORG can it work with a gateway

  • Can you this up with a PC?

  • I have watched so many Airport Express videos and this is the only one that is good!

  • Desktop PC with iTunes to an AirPort Express, software installed and used on a PC, will I be able to stream audio from my PC to the AirPort without any issues?

  • Hi Michael, I am planning on getting an Airport Extreme and connecting it to aN external hard drive so I can have a wireless backup system. I know how to do it on a Mac, but how do you backup contents of a PC to the Airport Extreme. Oh, and just one more question, I currently have a Linksys router. If I want to select the option of 'Replace an existing base station....', what should I do first

Should I disconnect my old router from the modem and connect the Airport Extreme or how?

    Thanks :)

  • @mireelee No, you need an internet source and the Express is not that, it's just a wireless router.

  • @DetroitBORG it also lets you play music around your house

  • you only need the CD if you have a PC. the airport utility is included in OS X

  • @DetroitBORG, I mean can print wirelessly from the iPad?

  • @TheBestEdition Yes, with AirPrint and a compatible printer.

  • I found this video to be very useful. I have a question though, during your setup you chose to "extend the wireless network" is this step necessary when setting up the device when joining a wireless network? What would happen if you deselected this option?

  • Does this work without a computer in the middle? Aka directly from the iPhone/iPad to the speakers, so I don't have to have my computer turned on to play from my iDevice over the speakers.

  • whats better this or netgear n600 wireless dual band?

  • @quest8899 The Netgear is a full featured router, I would recommend that one over the Express. You may want to look at the AirPort Extreme for a comparable Apple router.

  • I have another wireless network in the house. If I use this, do I need to plug it into another modem? Do I just plug it into a surge and use Airport Utility to connect it?

  • @laptop504 Just plug it into the wall and you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the Express as a Range Extender to the existing wireless network.

  • @DetroitBORG so can I just put a LAN cable into it and I will have Wifi which I can use in my house ?

    Without having a wifi-able router.

and what is the distance of it ?

    thank you

  • @Detroitborg does it work with the iPad alone?

  • @TheBestEdition Not sure I understand the questions. The iPad connects over WiFi and this will create WiFi network that the iPad can use.

  • if i put a external hard drive in the USB port can i do wireless backup

  • @TheTechDog You can attach and share a HardDrive, but you can't use Apple's Time Machine backup system wirelessly unless you are using a Time Capsule (of course that only applies if you are talking about a Mac).

  • @DetroitBORG thanks

  • Is there any monthly bills for this?

  • @bobtuf0 No, this is not an internet provider, it simply routes your internet source.

  • @DetroitBORG Can I do this in my car?

  • @Pablo20896 No, you'll need an internet source to connect to the AirPort Express in the first place.

  • can you take the Airport Express anywhere and make a wifi network?

  • @ddavid1106 It's not a modem, so you need to connect an internet source to create a WiFi hotspot.

  • Is there any apple device that you do not own? I so wish I was you! You have the best unboxings and reviews here on youtube. I have just become your #1 fan! Anyway, I am thinking about replacing my hp laptop with either an Alienware M17x or a 17" MacBook Pro. Which would you recommend? I want to run games at maximum specs, however, I want to also have a reliable computer that will last a long time. Macs and Alienwares are comparably priced. Your loyalty to Apple aside, what do you recommend?

  • @cymfsp117 Thank You! I don't have everything, but pretty close! I hate to say it, but if you are gamer than you are better off with the Alienware computer, it's designed and specked for it. The MBP can be a good gaming machine, but ultimately it's not going to outperfrom the Alienware PC.

  • @DetroitBORG Thank you for your honesty. I really appreciate it. Did you get my message about the Otterbox Defender case? How do you feel about the case?

  • @cymfsp117 I'm still catching up on my inbox. I don't have an Otterbox to review, but I know they are extremely popular. I'm just not a fan of the bulk and look.

  • I love this little device, i got one a while ago, its a great way to extend your wireless network & use airplay with music throughout the house

  • Can you show us with an demo. That the airportexpress realy 5 more thimes faster webpages download than an another router/modem?

  • @Nielsapplefreak Is that a claim they make? Well that has more to do with Wireless N than the Router itself, there isn't much for a router to do beyond complining with those IEEE standards.

  • You don't have to answer this if this is a personal question, but how do you get the money for all of these things? Do you get it from YouTube partnerships?

    Thanks in advance...

  • @applerocks1824 I work full time, that's all :)

  • Very good vid. I have one and it works nearly flawlessly! Better than my previous Linksys, which kept dropping signals (threw it in the garbage). I have an ipad, ipod touch, printer, macbook pro and a windows laptop linked to it. Set up for all was easy.

I'm not a super know-it-all of computers, so I am wondering how would one take it on a holiday to make a network in a hotel? Would I select "Join existing network?". I'm confused about this. Thanks.

  • @oneangrybanana Most hotels provide physical access points with an ethernet cable. You would need this to create a wireless access point using your Express.

  • @DetroitBORG Great! Thank u!

  • If this didnt have the apple logo, nobody would buy this junk

  • @kungfufreak360 What product has the same features and form factor as the Express? That's not a challenge, I'm genuinely curious. Thanks!

  • Thanks alot bro.

  • 1-is there any problem if i keep it run long time like a linksys or any wireless decices?

2- will this device appears on my ipad if I am searching for wifi network?

3- should i keep my linksys wireless power on to use this device ?

4- it joins my linksys wirelessly or by cable?

I know its to much, but u r the boss here on youtube, lol

    thanks bro , u r the best.

  • @xpv007 You can leave it running for years, as many have. The device will appear as a Wirless Access point on your iPad if you set it up to use it that way. If you are using it as a range extender, and then you will only see your originating router. Of course, you will see the AirPort Express on your iPad at all times if you use AirPlay. If you are using it as a Range Extender for the Linksys Router, it will need to stay plugged in as well. It can join your Linksys router by cable or WiFi.

  • @applecrazz1 Yes!

  • Can I use this device to extend my Wi-Fi range and use the web on my iPad , iPod etc. ?

  • @xpv007 Yes!

  • how's the range on this for you? I seem to get fairly poor range with mine, with internet speeds dropping off quickly.

  • @MSComputerVideos The range on the AirPort Express is smaller than that of a standard router.

  • Can You Use The Airport Express For Xbox 360 Wireless?

  • @eightlines14 Yes.

  • @DetroitBORG Really? Because I Have A Really Crapy Router And Wireless.... And I Always Get LAG.... How Would You Use The CD To Hook It Up? For The Xbox?

  • @eightlines14 You set up the router using your PC..

  • @TechTabs in the video it does show an audio lead, what else could i use then apart from an apple tv as their a bit over priced for something that im only going to use occasionally.

  • @thejimzo1 Well Im Sure If You Look Around You Can Find Some Other Products If you Subscribe I will Be Sure To Have A Look Around For You? And Sorry About Getting The Answer Wrong For You :)

  • Dang he didn't slice his finger of.....:(

  • @Jaynez13 If I did, it would have made a great blooper!
