He'll play in NA this year. Probably in Hamilton, or in Mtl in the QMJHL.

@sevmac because there is a risk at drafting skilled russians players. With the new KHL league, most of them wants to play in russia for money (tax-free) and in front of their family/friends. If the KHL never exists he will cerrtainly be draft in the top 10 overall. You just have to think of Alexei Yashin who was among the firsts who quits NHL to play for KHL, then Jagr because he was to old for the NHL, dominic hasek, marcel hossa and many others great players

@thegame1001: I think Avstin was considered a second round talent but was drafted in the 4th round because he was Russian.

@sevmac mabe he is not that good, mhl is not the best league to play its not heaven better than the QJHL, he got his 156 point pretty easily but he is stil a good player but not that good as everyone say

this guy cuold have easily been a first rounder. he got size, hes got the skills and a great skater. the only reason why he did not go higher in the draft was because lately it has been hard to get russians to come over from russia. it was a great pick by the habs. low risk/ high reward type player!

Because he'll probably go play in the Q! His rights are owned by the Montreal Juniors. I'm pretty sure the plan is, one year in russia, one year in North America, then turn pro

I dont think so... With already 3-5-8 in 27 games against the Pro in the 2nd best league in the World. Playing in the Q would be a regression in his progress, he needs to face tougher competition...from the KHL to the LHJMQ.... Yikes.. Nope... AHL for sure. Guy BOucher will work magic on him.
