love the song, but always hated the video. Jeff Watson rips through one of the most badass solos ever, and you see him playing it for maybe 5 seconds.
Wicked guitar solo in this one. When you play guitar in the era on Van Halen, you won't get noticed, but this guy shows it off in this one, that and You Can Still Rock in America.
This is the only Night Ranger song I know, although it was in the '80s of the last century that I heard first and last. You can hear the classical influence on the guitar leads such as Randy Rhodes was doing with Ozzie. I saw the Ozzie concert on MTV probably the week after Randy died with a note-for-note rendition of Randy's playing by Brad Gillis, just like you see at a classical performance with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra where 1-200 violinists playing the same thing equally well.
This song turned me to the dark side and so glad it did. Such a great song. Too bad the band went South. First band I saw in concert. Great live show. And you just couldn't play this song loud enough. All time favorite.
Night Ranger still is around and glad to see them playing but it was nothing like in the day but good to see good rock here and appreciate the video. :) Saw them live with Sammy Hagar and what a kick ass concert it was and will never forget it!
this is never played on radio stations, only hear sister christian, such a shame as this is a really rockin tune, the amtraks really make the video....
I can remember back in 82 when MTV played this song on heavy rotation (Yes, I know, MTV did play music then). My friends family had a satellite dish and we would crank that baby around to the bird that MTV was broadcast on, and watch the crap out of this video! I think they played it every hour back then. Those were the good ol' days of fun and sun and real music.
These guys lived across the street from my girlfriend's parents back in '81. They helped her dad build his new house. Great bunch of guys... good neighbors. Over for dinner a lot. Fitz was one of her best friends. This is really a blast from the past for me.
I have the LP's, so no, I'm not kidding. I also saw that tour here in February 1983. Some church actually got a petition to try to keep him from coming here. I went to where they were collecting signatures one nite with a trick pen like I was gonna sign, and squirted ink all over the first page, which sepped thru several pages. You should've seen the expression on that fundy's face- he didn't say any swear words, but you could tell he was P-I-S-S-E-D OFF!! LOL!!
i thought i was gay just in college and then i got married and had a few kids, good job ,,, then i'm on you tube and OMG i see this, now i'm gay all over agian .thanks Night Ranger.

One of the top "twin guitar attack" songs. Great riffs, kick-ass solos, great lyrics; this just fires on all cylinders as hard driving metal.
