  • Go HTC thunderbolt

  • Evo looks better

  • EVO 4g

  • Evo 4g baby!!:)) but the thunderbolt is somewhat good also

  • Htc evo 4g!!!!!

  • I want the thunderbolt! Too bad I have to wait until May to upgrade... Verizon sucks when it comes to upgrading phones :/ With us cellular you can change phones at any time. I wish so bad that verizon would do that...

  • Two things I want to comment about the Thunderbolt. The first is about the thickness of the Thunderbolt. I believe the thickness of the Thunderbolt can be attributed to the internals required to make the phone work as an LTE device. You also didn't point out that, even though the EVO is thinner, that the camera on the EVO sticks out more.

I also wanted to point out on the Quadrant testing that I have never gotten that high of a number. I average in the 1500 range on Quadrant.

  • I have owned both phones and still own the Thunderbolt. The EVO 4G was a good phone but I kept having problems with Sprint. My only two problems with the EVO 4G were the Sprint network and the lack of memory since I kept running out of space for my apps.

Although the Thunderbolt has a lesser battery, I have gottten better battery life due to me getting a more reliable connection with Verizon. I left Sprint over roaming and their discontinuing their development of their WiMax network.

  • Does the thunderbolt have a key board

  • @BEaStxTwINs159 The ThunderBolt does not have a physical slide-out keyboard. Like every other Android phone, it has a virtual, on-screen keyboard.

  • Evo is the best!

  • hey bob umm witch has a better touchscreen iphone4 or htc thunderbolt

  • @XMoun7ainEPG3X You know that I did a ThunderBolt vs. iPhone 4 Schmackdown, right? That might help you fill in some blanks.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly okay thank u bob

  • Both r great phones in my opinin. There really isnt a difference except for the sense ui.

  • Evo Is Newer And More Affichant/But On The Thunderbolt [LolMoment] Yuu Can Glitch The Shit Out Of It And Make It Exactly Like The Evo

  • Hey, Bob I was wondering I'm 22 and I'm looking for a job and I know A LOT about do yuo have any openings. If so please message. Thanks!

  • @rwoody3 If you go to Wirefly's site and scroll all the way down, there's a link on the right for "Careers at Simplexity." Click on that and look around. We are located in the Washington, DC, area (Virginia and Maryland suburbs) and you would need to live in this area. It's a good place to live, though... lots of jobs and activities.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • ive got the thunderbolt and it is sooooooo much better than my friends evo

  • thunderbolt is way way better

  • ThunderBolt = VERY glitchy EVO.

  • 4G LTE...not LTE 4G

  • obviously the thunderbolt is better

  • EVO 4G kills it

  • the evo lost as soon as the dude said "imma wait till the evo catches up"

  • That's the first time I have ever seen the evo get owned

  • Evo 4g is da best, bitchessss!!!!

  • Two modems in the back of thunderbolt

  • Bullshit HTC hd2 is the pioneer EVO is its little brother

  • EVO is a pioneer, thunderbolt is just another HTC phone

  • I Live in UPPER MARLBORO, MARYLAND!

    *Look at ThunderBolt*

  • Thunderbolt !!!!!!!

  • Evo all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Both fye

  • My EVO goes vertical just fine

  • The EVO looks much cooler

  • The only thing I like about the EVO and it is more Sprint than it is HTC, is that your data usage becomes unlimited on sprint's 4G in comparison to Verizon's 4G

  • @kuzeln verizon's 4G is unlimited too just not on the iphone or tablets.

  • yeah droid x is the cream of the crop of smart phones. They just take forever to get cool looking skins/themes.

But this is the same thing when sprint had the pocket PC 1st. Then verizon got it and it was better. I guess that's always going to happen. Sprint is going to be 1st to have it but verizon is going to have the better version.

  • Thats a real manly looking kickstand lmfaoo

  • my droid x has a better score than the evo in this video.. my droid x ran on a 1527 on benchmark and on smartbench a 758 for prod and 1944 for the game!!!

  • @kenhanlon10 Droid X2 prod 2692 and 2652 for game. Thats without O.C.

    for quad score was 2373

  • @Randomkaoz i was looking at the droid x2... i have an upgrade. its just a hard choice to make, there are so many good phones out there.. its hard to pick one

  • @kenhanlon10 To be honest in terms of raw power i don't think anyone is going to top motorola X series. But in the looks department HTC has it. I was going to get the Droid 2 but then i thought let me wait for the 3rd one, but then my job was getting on me with the whole "you dont have text and email on your phone" lol. I'm not a fan of touch screen keyboard now the damn 3rd droid is out. The bionic looks pretty good too gets higher scores also.

  • On my evo know :)

  • "thats a really manly looking kick stand" lmao good vid dude but that sounded gay

  • I cringe everytime he puts the screen facing down in case it scratches.... I was just raised that way.. D:

  • @BriPuRpLeSuGaRBanana i know right lol..i was like damn why is he slamming the phones down

  • Is there a way to modify the HTC EVO 4G to get the same speed, memory, and all that stuff as the HTC ThunderBolt?

  • @rhandim0123 No... You would have to replace the processor and memory. That's impossible unless you have an electronics lab and lots of electronic skills.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly Oh ok. Thanks.

  • Thunderbolt sux. No question about it..... Evo wins

  • @Youtubascuba123 Sorry buddy. Evo is slow. Thunderbolt has everything you need. Hate to break it to ya.

  • @Youtubascuba123 dude listen very carefully to what you just said, then think about it. because without realizing it you just made your self look silly.

  • @Youtubascuba123 dude listen very carefully to what you just said, then think about it. because without realizing it you just made your self look silly.

  • Thunderlbolt beato three-dimensional EVO nc UBS Thunderbird just gane and three-dimensional EVO cale oir lastre year!

  • Thunderbolt is awesome, but I still love the evo

  • hands down its thunderbolt.

    why? cuz i said so.

  • @Dgkman2004 me too

  • Have bolt, love bolt

  • Obviously the thunderbolt is going to be a little better than the Evo. The Evo came out last year rather than the thunderbolt that came out this year? I still think the Evo looks way better than the thunderbolt.

  • THERE BOTH GOOD PHONES APPLE ITS GREAT BUT EHH I DONT LIKE EM 2 MUCH WASTE OF MONEY AND STILL NOT AS GOOD

  • Luv my evo!.... ! But traden for evo 3d...

  • yeah yall should start doing at&t phones

  • @jtag18 Yeah, we're hoping to get AT&T back at some point but there's no word on when that might happen.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly umm yeah it would be nice and yall would make alot of money on that iphone 4g believe me and that lg thrill set up something with them

  • GO IPHONE!

  • i just want to know whos battery last the longest

  • Evo 3D > Htc Thunderbolt > Evo 4G

  • Thunderbolt is amazing

  • I still like the Evo better :)

  • i watched this video from my EVO

  • this guy is stupid he was hella favoring the thunderbolt

  • thunderbolt is nice but im sticking with my evo

  • The one gig on board memory is TERRIBLE ON THE EVO. My third evo4g

  • please do a schmakdown with htc inspire and htc evo (both 4g)

    :) love ur vids

  • @jaredandbrad We don't much work with AT&T phones lately (HTC Inspire) but I'll let the boss know. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Bob at Wirefly

  • Wow the Thunderbolt actually managed to make the Evo look slow..thats hard thing to do:P

  • My EVO Can Stand Straight Up On The Kick Stand....

  • Your evo was really behind in smart bench. My evo gets 1680 on productivity and 1129 on gaming

  • Buy the extended battery and google sedio active case extended. Best stuff ever for the Thunderbolt. :)

  • Thunderbolt kills the Evo4g but Evo3D kills Thunderbolt badly.

  • i have the thunderbolt, and it only stay charged fore about 4 1/2 hours :/

  • Ha, I love how in regular years, 1 year is short, but is ancient in technology years

  • IM SO GETTING THE 3D I WANTED TO GET EVO 4G BUT PEOPLE SAID IT WASN'T GOOD SO THIS ONE IS A KEEPER

  • i like evo better and of course the evo would have angry birds so popular

  • I just switched to Sprint when I did I went from having the Thunderbolt, to having the EVO 4g. In my OPINION, I believe, even though the snap dragon processor is a little older and there is not as much RAM as the Thunderbolt and a few other differences that seem to favor the Thunderbolt, that the network, hands down makes the EVO 4G a better phone! It seemed like every time I made a phone call I would walk around saying "Can you here me now?"! Yes it makes a good commercial, but that is it !;}

  • @p4trick77 and t your explaination for why the stock Droid X is still slower than a stock EVO 4g? The EVO 4g is older if my memory serves me right... OCing excluded the Droids are not in the same class as any EVO. Speed, Style, Overall performance, Features all go to the EVO family. This is even with with the Droid have more internal space...its still no challenge.

  • @p4trick77 Can u say RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRooted. My EVO 3D is still stock bro. Everyone knows that the Droid X cant get above 1500 stock. When I unlock this bad boy, you'll never comment again! LOLOLOL!!!!! Weak sauce. BTW - the stock Droid X couldn't even out perform a stock EVO 4g. Don't gas yourself up with lies dude... its embarrassing.

  • I get a 2900 on my Droid 2 on Quadrant. I use CM7 :D

  • EVO 3D 2257 on Quadrant!

  • wait, so the thunderbolt STILL has a 32GB memory card??? I didn't know this!

  • @vicmackey1268 As far as I know, the ThunderBolt has a 32GB microSD card.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • I have an EVO but obviously the thunderbolt is better but I don't like the way it looks, maybe if it was black

  • When are you reviewing the HTC EVO 3D VS HTC Thunderbolt

  • @DJEddieXZ Maybe this week. I was thinking about doing it today, but I left the EVO 3D at home!

    Bob at Wirefly

  • I tried calling wirefly to place an order... I waited on the phone for 30 mins and then I hanged up.

  • @KlineAlexander Sorry to hear that!

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly Its no problem just not too sure of wirefly now.

  • @KlineAlexander I believe you hung up, is that what you meant kind sir?

  • @bfsblinkbfs No it is not what I meant... the phone was not answered for over half an hour.

  • Thunderbolt > Evo

    Nuff said.

  • @animegamingdude EVO 3D > Thunderbolt!

  • Please do a shmack down with the evo 3D and thunderbolt!!!!!!

  • @liliceman79 I just might have to do that one next...

    Bob at Wirefly

  • i checked out your website, and i couldnt find the htc evo 3d im really looking forward to it and after watching your videos im confident it will be the best phone for me

  • @buroburo9 If you go to Wirefly.com, there's a search box on the upper-left. just type evo 3d in that box and hit "enter"... you'll go right to the EVO 3D page.

    Thanks for thinking of Wirefly!

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly yes thanks a lot for that i got it! i will surely buy from your site :)

  • thunderbolt looks better

  • By the way, Verizon permanently discontinued they're Unlimited data plans. Compare that to sprints awesome everything data plan. Thunderbolt is clearly the newer product but with heavy carrier limitations. Evo ftw.

  • No sense in battling these phones against each other. These r two awesome phones. Same company so you would figure they would improve.

  • I have the thunderbolt, and my close friend has the EVO 4G. She even perfers the Thunderbolt over evo.

  • @bluewoodstables i have the thunderbolt too

  • HTC EVO looks sexier than the thunderbolt!!!

  • These Phones Are F'n TWINS . Just Different Carriers ! Lol .

  • nice signal, Verizon.

  • I have the evo 4g and I love it, although the micro usb port is broken causing a bad connection when I charge my phone. The TB is a little better in some ways, but the new evo 3d does not have a kick stand, nor a hdmi port separate from the charging port. It seems to me the evo 3d battery life will be a issue when connecting through hdmi.

  • @cwiggins20011

On the EVO 3D, the MHL port (I think that's what it's called) is both mini-USB and mini-HDMI.

When the phone is plugged in using HDMI, it also charges it. You can display HD 3D pictures on your TV and charge your phone at the same time!

  • EVO FTW

  • you really cant compare the two due to release dates being different, of course verizion will try to beat the evo by a tad lil bit, ok and it took them how long to even attempt to try?... more then 6 months?.... lol COMPARE THE THUNDERBOLT TO THE EVO 3D oh wait you cant cause its complete knock out in the first second of the match up 3D, evo 4g smacked i phone 4 evo 3d will smack iphone 5 aka brick with a screen. android conqueres evo demolishes HAVE A NICE DAY :)

  • my htc wildfire got a 394 benchmark... rofl

  • my htc wildfire got a 394 benchmark... rofl FAIL!!!!! on wireless cough 1mbps

  • any one notice the black phone had a bigger kickstand and the white one had a smaller one...no offence to any one... :)

  • @littledude115 evo was originally black.

    white was a later option.

  • "...virile kickstand if you know what I mean..."

    Haha, oh wow. Seriously?

  • How is there even a comparison between these two phones? The TB is newer, addresses some of the issues of the EVO, and has newer and more efficient hardware. It's like comparing a PS2 to a PS3.

  • XDD he does sound like adam west

  • Evo bodies thunderbolt.

  • I have the evo and I've been with sprint for almost 7 months. My friend just switched from sprint to verizon about a week ago and he bought the thunderbolt. His phone has been causing problems as far as not recieving or sending out text messages, etc, & his bill is $165 already (and he's not even on the unlimited data plan). Now he's upset lol. Should have stuck with sprint. I love my evo!

  • Tight

  • evo 4g looks better and the thunderbolt copied the evo with the kickstand evo 3d will rock the thunderbolt

  • Great review man!

  • You got a lot of emails

  • @yourplutoness What can I say? I gotta beat 'em away with a stick!

    Bob at Wirefly

  • If i buy the thunderbolt from wirefly, will there be any diffrence between the one i get vs. the one i would get from Verizon Wireless other than the price?

  • @TheMichael1342 No, there will be no difference except the price.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • I just bought the thunderbolt and love it I don't have the 4g network in my area yet so its running on 3g and its super fast my brother has the iPhone 4 and its not as fast as the Thunderbolt so if you get a thunderbolt you wont regret it its a great phone

  • If I were to buy the Thunderbolt from you guy's, could I put it on Verizon's prepaid?

  • @lilpop1002 To get the discounted price on the ThunderBolt from Wirefly, you have to get a monthly plan. If you do not get a monthly plan, the phone costs ... you better sit down ... $669.99. The only way to get the lower price from Wirefly is to get a monthly plan of the kind that we show on our pages for the ThunderBolt.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly bob you lie.

check ebay they are about 450

  • @sethborne I was talking about the price on Wirefly. Sure, there are other prices elsewhere, but I work for Wirefly and that's what I'm going to check. I can say that *some* of the highly desirable phones sold on eBay are stolen. Certainly not all are stolen, but some are.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly first of all you can check the esn, second of all many of them are sealed items, third of all ebay has buyer protection, fourth, even brand new thunderbolt from verizon will pay 100$ less than wirefly's ridiculous price, you should not expect to make such huge margins off of hard working people. shame.

Furthermore I wouldn't be surprised if your bulk buyer cost was about 400 a piece anyway, making your price just silly.

  • @sethborne I have nothing to do with setting prices on Wirefly but know that the margins are not nearly as big as you might think. And lots of cell phones in "factory sealed" boxes are stolen. I don't want to get into it, but hot new phones are a major target for fraud. If you see a hot recent phone selling for 25 percent less than its regular retail price, it's almost certainly stolen.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @sethborne stop being a troll.

  • @lilpop1002 not shure ask verizion probably not though

  • Awesome review, some reviewers are just boaring ur not trust me. But u forgot to compare both cameras and network speeds

  • @archangel919 and its nothing like an Atari vs ps3 the point I'm making is internet is all the carrier and the benchmarks are all the manufacturer internet isn't going to effect a internal test and one more thing my comment wasn't directed at you it was for anyone who thinks data effects a processor

  • @TheVdog12 "uhh if u think hes wrong ur an idiot there buddy," isn't this what you posted? lol. anyway, what's your point again? lol

  • @Archangel919 lol dude I said difference a 300 point difference

  • @TheVdog12 lol! dude I said congrats! =P

  • The clocks change time at different times also the thunderbolt clock flips and the evos doesn't

  • why should i buy the thunderbolt from wirefly

  • @troy90006666 Wirefly generally has the best prices, and we have good information about products, such as this video. If you can find a better price, better information and a better return policy, then you you might be better off buying elsewhere. At Wirefly, we think we have the best combination of price, customer service and consumer information.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • The Evo looks like a bigger version of the Htc driod incredible.

  • LOL! check out the other quadrant test of the evo under the same users video against the evo shift, evo 4g is showing 1232 on the quadrant test. hmnn? maybe you're wrong Bob, maybe internet connection has something to do with your quadrant test. hmnn?

  • @archangel919 If I'm wrong about this, then the people who developed Quadrant are wrong as well. It was when I read up on their development notes that I learned that Quadrant does not include network type/speed in its calculations. The only thing the network is used for is to pass the results to the main server -- and that's straight from the people who developed the application.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @archangel919 uhh if u think hes wrong ur an idiot there buddy, tell me what is the point of testing a phones internals? if you are going to be testing a carriers 3g/4g speeds? and just gonna let you know you can have a 100 point difference in a quadrant test ive gona as far as a 300 point difference on my vibrant so you just made two fails in one day :) bobs right you wrong yo!

  • @TheVdog12 : If I'm wrong and I'm what you so call "an idiot," let me ask you this, what do you call someone defending a video comparison of two of the same unit with different processor and gpu? i mean the video comparison really didn't make sense to begin with, its like comparing Atari 2600 to Playstation3. to top it off, i said Maybe, just maybe the internet connection has something to do with the test. so again, what do you call yourself? figure it out since you're so smart...lol

  • btw., maybe its just me or the evo seems a bit, just a little bit wider. look closely. also the speaker location? does it really matter? as clearly, the evo shows the speaker next to the camera.

  • Who won please say evo.

  • evo better

  • and what would it cost one to have this phone running in its full capability on verizon netrwork? exactly.....lol

  • LOL... my evo stands vertically..FAIL! If you are running a bench mark test, shouldn't you be running them on the same connection? again, FAIL!..lol

  • @archangel919 He even said that the Connection DOESN'T MATTER. It tests the internal Processor and RAM. NOTHING to do with which connection it has.

  • @lolcat2123 you'r e right, "HE SAID"

  • @archangel919 Yes, if you're very careful, the EVO 4G will stand vertically. However, it's unstable and a slight breeze will knock it over. The ThunderBolt is quite stable standing vertically... much more stable than the EVO 4G.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly you completely showed in your video that the evo will not stand vertically where it does, did not mention anything about being careful. it doesn't matter anyway because i watch my netflix and other vids horizontally like most. and if i really want to stand it vertically, my ballistic case will be arriving soon and it has a thicker kickstand similar to the thickness that of the thunderbolt. comparison yet to be seen, i'll let you know =)

  • @archangel919 "Internet connection is not a part of the test" lol

  • @takkaros21 tell me what's part of the test, ram and internal processor? why don't we test it where it really matters, like cost to value ratio..lol

  • @takkaros2 and what is? internal processor and RAM? why not test what really matters, like cost/value ratio. people seem to think because something can perform a bit faster, its better. practicality is the key my friend...lol

  • @archangel919 k im gonna put this debate to rest if you think internet speeds effect a phones processor and gpu etc. your and idiot and even if it did than why would you tards think that 4g would be faster than wifi wifi can barely dish out speeds to low 3g or high 2g maybe standard 3g if you have a high end router and wifi hotspot. evo didnt win because its older very simple as time goes by tech. will increase in performance.

  • @TheVdog12 : i like you, you're funny....lol...btw., congratulations on your "300 point" quadrant test on your vibrant..figured it out yet?...roflmfao! peace! =P

  • should i get the iphone 4 or thunderbold?

my ipod 3g just got stolen and i have a bunch of apps and songs on itunes but i kinda like the thunderbolt. I also cant upgrade till 7/24.. what should i get?
