  • i was born way after this finished, but had i been around at the time, i bet i would have watched this :)

  • God, colormaski6, just SHUT UP!

  • track name ?

  • Yes my favorite show of all times.....

  • colormagicsky 1-17, you are really desperate.

  • @KawasakiNinja29 Lol, I hope you're joking. Dark Shadows was a supernatural soap opera that ran from 1965-1971, it's what Tim Burton is basing his film on.

  • Tim Burton this Piano Piece I've written would be perfect for your movie.

    It's called Nocturnal.

It's a dark dramatic piano piece.

Check it out on my channel.

  • @colormagicsky3 that is a really beautiful pice of music, thank you

  • @KawasakiNinja29 This isn't Tim Burton's movie.

  • i can.t live without dark shadow it take me waqy back to a anther time.

i must hang on to the old past.

  • Richard Thomas quit the Waltons because of David Selby? Ridiculous, he left in an attempt to move onto bigger and better things plus trying to avoid being typecast as johnboy forever.

  • What a fantastic job you've done with this. The beginning of Dark Shadows is by far my favorite part of the entire series. You captured the spirit of it perfectly! Bravo!

  • Dark Shadows is going to be remaked as a movie. Directed by Tim Burton.

  • I LOVE IT!

  • Also there was an actress on here the real-life mistress of Klaus von Bulow who was acquitted of murdering his wife Sonny. Very famous case, the poor woman was in a coma for years and years. Now THAT is a horror story.....

  • @wesinalabama Yeah, I remember that . . . Alexandra Moltke, who played Victoria Winters (featured very prominently in this trailer) is the woman you're thinking of.

  • I don't think Richard Thomas quit TW because of a guest star. He left because he saw the allure of becoming a movie star. He did make a few films but it did not work out. Sort of like Farrah Fawcett leaving Charley's Angels to make movies only to flop. Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained.

  • An actor on this show (David Selby) frighetned Richard Thomas into quitting the series The Walltons due to how sacry Selby acted when he guested on TW!

  • What can be better? Tim Burton is making the movie. and Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are playing in it. the Answere to what i asked is, Nothing.:-)

all movies Tim Burton make's that has Johnny Depp and most times Helena Bonham Carter are Good. it can't fail! it's just impossible to fail.;-)

  • Great job! I really love the pre-Barnabas episodes. There is some very good acting in the early part of the series. (They taped the show in real time to keep editing costs down- tough on the actors.) Joan Bennett was a respected film actor, others had stage backgrounds. I loved Clarice Blackburn, Joel Crothers, Mitch Ryan, Louis Edmonds and David Ford. The young women (Alexandra Moltke, Kathryn Leigh Scott and Nancy Barrett) were amazing too. I hated lots who came later- except for John Karlen!

  • The nice blend of musical tension and gritty drama were excellent. Petulant Carolyn chucking the magazine, freaked-out little David attempting to jump from his bedroom window, the car smashing into the trees, and Maggie Evans' pithy, "Maybe you belong in that house." were effective. If this series is ever shown on the Sci-Fi channel again, this should be used as tempting preview of what's coming every night at 10PM. Every so often I return here just to watch this and enjoy it all over again.

  • Fine work, Joy. Great job!

  • Flipping brilliant! Great job!

  • Cant wait for the remake or whatever that movie is johnny depp is gonne play in.

Acting was just aweful back in the day.

  • Wow. Great fan made trailer. Loved it.

  • I remember watching this soap back in '68. I wish it was as exciting as this trailer. Well done.

  • Very well made, thanks for putting this together! I just now recently watched the first season, since I never had a chance to see those re-runs as a kid. I've never heard someone say "It's true!" and outright lie so much like little david. :]

  • Wow thought this was a real trailer for a DS movie. Great job!

  • I love it! Great job!

  • Very good. I like the pre Barnabas episodes.

  • This is a very professional job of editing. Great! I agree, the early, pre-Barnabas episodes were wonderful. Very moody and suspensful.

  • I'm watching the beginning episodes right now and I LOVE this!! The show was never the same when Victoria Winters left.

  • Bugger me! That was excellent! Cinematic that was. Well done!

  • Great...GREAT JOB!!! You made the lame first year episodes look intriguing!!!

  • That video was fantastic. Don't change a thing. 5 Stars

  • Thanks!, always loved the start of DS, EVEN tho I never got to see it until about 2005 ! lol!!

    love Sophia

  • Gives a whole new feel to the to those early episodes, great job!!!!

  • Revise it. The audio mix needs work. Still, outstanding job!

  • Great work on your trailer. I'd like to watch more. I've seen all the Beginning Collection, your trailer makes it look so exciting.

  • I love your trailer, very professional! I watched this show as a kid, my mother never liked it, I watched it in color in the early 70's. I had the opportunity to view the black and white episodes in the 90's on the Sci-Fi network. Great soap opera, more of a serial thriller I would say! Thank's for this post!

  • I have most of the Begining series but maybe two DVD's but I have all of the rest of the series from Barnabas's Arrival to the end of the series.....my collection is all most complete.

  • Burton ..... Not buttons... My bad.

  • You heard this is Tim buttons next movie project!

  • at 0:35 what episode is that with Vicky and Carolyn?

  • This scene is from Episode # 9, of the Beginning Series of Dark Shadows. Carolyn is telling Vicky When the wind howls, shutters creek & the ghosts swarm.

  • Wonderful work!

  • Fantastic trailer!

  • Heh, you even showed the original Matthew Morgan.

  • great clips and awesome dramatic music.

  • You did a very nice job with this video. My wife and I just started watching the entire 1225 episodes of this classic TV series with the help of Netflix and we are having a blast watching.

  • DS The Beginning episodes are underrated but they are still good, a little slow at times but worth watching.

    I love DS!!

  • i have thses dvds there are a bunch and they are all expensive. they come in 50-80 dollara collections

  • Awesome video, I wasn't aware these were out there, but after seeing this, I'm gonna have to start collecting these DVD's. I was a fan of Dark Shadows since it first aired and was absolutely enamored with Barnabas. He was such a charmer, even tho evil.

  • I hate David so much!

  • Oh my Gah this is gorgeous. If I wasn't already watching the pre-Barnabas episodes this would definitely make me want to start them. I adore this and wish I knew how to make trailers. :) Great job!

  • 1966

  • Many thanks-

    ( a great many)

    ttmot

  • i love it eventually i didnt get the beginnings yet...i kinda skipped

  • How marvelous is this! I haven't seen the early episodes in a very long time, and this makes me want to view them again. Roger certainly was dashing. What an excellent trailer!

  • This brings back so many happy memories of rushing home from grade school with my Best Friend to watch this totally, *weird* soap opera every day! Thanks for posting! :-D

  • Awesome!

  • What x-ray dog trailer music is this? I need to start making some of my own trailers (though I did make one for DS revival...check it out!). This one is very inspiring!

  • Amazing! How could anyone resist the urge to begin watching DS after watching this intriguing trailer?!!?

    Great work!

  • Lovely!

  • This is so great ad the music is enthralling.

  • I've yet to purchase #4 of the Beginning Collection--this inspires me to do so! Thanks. By the way, I love the "voice overs", especially Burke Devlin's ominous warnings. I loved both Burkes, but Mitch Ryan was marvelous in the beginning episodes. (Know what you mean about the background music, not that I don't love it, but it's hard to shake.)

  • flawless with bottom line at :50 from yours truly

  • Thanks. I love this.

  • This was excellent! The clips and music were a perfect mix. Anyone who has never watched Dark Shadows before would want to begin watching the show after seeing this exciting, gothic and suspenseful trailer!
