  • Its awsome guys totally do this trun in your old car that probly was good anyways to your local partisapating dealer get it destroyed or at least the engine. Then wait for your $4500 for the goverment that will never come to you because our goverment id a piese of fucking shit. Ilove this goverment REVOLUTION i say .

  • trade in your clunker that is paid for to go in debt ,don`t people ever learn.next americans will be filing bankrupt on autos. like the housing market. another goverment buyout i see coming for banks

  • A Cash For Clunkers bubble! lol You're correct. This program won't survive past summer so it won't lead to that.

  • a real american saying now,i owe i owe i owe ,so off to work i go

  • Oh yes thats what the united states is about, its not about the little guy,its about the bankers and the wealthy, like the founders designed it.

We the people?that was a joke, its more like we the rich and powerful.

  • correct, but its that way in every country.the goverment is rich and the people are the ones who do the hard back breaking work.

  • Sounds like you stated slavery, perhaps?

  • many people think that only the blacks were slaves in america, but this is wrong,my great grandfather was a railroad worker for the railroad and was worked to death at a very young age,it always hurt my grandfather to talk about his father.Who owned the railroads? the rich?people say he should have been thankful to have a job back than, bull crap .not one college kid today could do what he did for one day.

  • From where im sitting in the UK, England it seems you yanks have been Raped by obama, The reason he won was because he WAS black.

Im no Racist because Britian may as well be called Brit-is-stan.

It seems all countrys dump there sex offenders,Robbers,Drunks,Paedophiles and benefit spongers on the UK.

Well what a great job immagration control are doing, haha yeh next joke.

Obama doesnt have long left, wouldn't suprise me if he where assassinated.

  • Steam can be made by sun light collectors like magnifier or Fresnel lenses or reflective disks on the roadside stations. Steam can drive electricity generators; electricity can be stored and used to produce hydrogen storing in compressed tanks. People just drive their cars there to refill or recharge.

  • What we should look for is 98% electricity and 2% fuel assistant vehicle. Collect sunlight on open roads can be collected to heat steam boilers for gas turbines to generate electricity to recharge batteries. Collect condensed water for reuse. At night if the battery is low, it then use gasoline burning stream to blow the turbine to recharge the battery. Gasoline would be used only in cloudy days. Don't even drive at night? It can use plug-in recharge as another option.

  • do the math.

    the law: $3 Billion

    people in US: 3 million

    non-taxpers: 2 million

    cost per taxpayer: $3000

    shortage per taxpayer: $1500

how to make up loss: obamacare

    unintended consequences: priceless

  • I'm not a fan of CFC or any other unnecessary program that benefits the few at the expense of many, but your way off. My hometown alone has 3 million in population, the US has around 300-320 million people, about 250 million taxpayers. So to do the math for you, assuming CFC won't continue past 3 billion and we actually have 250 million taxpayers, it is $12 per taxpayer. Not much, but the amount isn't the point. CFC only helps the manufacturers and people who can ALREADY afford a new auto.

  • 'the US has around 300-320 million people, about 250 million taxpayers.'

nope. only 147 million filers, of that 5% pays 40% of all tax revenues the next 10% pays 30% etc.

the majority of the filers are seeking refunds.

'CFC only helps the manufacturers and people who can ALREADY afford a new auto'

worse than that, used car inventory is reduced and those that can least afford new cars find that decent used cars are harder to get.

  • WTF? There is over 300 million of us and only 150 are tax-payers? HMM Well I know half of us aren't under 18, so many it seems are either not working or off the tax radar. Well, being either number is extremely large, the cost of CFC to each actual tax-paying individual is minuet, even though I'm against it.

I agree, the used auto market will thin out and prices will rise. It seems as they have us by the balls more tighter each passing year.

  • i find this program with some serious fraud in it .

  • All this boils down to is a war on consumers choice. SUVs had been on the liberals hit list (even though they drive them) for a while.

  • Fuk you and you lipitor add!

  • Saab is sold to Bård Eker.

  • you cant buy a car you want, you HAVE to buy dealer stock on the lot,so you get what they want you to get.

  • Don't worry, all of the low-income people who would have loved to buy one of those "clunkers" in order to get themselves to and from work won't have a job to get to and from once Obama gets through running every possible job out of the country by over-taxing and over-regulating.

A bicycle works just fine when all you have to do is ride to the corner store to cash your gov't check.

  • Guess who's subsidizing this, taxpayers? Now a dealer can't sell a good trade in under this program, and someone in need of one can't buy it now either. Somehow I don't see images of scrap cars with salvage titles being driven onto the lot either for trade-in..Who proposed destroying the engine with an additive or forcing disassembly or scrapping the car within a certain time frame? I didn't vote for this!

  • I called the Federal Governments office on this program and sweet talked with the gal for a while asnd asked her, "Do you have many people who qualify for this program?" She told me VERY FEW PEOPLE QUALIFY! WHAT A SCAM! I had a car in 1978, an Olds Cutlass with a small v-8 that got BETTER than 18 mpg average! Hello! It should have been, "Trade in any car and buy one that gets 10 mpg better to earn $4500" Right? My current small pick up gets only 21 mpg average and it doesn't qualify?

  • I am confused. so they will give me 4500 bucks toward the purchase of a clunker. So I should go to a GM or Chrysler dealer, pick out one of their many clunkers and get 4500 bucks off. That still is not worth it. They should give me another $4500 voucher for the service department.

  • LOL!!!

  • What's funny about this program other than the fact it's another government handout to the auto industry, is if the auto you're trading in for the voucher is not currently insured and has not been consecutively insured for the last 12 months, you are DISQUALIFIED! lol So the very people they're trying to help, which is poorer people who wish to obtain help with purchasing a fuel-efficient auto, will be unable to use this program. FACT:Most poor people who drive DO NOT have auto insurance.

  • the reason it has to be insured is so that they know its your car, and if people don't turn in their own car and get their brothers car to turn in their gas guzzler is still on the road polluting

  • Insurance and registration is NOT proof of ownership, I could have my friends car insured in my name as long as I knew the VIN, the auto title is the only proof of ownership.

  • That is very true.

  • Hey markVIIchick, it's been awhile. You can also find me on my main channel apocalypticmetalhead.

Cash For Clunkers is dead, there will be one or more holdouts in the Senate and that's all it will take to kill it from more funding. How people can't see this is just a continued bailout for the auto industry astounds me. And another funny fact, over half the vouchers were used to purchase foreign autos. lol

  • Gm has to get rid of their old inventory.Would you rather the government buy these and give them away to the poor who needs a car?obviously not.

  • I'd rather the government stay the hell out of where they don't belong. But unfortunately, as of today, the cowards in the Senate failed to stop the new funding for this program, we'll now see how long 2 billion keeps this worthless program up and running, and we'll see how much more they ask for next time, or in a month or two being that's how long 2 billion will go if that.

  • So if the government would stay out, what does GM do with all their old inventory?

Talking about the cars made and not sold in the past year.

The cash for clunkers is working for the car dealers. They are selling cars.

  • I was on AM radio today in western Wisconsin. My call was taken by our morning show host as they were talking about the pros and cons of this program. With me was the biggest local auto dealer here in a city of just over 100k. He did admit the Clunkers program raised sales a bit, but this trend began before CFC. He said barely 1 out of every 10 that came in wanting to trade in their Clunker were approved. He has yet to be reimbursed for his first Clunker sale of over a month ago.

  • He also stated almost ALL of the approved were people trading in a third or fourth auto, basically people with higher incomes and great credit, so I guess if we need to help people who can already afford a new auto save some money, I can agree that's what CFC is doing. It helps actual dealerships very little. As for old inventory, how is that a government problem? How about A SALE!? lol Funny thing is, 80% of all CFC cars being bought are foreign, we're sure helping Japan out.

  • With wages going down who can afford a car,I alway buy used and fix it myself if possible with julio the illegal alien mechanic.

  • I buy used as well, but you're the one arguing FOR this program.

  • How many foreign brands listed are assembled in the USA?

  • About half, but many of that half that are assembled here are only partially assembled here, and even the ones FULLY assembled here only benefit the manufacturer, most which are foreign. I do admit this is good for the actual laborer most of which are American, but the foreign auto companies were never in jeopardy like the American ones were. This is all eye candy.

  • At least we still put things together here, unlike 90% or more of laptop computers are MADE IN CHINA or any other asian country.

  • Some desktops are put together here with imported parts.

  • Guess which retailer is going to dominate the laptop industry? Walmart! And we all know where they get their shit from.

If American auto companies would of cut half of the unnecessary administrative positions, paid the blue-collar worker on the lines 25 an hour instead of 40, got rid of the union altogether and took advantage of the battery technology that exists and began making EVs(electric vehicle) 5-6 years ago, the American auto industry would be thriving on it's own. It's all BS.

  • Thats right and we buy the shit because we let our companies since reagan came in office outsource with no penalty for their crap.

I would gladly to pay $1000.00 for a laptop that said MADE IN THE USA,we dont manufacture them here.

Get rid of the union,No we start making things here and tell the WTO to go to hell.

  • TOP CFC autos: 1.Ford Focus 2. Honda Civic 3. Toyota Corolla 4. Toyota Prius 5. Ford Escape 6. Toyota Camry 7. Dodge Caliber 8. Hyundai Elantra 9. Honda Fit 10. Chevy Cobalt Even thought the Ford Focus is the number 1 seller through Cash For Clunkers, the Civic, Corolla and Camry alone make up over 75% of all sales in CFC. What you're not really getting is that this is just an added bailout for the industry, foreign more, and it's political gold because goofs like you think this is a good thing
  • "The cash for clunkers is working for the car dealers. They are selling cars."

That's true. The only trouble is the cash for clunkers is not working for taxpayers. Because the money has to come from somewhere.

  • Cant have your cake and eat it too.

  • The only reason they put the insurance stipulation in is to thin out the people who qualify and so they wouldn't have to admit that millions upon millions drive uninsured everyday. My state was the last to force citizens to insure our auto, and this just happened a month ago. So legally, I didn't need auto insurance in my state til now, so I would be disqualified from this program just for this alone. This is just another handout to the auto industry, nothing more.

  • But new cars pollute too =)

  • Love the Shakedown!!!!

  • ahaha if u are reading this u will find a dead body in your closet and she will haunt and kill you uless you send this to 6 videos in 30 minutes

  • in 2003 there was a boy named Link, and his friends at school were bullying him and laughing at him because his name was the same as a game character. Half a year later he was found in the kitchen with a knife. He had slit his throat. If you don't put this on 3 videos in 10 minutes, he will stab you with the knife in your neck while you're asleep.

  • Shakedown was much better!!!!

  • I like shakedown. i try to keep track of all the racing going on but its hard to do so without a good source. Plus, this is quick. I don't have to read a review on every single corner taken during a race. 3 or so minutes and I have everything I need.

  • what about pontiac?

  • Pontiac is done for.

  • Mussda , Neesun . Priceless !

  • I think you need to turn up the volume of the Shakedown dude's voice, and maybe even turn the music down a little.

  • Oh! That poor feed banner got pwned, again!

  • Shakedown is cool. Keep it.

  • Much improved shakedown

  • Leo is a Go !

  • it rocked dude.

  • Shakedown is a great segment. Forget NASCAR, who cares if they can turn left really fast.

  • Nascar isn't interesting.

  • i am stating not like F1

  • Comment removed

  • very very good shakedown! Leo is much more tolerable when he's not stating his opinions about each motorsport. but anyway..you should get a new guy to do it. keep it up!

  • this shakedown rocked the socks off the old one

  • Good shakedown. I like it better this way...

  • more Shakedown

  • Shakedown aint too bad but I think you should probs get a new guy to do it.

  • Shakedown sucks.

  • MUCH better shakedown, this time i wasnt bored lol

  • love the shake down this week

  • I love this shakedown. I think you should keep both. Have some debates and just some facts.

  • fld needs more leo the suit. He should be featured weekly

  • I like this shakedown much better than the last one....It was straight to the point..

  • i dont like the shakedown segment. Boring and that guys voice is horrible

  • I wouldn't mind seeing Renault around North America, but Geely? That's a nasty invitation for more car clones. Not to look down on the Chinese auto-industry, but the RX and Phantom clones really discourage me from even considering test-driving their cars, and I'm Chinese in case anyone thinks I'm racist.

  • I Liked Last weeks shakedown

  • shakedown = cool

  • good. NOW getthehellouttaheereeee

  • Warwick as pronounced as 'Worick'. You fail

  • LOL at the feed!!

  • I loled

  • Geely to pick up saab ! Yeah like that is gonna fly. Renault picking up Saturn I think thats a good Idea since some Saturn cars like the L300 Are cars imported from the opel division of gm europe

  • shakedown (what I think)

you got some really good action shots, especially moto gp!

    I like it!

  • Uhhh, I don't think a chocolate car would attract "hot" chicks, exactly. Ya' know?

Shakedown was much better. Much faster and less chatty. More info wasting less time. Actually, all of FLD could take up a lot less time. I don't really care about Allan's shirt, for example.

...and dude, cream cheese and bagels keep forever!

  • i rele like the shakedown segment.. i think you guys shuld add more little segments like these.. of just funny or random car related things...

    keep up the good work!

  • shakedown was alot better though the background was a bit dark. though overall it was nice

  • 4WD F1? crazyness!

  • I think shakedown is pretty cool, and I like the new format better.

  • The idea of shakedown was nice, but the presentation needs some work. :)

  • glad someones pickin up the peices that gm dropped especially saab and alans shirt was not quite as bad as yours

  • im not much into motor sports besides moto cross and drag racing. but the shake down was a good clip! using the best highlights and the broad variety makes it interesting even for people who are not into motor sports like myself. good job FLD i love this show!!!

  • 2:57 look it's the Stig!

  • could it be a snapshot of season 13???!

  • LOL

  • I love that MotoGP is getting space in shakedown, but if you don't have footage of the race you should work out something else to put on screen. Its too hard to comprehend what your saying while watching tape of old 250's.

but by all means, KEEP THE TWO WHEEL NEWS!

  • Shakedown is better with this format. I agree that the segment is still too fast, maybe give it another 30 seconds?

  • i like the shake down but you need to slow down a little and give more screen shots. You are jumping around too quickly between series. It is a segment that should deffinetly be kept. Might want to call out where to watch good races that are coming up. I always find out about the big races after they happen and have to download them and watch even though already know how it ends. When are the US networks going to show something other than nascar

  • Just what the fuck is the waste from a chocolate factory???

  • Probably the same thing as from any other industrial application that uses plant matter.

  • HI Alan!!!!!!!!!

  • am i the only 1 actually wonderin how the chocolate car works?

  • am i the only one that remembers that the *cash for clunkers bill is what killed most of the muscle cars of the 60-80's...here we go again

  • ok that shakedown segment is pretty good but rele shoten it up its wayy to long

  • Wow a chocolate powered car. I'm holding out for the one powered by severed Goat testicles. Possible the French could come up with a snail (not fitted for human consumption) fueled SUV. Maybe a Poi powered Island cruiser for the back country roads of Maui.

  • Shakedown was better, but I'm still not a fan. I don't watch the show for automotive sports updates, and anyone who does will quickly realize that FLD is a poor choice for them, and thus switch to something else.

That said... what market are you going for exactly with Shakedown? It doesn't make any sense, and seems like a time waster.

  • Great the democrats aren't having enough fun taxing the hell out of us, now they will use that tax money to make it harder for us to find and fix up old cars. No doubt most of the tax money they will give people for old cars will wind up in the hands of the Japanese auto manufacturers.

  • Uh, if you earn less than 250k you get a tax cut. I'm willing to bet that would be you.

  • No, it's a tax credit, not a tax cut. The tax tables don't change. You'll have to pay taxes on your tax credit next year.

  • What ?

  • @wavefool

How's the democrats' legislation helping you out these days? Looks like that 250K number was a bunch of bs.

  • i think shakedowns pretty cool.

oh yh and im gunna add you on facebook derek d(Y)

  • i love sweedish meatballs from ikea! yum yum! with ya gravy and cranberry sauce!

  • Shake down was a million times better then last week good job picking up the tempo

  • i presume he meant no grand prix last week concidering yeah its barcelona this weekend

  • Shakedown was informative, which I like, but I'm sure other people had a hard time staying focused.

  • shakedown was painful...no more please...

  • Shake down was MUCH better this week.

Alan, that is one UGLY shirt. Did you lose a bet or something?

  • Shakedown is about as good as the current financial situation in the American automotive industry.

  • Yea Shakedown is slow and im not a fan of the hosts voice.

  • but ...but .... you promised

  • Like the shakedown idea, but it was a little boring. Need to pick and chose what sports you're going to feature. I don't think too many dirtbike and NASCAR fans watch this show.

  • yea and Nascar is boring to watch so how fun can talking about it be?

  • shakedown was like the end of the news program (the sports) which you wish you could skip over just to get to the simpsons. i.e. it's bad, in my opinion that is.

  • Correction: WE want more of that on FLD

  • At 3:57. The best of DD!! xD Why want more of that on FLD!! =D

By the way.. it you want another host, or a better car reviewer, please talk with me!! Yeah!!

  • dont like Shakedown

    cant w8 for tmmrw

  • I LOVED THE SHAKEDOWN! last week was no good. this one was kiken it.

    keep it :)

  • The new F1 rules sound very interesting

  • shakedown made me sleepy

  • I fell asleep at 6:35

  • still dont like the shakedown -.-

but still love the show tho...

  • no nascar nascar sucks my balls

  • I'd like to see that F3 chocolate car do a run with the Stig at the TG track.

  • Shake Down is great... Music Sucks

  • BOOOOO lose the NASCRAP coverage...too much play for that fake circle racing stuff. you covering, or even mentioning NASCAR is akin to an MMA commentator mentioning pro wrestling in something approaching a serious tone. seriously, no more NASCRAP please. (love your show!)

  • haha nice comedy action at 4:12 that's what makes this youtube cast funny and fresh.

  • aggreed shake down should be shorter and i like this setup better than last time

  • Don't waste time on nascar in the shakedown....

  • honestly let them die... They weren't selling cars for a reason.

Honestly I donno why people are so for American cars on the net yet log off and drive a Honda ???

GM is has found out it can put a circle through a square peg and now it discovered that the triangle jut wont work....

  • woah, i herd the feed wants to meet u at 3pm in the parking lot

  • Warwick - you say it like war-ick

  • i definitely like this shakedown better than last week. way more to the point. quiet the background music down though, its annoying and makes it harder to focus on all the info leo is dishin out. still big improvement over last thurs.

  • the shake down was a bit long but a good idea just should get thru the topics a bit faster

  • 10000x better than last week's Shakedown. I actually like it now.

  • i really dig the shakedown im glad that its something new

  • it is friday!

  • i thought that the shakedown was good but it just needs to be shorter.

  • new segment is great

  • Leo's shakedown was good.

  • Comment removed

  • lol i like how u always hit the feed box that comes out

  • new segment not audible at all

    this guy sucks !!!!

  • Thing that pisses me off about Fast Lane Daily is Derek DeAngelis. I jus gots no time for hosts yelling at me and marble-mouthing their words. Head on back to broadcast college, friendo.

    Leo is palatable, though.

  • My dad had an Electra 225 just like that clunker!!!

I just want to know who is going to buy Pontiac...

  • shake down is a go

  • SHAKEDOWN - Much better!

    1) Turn up the mic

    2) Touch some Rally subject (even if there are no races).

    3) Ad something WACKY like - Lawnmower racing, or The annual Girls Beer Race, or Red bull Flugtag (look it up).

All in all - good job!

  • Agreed, just do it on a Monday...that Nascar news was about 5 days old.

  • Enjoyed the shake down.

  • shakedown was much better this week, nice job :)

  • Shakedown is ok

  • Shakedown is good...me likeee

  • I liked this week's shakedown a bit better than last week's, and I think y'all should keep the segment, but seriously, turn up his mike!

  • shake down's more fast paced now thats better

  • shakedown is much better

  • GM shouldn't be getting rid of Saturn, it should be ditching some of it's other brands.

They should do what Toyota does: have one entry level/youth brand (Saturn), one mid-priced/performance brand (Chevrolet), and one luxury brand (Cadillac).

They really don't need more than one in each catagory. If anything, they should be getting rid of Buick and GMC.

  • I definatly agree with you! That really is what they need to do, but why would they do it, they never seem to do anything that would help the company anyways :( Oh well, lets hope they learn from their mistakes and make better cars :)

  • I loved shakedown this time I think it brings alot to FLD. Great improvement!

  • well first off... hahahhhahahahahahahaha

ya Derek D, your shirt was ugly, don't worry... even though you were "separated at birth" Mr. D had the right idea to puke on allan's shirt... hhahaa doesn't everyboby like old shirts? keep shake down, i like it alot but you could turnt he volume up on the mic
