  • This is some great guitar playing !

  • I once saw Les as the guitarist for Boz Skaggs (a position Duane once held for a bit) and he was amazing. He, Stevie Miller and James Cotton all got together for a jam and it had to be seen to believe. Les got at least 5 standing ovations....Stevie got two and one was with Les. He was GREAT on "Somebody Loan Me a Dime"

  • @lwplwp i COULDNT AGREE MORE .....THIS GUY IS AN AMAZING GUITAR PLAYER !!!!

  • I was looking for this song for more then ten years. Still raising memories

  • Haven't heard that tune in 25+ years!

  • want to hear the LEAD guitar on 'Ramblin Man', if this dosen't sound familiar, you're tone deaf!

  • Les has to be one of the top guitarist ever! Amazing,.. most people wouldnt even know who he is. All his albums are great,..and I believe he co-wrote alot of songs for the Allman Bros.

  • Anybody ever notice Les was credited with lead guitar on Ramblin' Man. Anyone know the story?

  • Yes. It was shortly after the Allman Brothers Band's tragic loss of Duane Allman. A few weeks later Dickie Betts was looking for another guitarist. Les auditioned and got the job. He played on "Ramblin' Man" and "Jessica".

  • Actually, it was not shortly after Duane's death in 1971. And Les was never in the band. He just played on a few tracks of Brothers and Sisters (1973). What is called 'lead guitar' in Ramblin Man is really the riff behind the solo of Dickey Betts.

Les was a good guitarist, not a genius like Duane though.

  • les is a good player eh! he does have that frank marino sound! it don`t get any better than that!!!! rock on! russ.

  • C'mon Les, start it up again!

  • Does anybody know the group DFK( Dudek Finnegan Krueger) they made one album/ a classic!

No, I was responding to the other question posted that asked...What was the name of the album with the champagne glass and the champagne pouring upside down.....but.... I never heard Les' first album... I need to buy it. Happy New Year to a fellow fan, and check out my amatuer attempts at computercurtis. Happy New Year!!!!!

  • it´s called: SAY NO MORE ;-)

  • @computercurtis

It is indeed Say No More... Les was always good with babes, champagne, and birds! What a guitar player, too!

  • Wow, finally found it, one of my all-time favs. Been looking for this one for decades. Even our national radio -dj who used the drums as his intro for 17 years coulnd't help me find it. Thnx a billions taxirock

  • His first album still knocks me out-It Can Do, City Magic,Sad Clown, Don't Stop Now. He corralled some of the finest studio musicians to make this-Jeff Porcaro, Chuck Rainey, David Paich-This album just smokes!

  • I grew up with Les, I love him like a brother.

I am still waiting for the recording that really defines him. I don't know if that is do-able on one disc, his tone is perfect. He is one of the greatest electric slide guitarist I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in with. Pete

  • Les Dudek is the Baddest guitar ever!
