  • that contradiction of aiming to completely ignore sth on a 10 min video addressing the issue.

  • A couple of years ago, I was walking down the street with a few of my friends. We were just hanging out and having a good time together. Then, out of nowhere, a skinny little fucker lurched out and started threatening us for no damn reason. What did we do? We walked right up to the little bastard and beat the fuck out of him.

Did I do the right thing? Maybe not, but I'll tell ya, he never bothered us again.

  • I've always felt that being respectful in any argument with a troll gives the same effect of starvation, as they know they're not getting that reaction they want out of you. I don't feel it's a waste of time, as I feel the observers - the spectators, gain a greater understanding of how trolls will react and respond, and what would upset them.

It's not impossible to win against a troll, and I honestly think there's alternative methods of succeeding, but if all else fails, ignore them.

  • @RatherCynical Replies of any type merely give them a platform with which to drag others in. I ignore them out of hand now once I see they are trolling. Debating with them certainly provides no benefit as they were never there for debate anyways and can always post more trash then you can truth. Sadly trash is infinite, truth is finite.

  • Were all a bunch of assholes, some of us just happen to recover;-)

    Great Vid bro

  • @iwanttocrashmybike hahaha hello bro :) hope you are well :) ...and agree very good video ....thanks for the link ...am going to sub :)

  • @dooksization Cool bro,I realized that for some of these people(myself excluded;-))

That to them its just a game or that they dont see it as "hurting" or making someone mad.

  • @iwanttocrashmybike very good video's will be watching more..I actually beat a troll for a while this eve..he seemed to get quite mad before blocking me..he attacked first..so to me if you wish to be racist and use all the most offensive terms it only holds fair someone should strip you of your"thunder" and help you dig a hole you cannot get out of..is that wrong?? lol..that said I will try this now ..very good and if honest obvious, but credit where due I did not analyse, word or post it !!

  • I kind of feel like if Phil acknowledges how unhappy trolls are, the idea should be to be nice to trolls. I've been guilty of trolling, and it's because we lead a terrible real-world existence. He is spot-on in his description, unfortunately.

  • The only thing I'm ever guilty of when it comes to trolls is trolling them. Sometimes when I'm watching videos and see some troll showing his ass, I poke him with a stick. It's so rewarding sometimes. I know, I'm bad. He has to be a genuine troll though...not just someone that's having a bad day.

  • WHY WOULD YOU MAKE A WHOLE VIDEO ABOUT TROLLS ? ISN'T THAT GIVING THEM THE ATTENTION THEY WANT ?

    KOO KOO , STUPID

  • @KelliFilkins Since he doesn't identify any of them by name, I'd say, no it doesn't.

  • @KelliFilkins

I wouldn't say it is. Because it's not aimed at any one person or comment. It's about their behavior. Actually, even though it's preaching to the choir, as the old saying goes, this video is informative. It does shine a light on that mindset, and daylight is a pretty good disinfectant.

  • HI THERE HELLO, MY NAME IS REINALDO (FAKE NAME FOR SAFETY ISSUES) I HAVE A STALKER TROLL WHO KEEPS STALKING ME EVERYWHERE I COMMENT, WHAT CAN I DO SIR ? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME GOD BLESS (IF YOU BELIEVE IN ONE)

  • I wonder if most trolls could be considered mentally ill.

  • I've been guilty of trolling NWO Reptilian Shapeshifter videos... I'm not proud. Pure insanity... and i do plead temporarily insanity. I used to listen to long streams of NephilimFree... everynight... on repeat.

The plan was to intentionally offend my mind with reality breaking delusions... The resulting backlash in my cerebrum would inspire some new story ideas for my project. It worked, lIke anti-bodies rushing to fight an infection. Now I watch this channel, and I sleep much better.

  • I'm an attention whore but i don't troll.

  • I think its fun having comment wars with them!!! :D

Just keep your comments simple and non related to their last comment.. works every time!

  • REMEMBER THOSE TROLLS PEOPLE USED TO PUT ON THE ENDS OF PENCILS?

    :

THE ONES WITH THE GREEN HAIR !!!

  • what's with the weird fuzzy lighting? lol i'm not trolling or trying to be rude or anything I'm honestly curious about the weird fuzzy lighting, heck I agree with everything you just said, I just finished cussing match with a troll on some video, he just randomly called me a fag for no reason (it was a video game review and I was asking about the game). he openly admitted he was a troll, saying he goes to all videos to do with naruto just to call them fags, I was pissed off lol

  • @AnimeFreak6781 yes this is @ myself, it's referring to my last post...... yes I do admit I raged at this guy, I raged a lot and he wasted hours of my time, I deeply regret it

  • This video doesn't help. Understanding a troll doesn't make them go away.

  • I adore blocking people. I have people I talk to and people who I don't. It's awesome.

  • My experience with some trolls has shown that once you catch their interest, they'll just keep upping the ante until ignoring them can put you at risk of being physically harmed (ie: doc dropping). However, most people who sink to this level out of a need for attention also tend to have something they deeply care about to try and feel like they're part of something bigger than themselves. (CONT.)

  • (CONT.) If you can identify just what this is, and it turns out to be something stupid (which it usually is), demonstrating why in a flagrantly ridiculing and dehumanizing manner works pretty effectively toward getting them to stop "lol"ing and start "raeg"ing, which is exactly what they were hoping to get you to do in the first place. While they may be used to being disliked, they are generally not prepared for a taste of their own medicine.

  • Actually, trolls are not deprived of attention.

They purely troll for laughs. Also known as "lulz"

  • @Gewlasthe23 i agree.. they would just move on to the other millions of people online they could troll on. ...they don't even need a response, they just feel happy being a troll most of their day!

  • I always found trolls entertaining, unless they try to make someone down for real you know.Like those kids that killthemselves because of some internet bullying.

But I take issue with the "ignorant" comment.

That term is Subjective.I assume you mean Religion/Science?

Very well done video though,I greened it=-)

  • I automatically obey and trust everything anyone tells me always.

Hey,Bullys make us tougher than them cause we had to put up with their shit;-)

  • absolutely fucking brilliant!

  • It is hard to ignore trolls, but this video helps. I need to understand these trolls are just cyber bullies looking to start trouble, and by ignoring them, I'm not giving them the satisfaction.

    Thanks for posting :)

  • This is wisdom and it can be applied to many areas of your life; from bill collectors to your obnoxious relatives! My advice is to save this video for reference throughout the years to come.

  • Ignoring trolls is difficult, but it's absolutely hilarious to watch them trying so hard to incite an emotional reaction and not get anything. If you just let them starve, they eventually leave. Strange thing is, it's opposite in real life. If you ignore them, they get the feeling it's okay to screw with you.

  • 'Intelligent trolls' are always a lot of fun though. As a man that loves a good argument i'd have thought you'd be on this side.

Do not get angry or upset, just outsmart them, correct them and laugh at them. Of course the 'lol u suk lol' should be ignored.

I mean when i'm in a place full of trolls such as youtube i'm usually not 'too busy' to have a laugh.

Starving them is an option, just leaves more for me to have fun with. :)

  • Trolls are pollution in what could be healthy discussions and argument, the fact that you block those idiots makes your videos and channel even more interesting!

  • This guy. I love him. By the way, thank you. You helped me finally decide to kick the religion I was in and make real sense of things. And here I find we have the same stance against trolls. Beautiful work. Hope you make more vids.

  • atheist are just as annoying as christians

  • @MrTroll652 Click click. Hehe.

  • I'm mad bro!

  • Whilst your video was very educational, I have one problem with it.

You say "trolls personalities are all the same", this is an ignorant assertion. There are many different types of trolling, it is not just to say the "opposite" of what you believe to be fact.

Some trolls can be very sophisticated, but I get your point, the goal of a troll will always be the same, to cause anger and or sadness.

Also, trolls don't always feel insignificant, the matter is purely subjective. Some do it for "lulz".

  • Comment removed

  • @Herbarius The personalities they generate on the internet are purely subjective and open to different outcomes, you can't make a presumptuous accusation that all of them are the same and expect it to be taken seriously.

As for their (or should I say our) real life personalities are also subjective. Not all humans are the same. There has to be at least one major difference in each person that must be taken into account before coming to a logical thesis about said person's personality.

  • Interesting. Too bad such people aren't honest enough to really study them and trust the results. I can say that your reasoning sounds plausible, though, based on personal experience. When I was younger, I went through a phase were I behaved as oddly and outspoken as possible to give my peers better reasons to dislike me. It honestly felt more empowering than being teased JUST for being short or "ugly."

  • Brillaint analysis.

    Always informative and moving.

One of my favourite vloggers, and probably one of th ebest on YouTube.

    Cheers, Philhellenes!

  • brilliant and useful video. well-said, my friend... i will keep ignoring.

  • I wish I had your ability to just ignore them.

I mourn for the hours of life I've wasted...

  • Troll here. What do you make of somebody who trolls purely for comedic purposes? Making people emotionally upset is not something I find comedic, but saying something so out of the ordinary and ridiculous that it'll get laughs is something that I find to be highly amusing. I do this despite being a good person in good social standing with my friends, family, and wife.

Do I even fall into the category of troll? Hmm.

  • Personally I think the majority of people in this world have the desire to "troll". But it shows up on the internet because they can do it anonymously, without fear of repercussion. If you don't have to worry about someone harming you in return for your harming them, it makes it easy for this behavior to surface. And at that point, it's simply a question of what kind of person you really are, deep down.

  • @fearguis Your actually spot on. That is why 4chan and Anon are respectively Anonymous in names, post and action. If we were to unmask them and open them to the real world of consequences, the flaming would screech to almost a complete halt.

  • "DNFTT" means Do Not Feed The Trolls. The best way to handle people like that is to block them and ignore them. If you argue with them you've fed them, and made them feel powerful. That said, I am usually slow to recognize trolling, and I do argue.

  • So many people I post alongside have asked me to ignore the trolls that frequent the message board's I use. I've found it almost impossible, and have been extremely frustrated as a result. I know I can ignore them now.. simply due to how you've explained why it would piss them off. Thank you:0)

  • I'm not a troll but I used to troll my friends on Facebook. I had a lot of fun and my trolling encouraged others to go on with my comments. With time this got known so I didn't get more responses and the thing got boring, then I stopped.

I think trolling is not such a big deal, and it shouldn't be.

As you well said, there's no point on answering stupid trick questions, but there isn't a point either with being angry with them, that's something that feeds them as well.

  • @gorgosanma the way to stop trolls is to IGNORE them, thus starving them for attention.

  • I used to be a troll in my high school years. I was small, and shy; no one really wanted to be my friend, as I couldn't really show them the qualities I had without knowing them really well. Somewhere along the line, I got angry, and I hung out on the computer a lot, and I started trolling. In fact, if you go onto my page, you'll see hundreds of comments, left in anger to me.

I know how they work, and if you'd like me to help you out with one, just give me a personal message.

  • Also, you are right. Ignoring them is the ultimate weapon. I feel first that you have to fight with the troll a little bit, then he'd want to mess with you. Then, that is the time to ignore and block. That's how in my opinion, how it's used.

  • Dude, there are so many ways to tell a troll is mad. They way they retaliate at you, and follow you, and call for help from other trolls.

  • well what if the troll keeps making more accounts?

  • Do you have a career in politics? I could imagine u would be very good at it.

  • When chatrooms were more fashionable, the posting of "Don't feed the trolls" was an everyday occurance. Especially the religion debate rooms I enjoyed for a while.

T'was a nice surprise to hear troll-analysis, and the only way to deal with them. Worrying about their words is a total waste of time. At least with fundamentalists you can either have a debate or a laugh.

    Interesting video !

  • Y'all trolls just got trolled.

  • I was gonna troll the video (playfully) and call the uploader a "fake ass Billy Bob Thornton".. but I got sucked in. Interesting! :)

  • Ignore the trolls :))

  • Why does the title to this video have "ANAL" in caps ?

  • @philhellenes

this is very true man like seriously, me myself, im not a vicious person nor am i being harrased by someone. Now someone at random sent me a message saying

"I fink i can be justin bieber's chick, don't you? this cracker head needs a hillbilly like me" i replied "leave me alone" and i blocked him/her ASAP. But that's not harrasment since it only happened once. I do reply to some troll/redundant comments that are offensive and try to report them but youtube OF COUSE does not care

  • @KPopEtSuteki

Of couse i love you !

  • @KPopEtSuteki

Of couse i love you !

  • I think you've got the wrong definition of the word troll. It's true that there exist people on the internet who strive to be as vile as humanly possible but often "trolling" refers to subtle deceit or leading someone on for comedic effect, such as pretending to be a conspiracy theorist to get a reaction out of people etc. I suggest that you search up "mall ninja" or "the art of trolling" for examples of this less harmful genre of trolling.

  • great video man it is so true.....

  • my policy for trolls? state "Troll" and direct them to this video.

you make me laugh phil, keep up the great work! you are the only person who has made me cry because of your videos. a good cry, a "this guys is so damn right" kind of cry.

  • @colemananthonyandrew THE proper term for trolls is : Redundant. You don't even need to care about them. Once they know they stood no ground, they just leave.

  • VIVE LES TRAULES !!! VIVE LES TRAULES !!!

  • Philhellenes...I LOVE YOU !!!

  • you people need to realize, he is only trying to explain how he deals with trolls, is it not possible that someone may have asked him"hey how do you deal with trolls?" which may have been the inspiration for this subject, putting aside the superfly account issue.try to interpret videos from the authors perspective.

  • @60schickisaDUDE hes trying to save us from the emotional pain that the trolls want us to go through. honestly id have wished i saw this video sooner, as shameful as replying to a 9-month-old post is

  • yea but somtimes someone has a genuine question, and your looking for trolls and think they have an issue with you, when all i did was ask you where the light came from, you blocked me

  • @zosozm69 "...all i did was ask you where the light came from, you blocked me."

Bullshit. I wouldn't do that. So you're blocked AGAIN. Nice one.

  • You made this video so whoever was trying to troll you must of won

  • @Simplepeepee must have won

  • I left the people who are ignorant and hate to talk about philosophy and science behind long ago. But there are lots of people, people like you, who still like it. We both are not very different at all. The only difference is, i would always leave my own personal "believe" behind (thats quite similar to yours) just to challange you, to see how much you know, how much knowledge is behind your believe.

Sorry for my bad english, have a nice day, sir :)

  • In fact i mostly encounter the same behaviour in "normal" people, as "normal" people encounter in trolls. The most reactions are insults, but i don't care. I don't want people to love me on the internet, because i can take it. In real life it's much easier, because there i have the time on my side. I can discuss nearly anyone to the ground, no matter if he is a professor or a holy man, because they simply can not defend their ideas as rapid as i can atack them. Why do not all people hate me?

  • It's this process of doubt, that helps to see the truth behind lies. There is no "real truth" and no "real lies", truth is always somewhere between a theory and it's opposite. My work as a troll (i'm not very active on youtube) is to show people, that their oppinion is not the only one, there is another point of view and so much more to learn.

Most of the time i do not work with insults, but with jokes and parodys. Sometimes i just use their own words and just rearrange them slightly.

  • Hi, i'm a Troll (even in real life) and i really like your videos. They are very smart and well spoken, thats why i want you to give a better clue to understand trolls.

Trolling is not always the same. It's not always insulting people. I would lie if i would say i never insulted someone, it happens sometimes even to me when things escalate and i am in a bad mood.

But the main idea about trolling is: Always Doubt. I never see things as they seem to be, i see "the other side of the medal"

  • @60schickisaDUDE hahahhaa good point!

  • This was life changing, now I know what to do when I'm done getting my laughs from the reaction of the trolls.

I know saying I laugh at their reactions seems like a bad thing, but I laugh at just about anything so, meh. I'm happy the way I am.

  • I don't know about this. I have trolled alot but that is primarily because of the subject. I enjoy pissing people off that have strong believes towards things that is not really important, because i hope that they will at some point look at themselves and realise that they are defending something that do not need defending.

  • Especially people trying to defend bands I find hard to not troll. I'm myself a listener of old rock and metal but people threatening other persons on the internet for not liking Led Zeppelin I just can't take seriously. I hope that by annoying them they will look at themselves and realise that what they are trying to do is stupid. You can't defend something that is only popular by subjectivity no matter if it is Led Zeppelin, Slayer, Justin Bieber or eggs and bacon.

  • @DemonDZ I like trolling comments of people who like to look smart in their wording but use bad grammar.

  • @wormwoodacoustic people with bad grammar I don't mind... maybe because I'm not perfect at that myself : D but I'm Danish and never listened to a word in class... just learned enligsh from pokemon and online games.

  • Negative attention is better than no attention. Ignore trolls FTW!

  • love his accent lol

  • 43 people must be trolls...

  • I typically cannot discern the trolls from the ignorant, so i usually end up having a bit of a chat, and taking their crap seriously. Its good practise attacking creationists when the trolls have the same cc as they do.

  • Actually, I know trolls who do it to make people thing. They portray a 'character' that is offensive, horrible, ignorant, and generally terrible. But they are doing it because they actually care, they do it because want to make you think. Some trolls are as you say, but some who are labeled trolls, are doing it because they are doing like you said in your other video: offending a few dozen or hundred or thousand people to try and make a few people think a little deeper.

  • @delladex right on. some people are so stupid and illogical that common troll mockery seems to be the only way to get through. i love to troll. i find it intensely hilarious to fuck with christians!

  • @60schickisaDUDE By making this video he's not wasting time on the trolls, he is speaking to us, not to any troll. The reason he's ignoring them is to not "feed" them. This video is not "feeding" them.

I wonder how can something this ignorant can get so many thumbs-ups.

  • Is there a reason that ANAL is capitalized?

  • Have you ever considered that some people troll to show other's what they're really like? No, no no. NOT 'trolling trolls'. Some trolls do it purely because they want other people to see the sheer stupidity in their reactions and how they waste their time reacting in the first place (think chrischan). Also, > powerless IRL. No, I know quite a few trolls who hardly fit that description. People who do have a life and things to appreciate. I dislike your use of generalization. I find it misleading.

  • Cont..... But I've seen first hand people coming together to fight a common enemy. I've even seen troll's propaganda used to help highlight the inherent flaws in what they write! It's as if they are doing it to help expose the idiots.

If any one can think of another name for this I would love to know.

  • Slightly shocked with your (what seems to be ) lack of critical thinking :( given how inspiring your other videos are to me. Surly you can be open to suggestion that there are other reasons for 'trolling'?? Have you never seen a positive reaction to less crude trolls? Maybe my definition of troll needs adjustment?

I totally agree that there is a line that shouldn't be crossed and anyone crossing it's should be blocked/ignored w/e. But I've seen first hand people coming together to fight a co

  • heil HitlerSatan Jr! the holocaust didn't happen, abortionftw gtfo teh internetz u n3wb! u r teh suxxorz. I R teh best trollz evahz. Anywho, now that I got that out of the way, trolls are stupid, ignorant, and fun to egg on if you have the sense of humor to laugh at their impotent stupidity. Though they are indeed worth pitying, for a few seconds, until they start saying they skullfuck ur mom, then they're open game. Ghoudathulhu Fhtagn!

  • This is one of the most interesting and informative videos I've come across. Thank you for your insight. I've had similar feelings towards trolls. I try to not be premature with my troll detector senses, but ignoring them is the most viable solution. Like you said it is their mentality, psychology that drives them to seek such a false form of attention. Good luck in your endeavors.

  • I think you're over analyzing the average troll. Pinned as some spiteful, un-influential, angst-driven individual.

Perhaps this is true for some of the more serious cases, but overall from what I've seen a lot of trolls are relatively normal people. Trolls aren't even always trolls online, they just at times replicate a lot of the internet humor that is out there that they've enjoyed or seen.

Not attempting to defend pointless posts, but I think your description is way over exaggerated.

  • Meh.

Everyone feels impotent or unheard or alone one time or another.

Its just part o human experience.

I loved prank calls with my friends, they were hilarious.

I find occasional clever trolling amusing, its more about the opportunity then spreading hate text to upset anyone at random (which is not fun at all), the site art of trolling has some priceless trollings.

You are describing lame 12 year olds (or with 12 yo mentality) with too much time on their hand

  • @robertjohnson487 robbie says "wanker" a lot because it is his favorite part of the human anatomy. He would suck on wankers all day long, especially big black ones, if he could. Robbie is a catcher.

  • @robertjohnson487 Why are you saying wanker? That's not american slang.

  • Of course, you could always pwn a troll and get a bunch of thumbs ups!

  • @mmmmmarcus But they'll just keep coming back if you do that. They just want attention, for anything. I think if we take his logic farther and say if no one responded to trolls they wouldn't exist, they'd be forced to get real lives.

Maybe no responding is doing them a favour.

  • @CanadaDan1971 Lol you're right. But regardless, getting 40 thumbs-ups is reassuring when you pwn someone that says something retarded.

  • @mmmmmarcus I can't argue that would be satisfying.

  • del·e·te·ri·ous - harmful; injurious; hurtful

... Please let me know your mailing address, I need to send you $5 for that word ;-)

  • youtube = youtroll

  • this is cool video. It explains exactly what a troll is: A maggot which feed on hate.

  • The most brilliant thing I've ever seen on YouTube. Wonderful advice. I'd like to shake this man's hand.

  • i like to play with the troll. i like to take away every single thing they say, so that there's nothing left for them TO say, and they just look pathetic ;)

  • i agree with you in this and all of your vids!

  • I think this is one of the best videos on Youtube.

  • Thank you.

  • @phiIhelIenes wait a tic your not the guy who made this video..well played sir

  • @phiIhelIenes I can't beat the atheist's logic.

  • @phiIhelIenes Yo meng i thought we wuz frans

  • I think you're too judgemental of trolls, it is just an activity to do out of boredom and for entertainment, just like prank phone calls. If you behave that way in real life you aren't a troll, your just an asshole.

  • OP is a fag

  • "negative attention"

  • I think you're being a little arrogant on generalizing trolls, you are spouting stereotypes and prejudices. Trolls are different people and different personalities!

  • Are you listening JOYFULVULTURE?

  • Only way to hurt a Troll is to ignore them.

    Absolutely !

  • Excellent video 5*. You are so right about these sad bastards. I've had my share of trolls myself, and it's true you can easily smell them out. I advocate free speech, I expect people to argue with me, I will even tolerate "soft" personal insults, so I leave these comments up. But trolls are different: I just block them!

  • @60schickisaDUDE he's making a video on trolls, but it's not for trolls, it's advices on how to deal with trolls.

  • @ThirdFaceofShiva i troll when bored (and most importantly when time permits) while maintaining a social life/job/relationship/etc. here's some food for thought. extremes on either end of the spectrum don't solve anything, balance is required with anything in life.

  • @ThirdFaceofShiva That remark is so unbelievably stupid. I was just trying to be objective regarding the issue. My post was a question, I'm sorry if it looked like an afirmation. I was honestly asking philhellenes for an answer...

  • @razhorblahd Sorry for late reply. The answer is YES, I have blocked at least one person thinking they were a troll. Once they started making vids they got a friend to ask me to review my (knee-jerk) decision. The person concerned was unmistakably NOT a troll. I wrote to them, apologised, and of course unblocked them. I can't remember what they initially said, or what it was about their account that made me smell troll (maybe high channel views with no vids).

  • The Game

  • Do you think you have ever blocked someone who wasn't really a troll?

What if he was genuinely disagreeing with almost everything you said and had actually posted an honest comment... even if the comment looked retarded.

  • You state alot of things I agree with except the original premis of what a troll is.

You claim a troll is merely representing the opposite view adding a malicious remark for no reason. You are thus asserting you are right, regardless.

Terrorist/Freedom Fighter. Battle of ego's in this regard.

In fact, if someone has opposing views, it is natural for them to say opposing things & even behave frustrated.

Trolls = Ad hominem &/or deliberate misinformation, either way, a covert reculcitrant!

  • Nice video.I HATE trolls. They could all die in fire.

You're the kind of person who cant go to 4chan loool.

  • Aloha!! Keep it up!!

BTW.. if you didn't see Dragons Or Dinosaurs Creation Or Evolution... Tha movie... Watch it. Here you will see how few ten dorks are trying to persuade ppl how Noa (that sailor) had also small dinosaurs on his megaboat:O

This scared the sheept out of me!!! How far bible can bring people:O

For them it feels more true than NYcity phonebook :( Its year 2010 and so many still belive that pyramids were flying around sun before the earth was made:(

    Greets!!

  • some people never grow up....

  • @60schickisaDUDE This vid is perfectly fine for the general points he's making. He's not making a vid toward any specific troll, I don't think.

  • I figured they were just trolls instead of prank callers or what ever they were in the generations before that.

  • Me, I just troll people I find annoying. Like fundies and rightards and such.

I troll those for shits and giggles when I'm bored or feel like letting someone who deserves it have it.

I also think it's funny when people assume trolls have sad little lives. I have a great life really. It's trolling victims that tend to have worse lives actually. Much like bullying victims.

But you know, I don't troll people I like. Even though I AM harshly critical of them sometimes. Which some see as trolling.

  • @Shavarnarak

Ultimately though, a troll is a bully.

Me I like to bully bullies, like loudmouth rightards and fundies and such. Bullies are actually fun to bully. Most can't stand up in a fight. You just gotta be the bigger bully then them. But I don't stick around much to debate them. I just mock them and head off soon enough.

I sometimes troll ridiculous people too. You know, you're CWC's and such.

  • From Encyclopedia Dramatica: Lulz is laughter at someone else's expense. This makes it inherently superior to lesser forms of humor. Anonymous lives for it. There's warfare all over the net over it.

  • i think you made too much assumptions about trolls. I agree about starving 'em to death! haha

  • I Love being an ignorant Troll and fapping to cp

  • Great video. Probably the best one I've seen on the subject, and a fascinating little piece of amateur psychology. I don't even go so far as to block a troll, since that might be regarded as another form of noticing them. My policy is to leave their stupidity and ignorance up on my channel for all time for all to see. (After all they're only making themselves look like asses, I don't feel it's any reflection on me.) Thumbs up and subbed. Guess now I'll go check out your channel.

  • This is very interesting.

However; your psychological profile of the borderline personality disordered isn't exactly accurate.

Consider this: the aliased troll may have another widely known, non-anonymous channel - they are not necessarily "looking for love", or "coveting".

I am being harassed by a moderately well known YTuber in the Atheist comm. It's a form of trolling that doesn' t fit your profile, or MO. He has serious mental/emotional issues, but I am not his therapist.

  • @xy11xy Well, it was a generalisation. I really must stress that whenever I'm talking about the mind it must only be a generalisation, with exceptions. Sorry to hear you're having grief. I'd block them and be done with it. You'd change your number if you were having malicious calls wouldn't you? Same thing, kinda. :)

  • @philhellenes I actually feel sympathetic for em? The way you explained them...Pretty sad stuff :(

  • @philhellenes Dude! Answer my question from the other vid man! Been waiting ages now :( / >:l

  • @xy11xy I think most trolls simply want attention and are generally pathetic and unhappy in their day to day life so the only real joy they know is the thrill of knowing that they're irritating other people. There is a cheap thrill to be had in it, to knowing you've really gotten to someone, for the troll I think their lives are often so pathetic that this is the only joy their miserable little lives hold...

  • @xy11xy in comics they are delusional and go by the name of hero, whether right or wrong, they see wrongs that must be made right. you must need saving

  • You got it wrong really... there are more then your definition of trolls. For example people being intentionally impossible to reason with (kind of like creationists)...

They are kinda the smartypants of trolls either being to vague or making sure they cant be proven wrong while not being (atleast obviously) right. Mostly these attack religious people because they are dedicated yet still cant do anything

  • Don't analyze me, but: I am beginning to really dig ya...!

    ~Tammi~

  • I'd disagree, not ALL trolls are alike. Some are of the "fat" kind - straight out rude and playing stupid, but some play more filigrane, intelligent... hmm, but you know, most of the second kind are the ones who tease and fight the fat trolls... wich turns out to be useless, "fatties" don't get smart jokes and sarcasm.

So, agree, nothing than else than ignoring works.

  • @SwineNahNah Not really, fat trolls aren't really trolls, they're just fucking around being annoying. The real trolls, the ones under the bridge who torment goats, are intelligent sly cunts who thrive on misery. There's a big difference

  • Excellent video. I'm being tormented by a troll called Moonmoney1 right now, and I did the worst thing possible by making videos about the issue. Now I realise ignoring her will just make her squirm.

  • Lol One troll made several accounts and tried to spam my videos. I allowed each comment once, replied, then banned. Soon the yeasty cunt started losing it, and then gave me evidence to have him banned from youtube for a few months. Lol it was great. He came back and apologized, then reported me for harassment, not knowing that even a "deleted" comment is still there. He's banned again. lol!

  • Great video! Trolls are simply 'bullies.' I like to call them 'cyber-bullies' on the net. Same kind of people. But some trolls seem quite intelligent. They will not use foul language or threats--but will persist in ongoing debates and threads because they ALWAYS have to have the LAST WORD to prove how smart they are, no matter what. Before you know it, they've engaged others to argue--that way, they have more people to harass!
