the first one wasn't a bug when you placed the redstone it changed the dirction of the bottom redstone so it wasn't facing the the block the piston was on (yes this is important) so the piston became unpowerd so it retracted and brought back the gold block but now that the block is in the way of the top redstone that you placed and the bottom redstone they cant connect so it goes back to pointing towards the piston so it gets powered again.

minecraft 1.1.0, there is a chance if you are walking on a kind of 'floor' of redstone repeaters, you can fall through them temporarily, and if you are on bedrock level on flatland, you freefall into the void and have to start again, please fix this mojang, and also let this warn redstone users to be wary of repeaters!

The most annoying bug is when you power a block in diagonal of a piston. That powers the piston but when you turn the power off it does not retract.
