  • What a bad quality test. Trash!

  • I think the lights were sort of designed to be installed on the roof.

  • Hi.. Thank you for taking the time to put this video up.. Saved me doing the test myself..

    0:06 Fluorescent

    2:16 LED

There is quite a drop in light output between the fluorescent and the LED.

20W power consumption on the LED..

What was the consumption for the fluorescent fitting.. I realise it's rated at 40W but I wondered if that is the actual power consumption of the fitting..?

  • LED sucks!!!

  • It seems that LED are warm white and probably not very efficient. The florescent tube is cold withe and the lux-meter and eye is more sensitive to that but not as pleasant.

  • @electrodacus LEDs are great in small applications such as torches and room lighting but when you go large they need large heat sinks, LEDs put out a lot less heat and invisible electromagetic radiation than other forms of lighting, the ones that are rated high energy are very small for their energy consumption so heat dissipation is poor, heat sinking is required.

  • Nice. But you should have disabled autoexposure/gain on your cam. Otherwise, from the image itself it's not clear which lamp gives a brighter light.

  • @genivici He put the two lamps together side by side. You aren't able to tell how bright both are but you can tell the difference in brightness. :)
