I traded in my Mustang IV for a Vox AC15C1 as I had a Fizz problem. I liked the idea of having a USB port, so I just ordered a used Tonelab ST and it will be here on Monday. I also bought the
VFS2 pedal, which is only good for the tremelo and reverb, but I wish I could use it for the top boost.........Can someone here explain to me what I would need to do to use the VFS2 for the top boost and regular.....or are the buttons on the new ToneLab going to be able to do that for me? Thanks for help
@ctguy1955 It is unfortunate that you can't switch between top boost and regular by default, but you can do it with an A/B/Y switch pedal. You would need 1/8" cables running into each channel and then the switch pedal would determine which channel you're using, or both. I don't have one, but I do have the VFS2 pedal and I'm sure that would work no matter what configuration of A/B/Y you have going since the Reverb/Tremelo effects work on either channel. Good luck!
@surfinthetao SUPER easy replacement! Just unscrew the old one, unplug the left/right RCA cables, and take it out. Rescrew/replug in the cables on the new one and you're set!
i just checked the vox forums. someone from vox said you can do it but you will get no volume boost, only gain since the preamp tubes will be running parallel. so everyone you should be good to go if you want to try this.
I got this amp. I just got a cable that allows me to plug one guitar into both channels at the same time. Is it safe to turn up the volume all the way on both channels when I do this?
@warmlion I did upgrade the tubes to JJ EL84's and the amp really sings now. It has a standard Greenback speaker in it (not worth it to me to spend 75% of the cost of the amp on upgrading the speaker).

Is this an easy replacement? Is there any modification you have to make to the amp besides just dropping it in?

@surfinthetao I'm no expert on the subject, but I do know it is safe to run both channels at once. Running full volume with both? I'm not sure...

@surfinthetao Yes its fine, and it sounds good.

Cool. I just ordered a MOD for my AC15C1 based on this. Have you done any other modifications to this amp that you have found beneficial?

Just got the same reverb tank for my Peavey Envoy. Beautiful looking guitar you have there.
