@cmaszerowski I have the 09 crew with the 6.2 and an 05 crew with the 5.3 and they are equipped the same (LTZ, 3.42 axle, Z71), the gas mileage is pretty much the same between the two of them.

5.7 is no longer offered in any GM lineup. The 5.7 is the infamous 350 and it has been replaced by engines slightly smaller but great power houses like the 5.3 with fuel economy in mind or the beast of an engine that you see here, the 6.2 V8

You are correct, I haven't had the 6.2L myself yet, but I have had the 4.3 V6, 5.7 V8 and the 5.3 V8, none have stopped running and sold all of them over a 200K, never had a Chevrolet Truck quit on me. That is why I work here, most loyal truck owners ever.

i know the 4.8l is a 302cu. the 5.0l is a 305cu. the 5.3l is a 327cu.and the 5.7l was the 350cu. i also think that the 6.0l is a 396cu.......................by­t what is the 6.2l cubic inch and is it avalible in the Z71 package???????????

the 4.8 is not 302 its 291 c.i the 5.3 is actually a 325 c.i the 6.0 is a 364. i dont know the 6.2 but im sure its somewhere between 374 and 378

The only thing that truck is missing is Z71 and the cargo management tracks. I would have rather had the 6.0L with active fuel management and VVT. You give up about 30HP, but gets better mileage and is a higher tech engine.

Yes, you are correct in a sense. Very similar in build yes, but being detuned I wouldn't say that. Just tuned differently because of the application it is in. I promise the 6.2L V8 in this Silverado will blow any truck lovers mind.

I am not for sure but being the way it is built i would guess that the C6 Corvette motor options would be close to it. The 6.2L V8 engine here is based of the same engine as the Corvette.
