@HumansStupid SO treat a book better than a human??? But you can still read the book so do something about it make a tutorial on how to actually flip a book legitly. My god seriously I understand flip by corners but do you have to pretend to be a historian.
@HumansStupid So where were you when this appeared? Why did not YOU do something about it? It is very easy to complain from the safety of false name about what someone else does, it is much more difficult to do something practical.
I am sure your published material is much better than mine - but something tells me you have published nothing here which is usually the case with the likes of you.
It will be really interesting to see if you could get better photos. Thank you by the way for responding so quickly!
An interesting thing is that the signatures look's pretty good, specially the Schwartz signature. The only signature that seems strange is the Himmler signature, but it might be that it's not to clear on the video.
But the handwriting on the backside of the photo are not Himmler's. It's either someone trying to make it look like Himmlers. Or just someone else wrote it
As for the price. 50k would also might be a low value, as personality items from the third reich leaders are highly popular among collectors. I knew that Himmler's pilot license was sold for 19k. And that is a rather boring ID compared to his party book, so 50k would be IMO a fine starting price on auction.
I would indeed love to see closer photos of it, and i could promise you that i with 100% certain could figure out if it's a good one. I could contact a document expert i know.
@TheReichskommissar Unfortunately I don't have any. The document is in Los Angeles - maybe next time I am there I will be able to get some photographs for you - maybe also a HD film.
Unfortunately before I went to the US I lost my charging cable which meant that all the time I was there I had a borrowed Kodak and I had to convert films from Apple format to .avi with a consequent loss in quality which probably was not much good to start with!
The book it self is original, the stamps are original. And the photos are most likely original. It's just that it's strange that a 39 issue would have a pre 33 signature. I have examined hundred's of these books, and i don't think i've seen a 39 issue with early signature.
As for the story. I don't have a number for all those super rare high ended items that supposedly belonged to Himmler, Hitler, Göring, Goebbels that i have seen. All with a funny story
Third reich stuff are highly valuable. But it all depends on wither it's common or not, stamps are common. Heinrich Himmler's party book is not common. I still have my doubts on this book, the signature of Hitler is very early, before 1933. It's from the first NSDAP party books, this one's issue from 39 so it don't fit in. And the photo is even later. The book is a forgery with 95% certain.
If this book was original, then the price would be high. At least 50 k
@TheReichskommissar Given the story of its origin and what I have been told by two experts then I believe it is probably genuine but in all honesty I do not know. I do however accept the objections placed on this channel in the comments.
I am surprised about the price though. I would have thought it had a value of no more than one fifth what you said although the owner thought it has a value similar to what you think.
Idk, third Reich stuff doesn't seem to be so valuable, for right now I beleive, my grandfather has third Reich stamps which look quite similar to the ones in the video, but aren't really worth much, idk maybe Himlers stamps r more valuable, do u have any idea host ??? have u tried placing this item in auction ?? Has any museums taken any interest on this particular item??
@xCaptxCrunchx I can tell you a bit about Himmler but I can't tell you anything about the market for memorabilia. Just is not my scene - so sorry don't know!!
I have to say I question the authenticity of this book. First, how did it get to Los Angeles? Secondly, if it were authentic, it would certainly be very valuable, probably a museum piece. I don't think it would available in the open air or people to "thumb" through it. If it is real, it certainly need to be preserved in a much better fashion.
There is a 1944, publication, called, The Nazis Go Underground" How the Nazis planned to keep intact the apparatus of the National Socialist Party, some departments were combined, while other departments were dissolved.Like the current United Nations,European Union and NATO. SS Heinrich Himmler HQ were @ 11A Koenigsallee Berlin Grunewald 14193, now the apparent resident is the business of "Dr. Boris Ostapowicz"
If that's not a fake, then you should not be touching any part of it with your bear fingers. Use plastic gloves, and tweezers, otherwise old paper will deteriorate rapidly.
I admit his fingers are stocky but they are not thick like bear fingers. Don't bears have paws though? And wouldn't a metallic tweezers do more damage than 'bear fingers'. Those lovely fur covered bear paws would not damage paper, unless his claws were out. Look up [Funny Bear VS John West] now I wouldn't let that bear handle it.
My grandfather also had such a book. In his book, of course, was not signed by Hitler. But he was not as close as Hitler, Himmler! It is quite clear that such a SS man like Himmler is photographed in full uniform! But think again before you immediately after einwenig denounced as a forgery everything! excuse for my bad english, I'm from Germany.
I'm sorry to tell you that it does not matter if your grandfather had a book like this one. Today they are making fakes that looks just like the originals. Only because originals exists does not proof that this book is genuine. And the photo of Himmler is a published photo. This book would have to be looked at by experts, and just to say. It has already been discussed by leading experts and found fake on Wehrmacht Awards Forum with mebers as D. Niemann.
And the signature next to Hitler is SS Oberstgruppenführer Und Generaloberst Der Waffen SS Franz Xaver Schwartz. He served as Reichsschatzmeister (National Treasurer) of the Nazi Party during most of the Party's existence.
Or you can try to send it to Detlev Niemann in Germany, he knows if this is a fake or not. Niemann is likely the man who knows most about stuff like this one.
send it to "collectors guild" in canada, Pete will tell you if its genuine..dont listen to amateurs, himmler was a swine coward, a real man would have fought to the death w his troops , not run and hide like himmler
Now i know why this book is a fake. The photo of Heinrich Himmler was published in 1942 by the magazine "Volk und Rasse" And this book is ausgabe 1939, one for each year. So the photo and the book does not belong to each other is. Also the photo in This book is a wery famous photo of the Reichsführer and it can easely be found with a quick search.
It is fake, because if Himmler had an total different signature in the 30´s as this later signature in that booklet. Furthermore, Himmler already became an NSDAP member in 1923.
Also, it is NOT Himmlers handwriting on this sheet.
Yes it is, this is one of the worst fakes ever!! And you are right, that is not Heinrich Himmlers writing on the sheet, just someone sadly trying to fake his Handwriting. I have just been in contact with a document collector, and he tells me that this book is 100% preewar. Hitlers signature looks correct because it is stamped, Hitler did not sign all the Party books, not eaven Himmlers. Also, the signature next to Hitlers is not correct
If this is Heinrich Himmlers party book then it is treaten to bad. He should be waring white gloves if this was Himmlers party book. And stuff like this is so easy to fake. Sorry for my English
And so why didn't you provide the white gloves? Or are you just another parasite that does nothing but complain and expect to get everything for nothing.
I have collected WW2 german documents for several years so i know what i talk about! And if you need to know, there are soo many copys of stuff like this book out on the market. It may of course be an original party book, This book has been discussed on one of the worlds biggest ww2 forum, and most of the people there is laughing of it. And if the book is original it belongs on a museum! And it is not as you call it "ID papers" But a NSDAP membership book, that is different you know!
You claim to know what you are talking about but you fail to give one reason that it is a fake other than to say that most people on a forum are laughing at it. Well done, that is pretty scientific. You certainly do not appear to me to know what you are talking about.
As for the title there is a limit in space which I used up completely. These are Nazi party identification papers (or a copy of such).
What winds me up are these complainers. I am good enough to use my resources, time and money to put this up and all I get is complaints. Next time I won't bother.
Good god almighty, Alan what were you thinking? This is an ultra rare historical artifact and you had no idea what you were doing. I'm speechless as is the TR document collection community...
Third Reich, sorry for the abrv. But this is a museum quality piece and opening historical artifacts of this nature should only be done by some one with training. A book for instance should have its pages turned at the top right corner only.
I didn't mean to make anyone mad......but the page was riped as he was handling it....we all saw it........his bare fingers with his oils were .transfered to the pages.....pages were turned like it was just picked up from the book store...and this rare and unique piece of history was, well, not treated like the relic it is.....if it really is....?
Hi again Alan, The cellophane wrapper containing the was the photo with the rip in it was damaged a little with the rip been extended and the AH signature looks like no AH signature that has ever been seen. Also the HH photo is suspect as press photos ( as this is and published in 1941 ) were never used in party books. I'm losing faith in this one fast. Clever forgery me thinks...
@Frankiebboy The Hitler signature is perfectly fine normal early signature, it's dated to the mid-late 1920s. I have owned many hand signed Hitler letters from that period with rock solid provenance from Hitler's housekeeper, the signature is identical to the one in the book shown here (at least from what i can see). The problem is that the book is a later issue, where this type of signature almost never appeared. Studio portraits was uncommon in these books, but i have seen them appear.
A rare document if it's real. Cotton gloves should be worn when handling this. Sweaty fingers are a big no-no. The guy who owns this is no curator. On the other hand maybe he's got a big pile at home, starting with Julius Caesar's.
Yes, you are absolutely right on that one. I did wash my hands very carefully before touching it.
In archives I always wear gloves but also because touching papers that may not have been touched for sixty five years that collect dust can be positively unhealthy.
so that thing is Himmlers ID book. thats crazy that these things are still around. if its real it should be in maumase and not being sold from one person to another as that is how these things get lost.
that guy treats this piece of history like his childrens trash.,,,,when he is showing the picture of Himler, he actually rips the little plastic cover. he uses one hand to turn the pages and made the video right next to the street with trucks passing by.....who ever owns this SHOULD NOT LET THIS MAN HANDLE THAT PIECE OF HISTORY......HE IS A IDIOT.....!HE IS DESTROYING IT...................
What the hell you are talking about, trucks passing by, so what. Where hes post to be, middle of no where, or maybe shut the window, huh?? And what plastic cover, it aint plastic, it is very thin paper I dont know what that is called in English. What you say Alan? And it´s allready ripped.
Clearly this Terry has an anger problem. Where else would he suggest I see it. I am trying to film in difficult circumstances and it was me who suggested outside because of the sunlight.
I am sorry that I have brought up negative feelings.....it just looked like the picture cover was torn when you handled it, maybe not...and when we see something so rare on the internet, and we usually see fakes, well, it is a "treat" and combined with the possiable rip and the hasty way of filming, it just seemed like the document could have been treated a little more gingerly..........sorry. please don't give it another thought.....thanks for just showing it in the first place!
I 'm sure Irving would like to get his paws on it.I' sure some collectors of Nazi memorabilia would kill to get their hands on it. I bet Irving is on the next flight to LA.
Damn, that Personal Ausweis must be worth 10's of 1000's of dollars if not more. What a piece of Nazi history! If I were the owner of this artifact I would not want anyone to know I have this in my possession. Crazy you got to see this, Alan - thanks for filming it for the rest of us.
Thanks for writing. I only seem to be getting complaints from the usual parasites which makes me wonder why I bother. But when I see comments like yours then I know it is worthwhile.
From my limited experience of TR sigs this does indeed look genuine. If you need positive confirmation on any part of this item I can recommend 'The' AH signature expert in the field to you and thks for showing such a rare item nearly if not more rare than HH pilot license found about three years ago...
I ask a clear question and I am not getting an answer but that is what one expects from those that willingly throw out abuse but fail to back it up with facts. No-one has pointed out any damage caused by me.
As far as I am aware I have no appointments in Poland in October, indeed for most of the month I will be in other countries. Of course things may change.
I Love this Video and also I checked out your Channel. Very interesting! If you need any help getting this Video and your Channel exposed to where it is on top in all the searches. I found this site called tubeviews.(net) that has took my breath away. I'm working on my 4th Channel now, this one I just made. My Videos are getting so many hits now. Check it out and keep in touch.

I wouldn't put it quite so rudely, but terryshalb45 does have a good point here.
Mr Heath should NOT be touching rare historical documents so carelessly and unprofessionally as this. (He has damaged this one live on film!)

So why don't you put your money where your mouth is?
Send some cotton gloves for me to use.
Or better still, next time pay for my flight to go back there once I have picked up my own from home.
Frankly I doubt you will do it but surprise me.

Hi Alan
From my limited experience of TR sigs this does indeed look genuine. If you need positive confirmation on any part of this item I can recommend 'The' AH signature expert in the field to you and thks for showing such a rare item nearly if not more rare than HH pilot license found about three years ago...

Thanks very much for the offer which I may come back to you on.
Personally I am not a collector of things but I understand the need of authentication for such things.

Alanheath: "I only seem to be getting complaints from the usual parasites."

Mr Heath, If you are alluding to me, I would politely suggest that you re-read my posts. I have not made a "complaint". I have merely made a comment.
I fully respect the fact that you disagree with me, but it is very unfortunate that your only considered reaction is to call me vulgar names.
(From one of David's associates I would have hoped for a little more courtesy, quite frankly...)

Not just you but also the rude comments which have been deleted.
I am good enough to spend my time, energy and money to give people a free service and all I get is sarcastic comments.
alanheath 2 years ago
I asked you earlier what damage I caused and you did not reply.
I ask again. What damage did I cause?

Alanheath: "What damage did I cause?"

Earlier comments have pointed that out clearly enough, have they not?
Sigh.
Look, I really don't want silly arguments, so I'm not going to continue this exchange. I have no problem with you and I wish you all the best.
(BTW Perhaps this "parasite" will be meeting you in Poland come October?)
shedsevenfan 2 years ago
I ask a clear question and I am not getting an answer but that is what one expects from those that willingly throw out abuse but fail to back it up with facts. No-one has pointed out any damage caused by me.
As far as I am aware I have no appointments in Poland in October, indeed for most of the month I will be in other countries. Of course things may change.

I repeat:
"I really don't want silly arguments, so I'm not going to continue this exchange. I have NO problem with you and I wish you ALL THE BEST. "
(Spot the "abuse", folks...)

I just can't get an answer to a straight question.

Now that´s very interesting piece of history. And it´s mint condition. I cant say either is it real or fake but interesting it is.
KNIhokki 2 years ago 4
I think it is genuine.
