very cool tank i was hoping to get one of these to make into a freshwater community tank but right now my SW tank is to much work. i want to get corals when i have the proper lighting to house them. hey you should come check out my video ask question give advice whatever you want.
any powerhead with a similar flow rating will do fine, it doesn't have to be a specific brand. As a matter of fact, the only ph currently in my office tank is an AC 10 - the emperor failed.
yeah e bay has live rock for really cheap i got 28 pounds of premium fiji rock for 110 bucks an i got my sand from there to ebay is way cheaper on live rock
Here in Canada, you can't get live rock cheaper than $3 a pound, and that's used. Mine cost $4 a pound and I bought online at a canadian store. Yes there are online stores that ship to canada. :)
It was my first saltwater so I wanted to be around in case anything went seriously wrong. I can handle the 2 gallon water change every other week here at work just fine, lol.
Very nice, looks to be really healthy, looks a lot like my tank honestly, but mine isnt near complete yet. On a personal note, i would suggest more color, but coraline algae should come in over time and add some, u could do a few more feather dusters for color too... looks great though, very good job!
If you don't have a sufficient money supply, then you definatly can not afford a marine tank. You need live rock, which acts as a biological filter. That costs about $7/lb, and you need atleast 1.25lbs of live rock for every gallon you have in your tank. You also need a better lighting system which can vary from $200-$3000 depending on what corals you want to grow. You also need about 4 inches of live sand. Test kits,a sump, possibly a skimmer. It adds up to a $1000,if not then more.key=research
7 bucks a pound ur either buying from a pet store or getting ripppped off i get fiji rock for 2 bucks a pound and u can get pc compact lighting for lik 120 bucks depending on how big
im talking MH lighting for a small reef. You can get LR for $2/lb, but I unfortunately can't since I live in Canada, and still havn't found any website that ships any livestock or live rock to Canada. Here, the cheapest you're going to find is $3.50/lb, and thats not from a store, but from a person selling their aquarium, which I personally dont trust. So I guess my opinion is a little biased.
nice :D
