@Danitushful When you talk to the Guide, he says that your house should have walls (the ones that are actually called walls in-game), and chair, a table, a door, and a light source. The place that they stand at night also has to be a block other than a wooden platform or anything that acts like a platform (things where you can stand on and press the down arrow key to get to the next floor).

@Danitushful At nighttime, all NPCs will go into their homes and pick one spot near a chair and table to stand for the entire time. The spot they'll stand on at the time can't be a wooden platform. The house also needs to be at least 10 tiles wide and 8 tiles high.

well, there's nothing i see modded in this video, but i chose this video to post the comment on because this was so popular. But one mod he uses in a video was the terraria viewer, which i do admit, even i use, BUT i completed the entire game, then downloaded it.
