I use to love this part of the soundtrack when I was a kid. However I never thought of it as a theme of "Luke on the verge of turning to the dark side", because the melody doesn't sound like that at all. Now, after seeing all 6 movies, this song too me represents Luke's last attempt to bring Anakin back to the good side. Luke knows if he fails, he's dead, so this was his last chance to diffuse his father. The "theme" is triumphant, sad yet victorious only because Luke succeeds.

I once viewed it as a turning of the tables. By the end of the duel, Vader was seeing the light, whilst Luke was enraged with anger and drifting into the dark.

If they ever turned the Yuuzahn Vong war from the EU into a series of movies, I'd want this to play when Anakin Solo (son of Leia and Han, named after Anakin Skywalker, for those who don't know who I'm talking about) unifies with the Force and gives his life to save everyone.

I wouldn't want any other track to play during that moment.

This tune gives me goosebumps! It is so emotional, epic and powerful. It has got fo be the second best soundtrack in the Star Wars saga after 'A Hero Falls'. I think 'A Hero Falls' is an absolute musical masterpiece that not even this soundtrack equates with. Although, this soundtrack is 100 x better than 'Duel of the Fates'. That soundtrack just gets annoying because it is so over used.
