@phonebush You are correct! Children learn to mistreat animals from thier parents or siblings at a young age. It teaches a lack of empathy for others. Lack of empathy is a dangerous thing to allow to develop in a baby or not. When I was a volunteer for the ASPCA in college I saw ample examples of children developing sociopathic tendencies by being allowed to mistreat family pets. I eventually had to quit the ASPCA because I got to where I just hated people in general.

I think this is not the first time this happens and that's why the person is recording it. The baby was crying at the beginning of the video. I don't see this as funny but a bit cruel. The baby will probably be psychologically scarred and won't like cats all his life period and cats are great pets. The person who recorded this is cruel for even putting the baby on the edge of the bed. he/she was probably saying "bad kitty" and having the baby hit the cat.
