The patch at 1:47 is very Kraftwerk-esque if you ask me, in fact nearly all of the synth patches here are! Good job showing this synth off :)

Ohh I see :) Congtrats! I upgraded my Prophet 5 to rev 3.31 recently and it kept most of the sounds actually but you newer know? I have the presets as wave if you need them also as sysex. I tried to load the presets via sysex but it didn't work too good, maybe I need to slow down the speed the data is transfered because most of the sounds didn't sound like they should.

Ah right, I presume that's the Wine Country kit then. My tech put the presets into my extra two banks (thanks anyway) and restored some of my original sounds so will have to check if I still have the one you mention. Not tried sysex on mine yet, midi trigger works OK but the P5 has to be the last bit swtched on in the midi chain or it doesn't work ! Not sure if this is normal.

@JMPSynth Hi, Yes it i the wine country midi on it, I had the old midi installed so I only had to change the eprom to get the latest midi version so you can have it in omni off and change midi channels. Regarding the midi chain i'm not sure since I have it last in the chain I haven't experienced any problems really. I actually managed to get the model 1005 poly sequencer for it as well :)

Btw, your Emulator II demo is really good too!

Thankyou. Sorry, I don't have the settings for the sounds, not sure if I still have the last one actually. I've just upgraded to OS 3.3.1 with a midi installation and will likely have lost it.

Excellent. I used to get a VERY similar sound to the opening notes with an OB8 by opening the filter with a DOD FX17 pedal. Foolishly sold it.

Prophet 5 is the one I dream about now.

I sold my j6 because it just couldn't touch my p5 in overall warmth, bandwidth, and BASS.

My all digital Alesis ION sounds warmer and is more versatile, seriously.

@SPAZZOID100 I'd have to disagree that a J6 can't sound warm (a subjective term, admittedly), it's just bettered by the other big polys that were around back then. One of its 'weaknesses' is actually a strength, as I found the J6 sat in a mix easily. I had an Ion (and subsequently, a Micron) and while they are excellent synths with a staggering amount of modulation possibilities, I didn't feel they sounded as 'alive' as the J6, for want of a better term. All personal preference, of course ;-)

True...there are many other poly's of the era which have such a beefier sound.

The J6 isn't a bad synth, but it isn't as exciting as it's bigger brother, the J8.

I really think the ION has more personality than the J6.

@SPAZZOID100 That's exactly it - how could Roland follow up a JP8?! The J6 must have been quite a disappointment back then - what I liked most about it was the multi-mode filter. I didn't rely on it for low end - my Minimoog covered that magnificently. That said, I think my Juno 60 probably pipped the J6 on bottom-end, sharing the same filter as the J8 probably helped there! Cheers!
