@hayesbigpoppa Hardcore skinheads are skinheads who mainly associate with hardcore instead of Oi!, ska, soul or other music genres associated with the skinhead subculture.Starting in the early 1980s, there were many skinheads in the New York hardcore scene, although Detroit, Chicago, Seattle and Boston also had strong scenes. Skinheads became prevalent towards the end of the first wave of hardcore, and this continued through the youth crew era of hardcore.

@symond as this was pre internet it had very little connection to the uk origins of skinheads, but the fanzines of the era were connecting people across the atlantic, taking off in the early 90's after tha main skinhead era in the uk had passed

@convener777 the skinhead culture started in the uk in the 60's. it came from the mods and the early music connected was from jamaica, early reggae and soul, youth fashion developed from the teenagers of the 50's skinheads was at its height at the time of the fall of empire, the mass immigration into the uk. high unemployment and racial conflict, hence the skinheads became labelled by the press as the face of racism, this is what got exported,

@convener777 in the modern day there are muslim skinheads in indonesia, middle class left wing skinheads in scandinavia, old british skinheads who love 2tone and punk rock, it basically covers the entire spectrum, in the usa they had a scene in new york called hardcore which embraced the skinhead style. the media version is a very tiny part of it
