@tylerwalker2 males rarely get to 8 foot and medium rats are too big IMO for hid size. Boas grow much slower than pythons so if they are overfed they become overweight extremely quickly. If you want a snake that you can slam food into get a python. I just got a male retic today and i dont doubt that he will be at least 7 foot by this time next year.
@hijiledwag mine isnt getting overweight and ive been feeding him mediums for about 2 months now hes just got longer and gained more muscle, still has nice muscle definition and all that and there is no scale seperation when i feed him anymore so ya...

5*s Beautiful Boa and big boas are great to work with and people really should do research before buying ANY snake. My two ten footers are amazing and it does take extra work and energy and effort but it's so rewarding to watch their progress.

Surely the best snake is the one that suits your lifestyle the most. No point in having a 20ft long one that eats your kids when you can have a 4ft long one that they can enjoy too. Hi! Um...I started off with 8 corns, one russian rat snake. From there I went to ball pythons. I then started visiting pet stores where they held adult boas. I visited them often and learned how to handle the larger size for a couple years now. I recently discovered a rescue python 8ft and she's a total sweetheart. Is there anything that "they" don't tell you about these beauties because I'm getting her for Christmas!
That rescued 8 ft python is obviously a burmese, reitculated or one of the bigger pythons. ALso, that snake in particular is still a baby! believe it or not.. I would guess that its only 2 years old right now, but when fully grown it can be up to 20 feet! Do you really have enough floor space to build a huge custom enclosure to house a 20 foot snake? Are you going to be able to feed this animal when fully grown? These are questions you need to ask yourself. Once you buy it you cant get rid of it

It is very commen for ball pythons to just stop eating.that happens to lot of ball pythons, they ussally recover and then they are fine soon after that.

Oh jeez. I can't imagine getting bitten by that thing, I have trouble enough just interracting with it in the first place. Well, not that I'm really a kid though but still. But in all honesty why don't the snakes bite more often? I mean why isn't this boa biting this dude the way he's just hoistering her around? Hell, I had a parrot that bit more than these snakes.

Hi! Um...I started off with 8 corns, one russian rat snake. From there I went to ball pythons. I then started visiting pet stores where they held adult boas. I visited them often and learned how to handle the larger size for a couple years now. I recently discovered a rescue python 8ft and she's a total sweetheart. Is there anything that "they" don't tell you about these beauties because I'm getting her for Christmas!

That rescued 8 ft python is obviously a burmese, reitculated or one of the bigger pythons. ALso, that snake in particular is still a baby! believe it or not.. I would guess that its only 2 years old right now, but when fully grown it can be up to 20 feet! Do you really have enough floor space to build a huge custom enclosure to house a 20 foot snake? Are you going to be able to feed this animal when fully grown? These are questions you need to ask yourself. Once you buy it you cant get rid of it

Actually I did decide against it! I also meant to type "boa" she was a red tail *oops* I was thinking of my ball python when I typed it :x But yeah, I instead have a tiny baby central american imperator boa, so I'm going to stick with that. Just found out she's a female too so that caught us by surprise, I was told she was a male, but after a few weeks I decided to pop her myself, ta da, female. Bigger than I first expected her to grow but that's alright, as long as I'm growing with her

requirements and ease of care wise they are good beginner snakes its only down to there size i would have to agree with you when children are involved! but i had a BCC for my first snake and never looked back. but i am not a small guy so that helps!

I agree to a Extent. well Most ball Pythons are wild Caught 9 out of 10 die in Pet stores Because they will not eat However If you get one from a Breeder they are nice and Get fat and Impressive along with Being docile.But I do agree with you it is not the BEST the best is a Corn snake they do not require heating and can take a Beating form newbies and very strong and long to live fighters...I love my corns they are all a little chunky But great snakes!

corns dont suck there a great pet and better than balls i mean they might get well fatter but corns way longer and a corn is abit quick when baby but when older they can also fery well "chill around your neck" they are also very strong snakes in the sence that they dont get illlnesses quickly unlike ball witch need very specifick heating i mean balls might be abit more atractive to get as a baby but corns are better in the long run btw im not saying this cos like i have a corn i have a BRB 2

Wow you don't know shit. Ball pythons rarely exceed 4.5 to 5 feet in length. Corn snakes, depending on the species, can get over 6 feet long, I would know, I have both. Actually you can look that up anywhere and it's the same answer.

yes they ARE there better than a stupid corn suck, rat suck, king suck or milk suck.....if they dont eat for a couple of months after theyve been feeding good then let them starve for a bit....my male didnt eat for almost 9 months....i only tried a couple of times to feed him.....i let him go for a while with no tries he eventually got hungry and is eating again perfectly fine.....they dont eat right away...starve them....they will eat
