I would say don't be afraid to go and try out. Be confident whenever you're playing because they like to see you really go for it. It may be intimidating your first audition but don't let it get to you. And if you think you have a shot, I wish you the best of luck.
im really interested in auditioning for this group, but im conflicted with goin for BDB or VC...not trying to say ill easily make either of those groups...but, i think i have a shot...but this would be my first audition, any tips with going through the process?
yea most of them got call backs for the SCV so they didnt go to the cadet corps auditions, connor was in the cymbal line last year but he's goin out for tenors this season
Yeah. I heard that almost everyone except from the girl snare from last year aged out from the A corps. Did you know how many were there trying out in the battery in December? I tried for snare for cadets last weekend, but got cut
there were around 50 i think that went out for snare for SCV, i dont remember how many age outs in the battery there were but i think it was a good amount, i was at the SCVC auditions last weekend too, im marching SCV but I had some people from my school going last weekend so I just went for them
Jeez. I guess now was the time to try out for the A corps, huh? I was tempted to try out for baritone as well, but seeing so many others compared to the rest of the brass section, I was a little intimidated. I was surprised that there were only five mellos at camp. Either way, I had a good time and hope to make the corps next year

Naw theres barley any vets, but thats what happened last year we had 74% rookies.
musicguy3172 1 year ago
Wow. They sounded pretty good last year. The only people I saw at auditions that came back were Kyle and the far right tenor.
