the white shorter slots commonly found on older computers is not pci-express
they are just PCI aka Peripheral Component Interconnect/interface The LARGER large pin slots on very old pcs were ISA slots. PCI-E is either very short compaired to pci white slot or longer than the pci slots (pci-e x1 and pci-e x16)
Exactly, but business would be ok with that. 1GB is...stupid. I don't mind the specs, since business won't use 80GB in storage (well, some departments), a C2D is enough, but 1GB is like...Lenovo's stupid side.
They make almost everything good, bu tthey got to leave a signature that they're stupid somewhere.
it depends on the version of vista youre using if youre using home premium or ultimate of course its gonna use a lot of ram with all that crap it has loaded by default
I used home premium x86. I had aero turned off, that saved some but I had SQL server express running though so that sort of evens things out a little.
Because not everyone wants 4GB of Ram 3 GTX280's and 4GHZ Overclocked quad cores and such. More people want a computer for basic funtions for web browsing, word processing and this is perfect for buisnesses so they can sell more
wtf are you on about there is a barrier between decent specs and cheap shit. This will get the job done in the slowest possible way. For the money I could build a much better system. I wouldn't even trust the cheapo hardware in this thing the HDD would probably die within a year and there goes all your work if you have not backed up. And if you want to pay for a backup drive than you could better spend that money on getting something decent that wont fail.
I can tell you are a linux user lol no rant intended.
But Lenovo ''its spelled'' does offer some great products but this junk just does not make the company appealing if some users see tons of this junk that has been popping up on computer tv it does not give a good impression on the company
8nVidiaGTX8: Sure sure. Would you be willing to build hundreds of PC's? The amount of time you'd spend building away would really cut in to a business' time to actually get work done.
You have to look at it from a business perspective, too. Not just a computing aspect.
I am looking at it from a computing aspect and it is very easy to biuld a computer. And annyways I was reffering to one computer for myself. If I had to buy hundreds of business computers I would buy something with reliable hardware good warranty and support such as a company as dell.
That's the point, you shouldn't look at it solely from a computing aspect. Businesses are usually very organised and time is one of the key elements they have at their disposal, they won't trade time for better hardware. Whilst this system isn't an amazing one businesses still buy pre-built ones as they don't have the time to get someone to build them good machines.
I think I know that and also when a business is going to store lots of data on it than it should at least have some reliable hardware that will induce the cost from failure rates and not to mention the cheap hdd that is some no brand crap which is likely going to have a very high failure rate. Even if they were to backup their data on every computer instead of using that money to buy back hdds they would be better of buying something reliable for inside those pc's.
They don't usually back their data up on every computer. If it's a big company they'd use servers, as each employee would have important data on each computer. If it's a smaller business they're more likely to use something along the lines of external hard drives.
Lenovo or IMB make good looking business computers. I don't know why but they seem durable not cheep looking. Some companies put useless things on them to make them sell more. If you know what i mean.

Ew. Needs more ram unless your running a really bad business, and a 80gig hardrive will be eaten in a number of days if you have small business.

The only thing that kills the most for a business PC is the gig of RAM. Why not 2? With 2 GB, that'll be a perfect business system.
lhuser 2 years ago
2GB is the minimum if you're using vista.
When I had vista, 700-800mb RAM usage was just Idle.

lenove isnt cheap shit, they're quality products, former manufacturer of IBM products.

First thing, I had a typo there, for god's sake you're not teaching me how to spell Lenovo.
I'm a Windows 7 user after 1 Year using Vista.
Users are given whichever hardware/sofware gets the job done. They are not given a quad core, gtx280 to play games and watch DVDs.
The only thing which could be improved for business use is to add another GB of RAM or downgrade to XP.
Lenovo is used vastly in the business environment. Beleive me, I work in this stuff, I know what i'm talking about.
