not gonna lie i like the way davy played at this age, the riffs and runs are a bit more standard but he sure rocked the shit out of this song.if i could take the thumb out of my bum i would put it up
Patty, this was on Cream's Disreali Gears in 1968. You GOTTA send it to Mickey. They bring do much life back to it and Davey knowles is so talented!!! He just Blows me away EVERY TIME! bACK DOOR SLAM WASHIS 1ST BAND - HE'S ONLY 23 YRS OLD. rEMEN=MBER 23??
Saw this dude about 2 years ago at the House of Blues in AC, NJ. He "opened" for Chickenfoot. I thought hisband stole the show. That gig he also had a great keyboard player and a different bass player. Amazing guitarist with a great bluesy voice!!!
You guys really play great together and since Im a drummer, I gotta say; Your drummer is smooth, has a great sense of time and plays some tasty riffs and they compliment the rest of the band. Cudo's to you young cats~~~
I got to meet Davy and what used to be his band mates in the summer of 2008. In fact he was playing that same '57 reissue, no effects other than a wah, and swapped out pickups. Davy has created a totally new and fresh blues sound. That youngster really gets his axe to bite into the music.
I got to meet them also! Great group of guys. Will never be the same though. He is still amazing but it was the charisma they had together that really made them even better.
I asked Davy back stage at wxpn exponential music festival after their set, about his gear ,he told me ...it was a '57 reissue ,and same color. If it's a '62 my bad. :P
the 57' doesn't come with a rosewood fret board, but its really no big deal what guitar it is, its a strat and i wanna see him play strats again. he really has a great tone with his prs through budda amps though.
Hummm... Let's see.... Yep, thumbs way up!

Um, I like these guys a lot from the first time I heard them, but to say they have "created a totally new and fresh blues sound?"
Um,..where?

did not know that. I do agree that he's got a tone with a petty basic set up,compared to some of the gear, John 5 for example, uses.
BTW fan of John 5 not a put down, every one has their own preferences.

To bad the Drummer & Bassist aren't in the band anymore.
Mostly because of how much Davy can rock on the guitar.
He's like Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, & BB King combined!

hkystnre, what a weird thing to say - what do you mean - is he too good for them, so they're jealous, or what? ?
fishnose1 2 years ago
No I am saying to bad they're not all together anymore. They were really good together when I heard them in Minneapolis!
I'm also saying that Davy is going to be a legend someday!

... with a large helping of SRV. (highest compliment from me!)

Davy Knowles is, in my humble opinion, the current blues-rock Strat god.
He's very young, yes. But he has all the chops, all the props. And, he is in complete command of his instrument.
Beautiful work.
