I agree actually. Infamous 2 was snubbed by most people who chose their GOTY. It easily rivals Portal 2, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, and Batman Arkham City.

There were so many good games in 2011 I can easily recommend about 20 games:

Uncharted 3, Infamous 2, Gears of War 3, Zelda Skyward Sword, Portal 2, Batman Arkham City, Pokemon B&W, Mario 3D, Saints Row, Rayman Origins, Dead Space, Skyrim, Resistance 3, Mortal Kombat, Deus Ex. All worth a buy.

Skyrim is a pretty good game like im sure every other videogame nominated for this thing, uncharted, batman, zelda etc But even though Skyrim was an amazing game, it still felt like it lacked in some way to deserve GOTY for Spike TV. It was repetitive with a couple of things but not to the point where you didnt want to play anymore. There's a load of gamebreaking glitches, and why is the horse riding so slow, so i think people are saying its better then it actually is. Still a great game though.

Besides the titans (those things took WAY to effing long to take down, especially on hard), I loved Infamous 2 and I am not personally not surprised it won. It was just an enjoyable game in my opinion. The gameplay was fast and fun, the story was pretty damn good. For me it was between Deus Ex, Uncharted 3, and InFamous 2. So I am happy to see that I was not the only person to very much enjoy InFamous 2.

I hated the first one, decided to pick it up 6 months later because I was bored and loved it. Then InFamous 2 came out and it ended up being one of my favourite games of all time. Right up there with Resident Evil 4, Super Double Dragons, Uncharted 3, Hitman Blood Money and God Of War 2.

You know, I actually can understand this choice totally. I mean, infamous 2 is a SUPER high quality game with very few flaws and is very memorable and all that so I can definitely see it taking the cake.
