  • this is exactly my problem. I have been told for years, if you swing too much from the inside, you will always hook. Not true! My divots point way to the right, and it makes it impossible to close the club face.

  • Totally disagree with what he said as far as the club coming from that far in the inside " the ball is always going to go to the right ".

Not so, the club is being redirected, the hands catch up ( as they always do ) and the result will be in many instances a pull or a snap hook caused by a closed face at impact.

No question that can cause a push / blocked shot as Harmon says but the probability of coming into the impact area with a closed face is just high thus causing a hook.

  • What do u do if your hitting push slices?

  • so...i can't hit a slice with an in to out swing?

  • @dschultz6072 you can hit a slice with a on plane swing whenever the swingpath lets say the swingpath is a alignment stick and so is the clubface. The clubface determines the start of the ball and the swingpath creates the curve of the ball. So whenever your swingpath is more left in relation to where your clubface so the swingpath is left and the clubface is more right of the swingpath the ball is gonna curve to the right but this is a push slice.

  • Gonna try this today. Looks like good instruction to me, though
