im trying to fix my friends one that she got for christmas now, as soon as you load it up the android OS (operating system) crashes, is the any ways to completely reinstall and whipe the tablet?

after searching if i can renew / reset the software the is no way too, i have also looked inside the tablet to see if anything was incorrectly connected etc, and the wasnt the worst of it, the wiring inside is atroshus, i swear to god a 3 year old could of done a better job, also the screwes holding it together are screws ment for wood, the only thing the "reset" button does is turn it on and off, worst tablet ive seen wouldnt even give it a 1/5 rating.

The archos 7-7c is out of production and is no longer supported or sold by archos for almost 2 years. The A70 is vastly superior and affordable now that the A80 is out. The A7 was never a contender next to the A70

I have the newer Archos 7 Home Tablet A70BHT and there is no way to play YouTube videos on it. The flash player still does not work.

The vidoe palyer last close to 4 hours NOT 7 hrs.

I bought this to work out in the gym. I definatelry need a tablet to play videos passed 4 hours.

I paided $122 on Tiger Direct. This tablet needs to play YouTube videos.

As it stands, I have to download, save in an Quick Time format

The touch screen is TERRIBLE! Really, it is so bad. You sometimes press the "z" key on the keyboard, and it manages to register that as pressing the soft menu button (top right). I am dead serious. I do have to say, it seems unbrickable with flashing! I now have Android 2.2 on it, no flash, but it's now got the market, and way more features!

People buy the ipad because it works the way it is advertised. I had this archos and its junk. Even the 300 archos is junk. Archos makes lots of claims but never comes through with them. The only thing that the Archos brand does well is video playback and audio playback. Get a 4g ipod touch. Even though you have to convert videos and use itunes, you have access to thousands of apps that work and two decent cameras that work with skype. Downside is small screen size.

I'm sorry, but multitouch is just 10 times fucking easier to have, it's also a great display of how technology is moving forward...

for that reason alone and for the fact that they'll ALWAYS be ahead in the Market, I can't say no to Apple with the ipad.

Cons: No Flash Support, Battery fried only after 3 days of use, Touchscreen sux

Pros: Custom Rom Flashed and Rooted, thats about it.

I had to contact my dad about getting a return issued from amazon. I'am going to just get a samsung galaxy or a epad zenithink.

Oh I'm grateful for what I recieved. It has already been returned to amazon. My dad just gave me a new dell mini 1012 netbook. The archos 7ht has a capacitive screen, does not rotate. Even with a custom rom loaded it was still sluggish. Archos did not even make this model, they just slapped their name on it. Most archos products are A+++, but this model just is not. If you want a archos, just get the 70, or 9 models.

You can load a custom rom and root it. Then get a YouTube.apk, but you cant view full screen and the regular is only 1/4 of the corner of the screen.

Question I didn't get this yet but it's on it's way. Im a general user of stuff like this I will use for Internet browsing mainly maybe videos music same crap I do on iPhone but that's bigger and easier to use sitting round the house. Is it worth it ?

There is no natural Flash support. You cannot watch youtube, but you can watch vimeo in full screen. Your best bet is to get a the archos 70,9, or a samsung galaxy tab.

People need to do their own research before commenting that this is bad because of the market place. You can side load ANY app you want. Also, people need to actually TRY to play flash or find alternatives before saying it doesn't work.
