But regardless, when somebody charges the mound, who comes out of nowhere and tackles the batter? The catcher, because he comes from behind. That's why he took him out first.

This is lame. The MLB must have no problem with bench clearing brawls. If they did they would do what the NHL did in the 1980's and give the first player of the bench from each side 10 games and the coach 10 games mandatory then suspend them more if needed. The MLB will NEVER do this

In cricket there are absolutely no fights ever (although perhaps this is partly because the bowler is allowed to bowl at the batsman).

Where batters get beaned, is this always deliberate? The batters always seem to think so.

No it is not always deliberate. There are certainly times when it is deliberate but sometimes it's just the pitcher trying to get in on a batter, and it gets a little too far in. Hitters always seem to take too much offense by it now days. It didn't used to be like that but now everyone has an ego and the days of throwing inside on hitters are over.

I do also wonder whether the amount of money in baseball turns some of them into prima donnas. It's happened to football in Europe as well sadly.
