Those people who seriously blame Yoko for breaking up The Beatles don't know a thing about love, haven't done their homework, or are sub-consciously racist and sexist.
The Beatles were 4 individuals who grew up together, revolutionized music, had a lot of fan pressure on them to be "mythical figures", and they all helped each other find their own unique voices. When an artist finally comes into his own, the artist does not want to compromise. It's the natural flow of creativity.

Read the Beatle bio (1000 pages) for the real reason. There is no blame on who or why they broke up. It was THEIR choice not to continue. Phenomenons just don't have a huge life span. It happens over and over through history. With Abbey Road they went out on top. We're lucky we had them them as long as we did. Stop over analyzing why and just enjoy their music.

If she "broke up" the Beatles, it had more to do with everyone's positions on the conflict in Vietnam and other things that ultimately did them in. Take Forrest Gump for example. In the movie, on Dick Cavett's show, I think he saw John Lennon as being more spiteful in his mocking what little the people in China had than in appreciating what they did despite their Maoist situation. I have conservative friends who act the same way. Its appears patronizing for someone to agree but act neurotic.
Their argument is a bit flawed, John did cause the breakup indirectly because of Yoko... John became so obsessed with her and his behavior became so strange that it added to the stress that was already there and made it much worse. This contributed to many more arguments and much less cohesion between the members,which could have made the difference between whether they can work together or not. So Yoko was not the sole reason, but she was a big part of the recipee for their failure!

I admit, Sean seems a little like he might be gay, but take into consideration that he was raised pretty much by his mother since he was five years old. And the time he was with his father, was during John's "house-husband" phase. The poor boy must be confused as hell....

Tie that all together with business practice differences/choices and boom.

Nice point Sean makes about the whole "Yoko broke up the Beatles" thing. I've grown to appreciate and love Yoko Ono. Her existence is a direct link, and the closest thing us Lennon/Beatles fans have to John Lennon. Sean looks so much like his dad. I seriously love both of them very much.
Yoko was the nail in the coffin. At the end of the day, the Beatles broke up because of the conflicting egos of John and Paul. Both wanted things to be done his own way. And just when tensions were at an all time high John brought Yoko into the rehearsal space and studio. That was breaking a long time rule of "No significant others in the work area". Yoko was the nail in the coffin.
I really like Yoko. Sean is different...I would think Sean would make a really neat artist, he seems to think in a very abstract manner. But I have tremendous respect for Yoko. Not only because she was the one that John loved, but also as far as how she does things to keep his spirit alive.
There is a small part of me that wished that Sean was more like John, but I think it is very sweet that he is a lot like his mother. You know, very reserved and proud.
And plus, Julian's enough like John, so that satisfies me. :D

Read books on the background from people who knew them & even Yoko's book. You will find that Yoko was manipulative & played mind games w/John. She was using him to promote a career for herself. Yoko is a complete nut. I am not a huge beatles fan but I have read quite a bit about the Yoko story because I was really curious. She cheated on John, left him then came back after she realized she couldn't make it on her own. Her dominance over John & strong arm tactics are what broke up the Beatles.
To me, the whole "Yoko broke up the Beatles" thing is silly. It's a simple answer to a complex problem. John had been looking for an excuse to get out of the Beatles since they'd stopped touring. They would've eventually broken up anyway. That many creative personalities weren't going to coexist forever.

Julian has recently recorded the song Lucy but that was with someone called James Scott Cook, not Sean. Although they are in contact with eachother, and there is a truce between Julian and Yoko, she has a lot of involment in her son's music and Julian seems to cut a wide berth around all things Yoko. It would be wonderful if they, Jules and Sean, did record together but I just don't see it happening while Yoko is still alive. She's done a lot of awful things to Julian.

Nice point Sean makes about the whole "Yoko broke up the Beatles" thing. I've grown to appreciate and love Yoko Ono. Her existence is a direct link, and the closest thing us Lennon/Beatles fans have to John Lennon. Sean looks so much like his dad. I seriously love both of them very much.

Yoko was the nail in the coffin. At the end of the day, the Beatles broke up because of the conflicting egos of John and Paul. Both wanted things to be done his own way. And just when tensions were at an all time high John brought Yoko into the rehearsal space and studio. That was breaking a long time rule of "No significant others in the work area". Yoko was the nail in the coffin.

I really like Yoko. Sean is different...I would think Sean would make a really neat artist, he seems to think in a very abstract manner. But I have tremendous respect for Yoko. Not only because she was the one that John loved, but also as far as how she does things to keep his spirit alive.

Well Sean's comparison isn't really anything like what really happened. Also the View has changed some hosts from time to time and it hasnt been a big deal... you could not do the same for the Beatles. Not that I really expect any intellectual or logical thought process from the women on the View, but the comments about Yoko being innocent are quite naive & short sided & possibly sexist. I think its sick for them to praise a woman who mentally abused & tormented John & pretend like nothing happened. When Yoko left John, John was finally able to reconcile with his friends & family. With Yoko out of the way, John was able to get reacquainted with his son from his first marriage.

Read books on the background from people who knew them & even Yoko's book. You will find that Yoko was manipulative & played mind games w/John. She was using him to promote a career for herself. Yoko is a complete nut. I am not a huge beatles fan but I have read quite a bit about the Yoko story because I was really curious. She cheated on John, left him then came back after she realized she couldn't make it on her own. Her dominance over John & strong arm tactics are what broke up the Beatles.

To me, the whole "Yoko broke up the Beatles" thing is silly. It's a simple answer to a complex problem. John had been looking for an excuse to get out of the Beatles since they'd stopped touring. They would've eventually broken up anyway. That many creative personalities weren't going to coexist forever.

They very well could have released another album, maybe even two if she had not been in the picture. Imagine the wonders of music that would have been!

John Lennon made the beatles break up because of the death of brian epstein (their manager)... in august 1967, he died in india, leading the beatles to signing a 10 year continual contract, stating that they have to stay as a band for 10 years until 1977. but unfortunately in april 1970, john lennon didnt follow the contract, making him break up the band. so after, paul mccartney sues john, george, and ringo for the violation of the contract.

Well, Sean wasn't there, then, of course, but the conversation they should have had was, What if 1 of them married some guy that they didn't like and he came & sat next to her, on the View, even tho he wasn't part of the cast!? Because that is what really happened & all these ladies are old enough to remember that (w/the exception of maybe Sherri) While she wasn't the only reason the Beatles broke up, she certainly contributed. :-)

The View cast is kissing Yoko's ass, just as Sean is doing to them. That show is light tv, not thought provoking in the least and the only reason anybody goes on there is to promote something they have out in the media. Yoko and Sean are promoting her "music" (using the term lightly!) and nothing else.

Julian has recently recorded the song Lucy but that was with someone called James Scott Cook, not Sean. Although they are in contact with eachother, and there is a truce between Julian and Yoko, she has a lot of involment in her son's music and Julian seems to cut a wide berth around all things Yoko. It would be wonderful if they, Jules and Sean, did record together but I just don't see it happening while Yoko is still alive. She's done a lot of awful things to Julian.

Sean is, actually, an amazing musician. His style (lo-fi confessional singer-songwriter), though, is very different from his father's and from Julian's. It's pointless to make simplistic comparisons like "He's no Julian!" and "He's just copying his dad!"
Would he be cleaning bedpans if he had another last name? I dont know, would Conor Oberst or Ray LaMontagne? Would Elliott Smith have? The name isn't as important as the fact that he's intelligent and sensitive. Just like all good songwriters.

He stopped everything FOR HER and SHE changed his way of thinking (and I'm not saying that is a bad thing because she did have some great ideas regarding humanity and mankind)...just my take from the outside looking in and a totally different generation :)
