@1Nashmil and all you other GM haters.... GM won the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship Finals and AHSA Hunt Seat Equitation Medal Final at the age of 14. Can you do that!?
In spite of being such a handful, George always gives this horse a full release over the fence. His handling of the horse through the triple was excellent.
IM LOLING ALL OVER THE PLACE AT WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING. its George FUCKING MORRIS you can't critic the Olympic coach. Hes OWNING That horse, I WOULD BE SCARED SHITLESS IN HIS SITUATION AND YOU WOULD TOO. BUT THAT HORSE IS INFRONT OF HIS LEG LIKE NOTHING ELSE AND GEORGE MORRIS IS NOT BEING A PUSSY ABOUT IT. GROW A PAIR
he's great! that horse is hot and it knows how to take fences. I believe George let the horse do what he was in the ring for, jump its heart out. To win you have to have great time and very little or no faults which deducts yor time. He took a gamble with Brussels and I see why
While this mare maybe feisty and difficult to ride, that could have been diffused by proper training. A mare like that needed more training before competing at this level. I'm disappointed that this is what GM used to ride like.
@cocomango5189 If no one cares then why did you reply to my comment? Haha. Anyway, I wasn't trying to bash George Morris. I have immense respect for him as horseman and quite frequently watch videos of his clinics. But I find him to be a quieter rider now. Possibly because of his older age, or possibly because the horses of today are calmer than the TB's of before. Who knows? I just don't think this video gives his older riding justice.
I'm sure he is a better rider than all of us though! He is trying to control his horse, he knows they can jump it, but you can tell the horse is being very strong and "hot" and George is keeping him in front of his leg and controlling him!
I love it when people run their mouths on the internet to validate themselves... this seems to be a recurring theme with you, hmm, jumpergurl? I hate to be snarky, but there's no way you would perform as well as the people you criticize. And hey, you may be a great rider and a great person, but you aren't winning yourself credibility by blatting. Cut it out.
Whoa! You could tell the minute the horse swung his haunches in and fought @ the first transition for canter, that things weren't looking 100%. And then he knocked rails everywhere...wow!! What a difference from the George today, although things were a LOT different 20 years ago!!
He took all the verticals without a though of collecting...you can tell the horse struggled. Wow!
@jumpergurl4190 Really. You're criticizing one of the single GREATEST riders of our time. Really? The only thing I can say is that you are an idiot. I would NEVER critique the riding of any person that has been to the OLYMPICS. And its GEORGE MORRIS. You are unbelievable.
crazy fucking horse

jumping is completely different then equitation! it doesn't matter how your position is as long as you clear all the fences and get a nice time!!
