  • As I have understood, we have mirror neurons in our inferior parietal lobule which encode action and embodyment. We also have mirror neurons in the ventral premotor area which encode being prepared to perform that action. Humans also have mirror neurons in the insula which give a reflection of the interoception.

The inferior parietal lobule is close to Wernickes area and the ventral premotor area is close to Brocas area. We imitate both the speach of other individuals and their kinesthetics.

  • @ZAURUZ14d hello child rapist

  • I heard Ramachandran talking about mirror neurons on a short tedtalk and got really interested on them. I summarized and reacted to this episode in my blog, Intellectual Pursuit. You can read the entry in wordpress.

  • try looking yourself in the mirror while on psilocybin...it will scare the shit out of you -.-

  • I already knew this, even before scientist discover it. Jesus spoke of this, and it's all over the OT. If scientist would only read their bible.

  • This is so epic! Revolution in neurosciences!

  • This adds a new (neurological) dimention to the saying; "see one, do one, teach one"

  • And suddenly everyone understands why the porn industry is doing so well.

  • @uchihaaddiction Hell Yeah !!!

  • @uchihaaddiction LOL I saw this on a friends facebook page and said the exact same thing.

  • This is so great - I work with someone who does Body reading and Human decoding (thomas hertlein) and it's like turning the scientific part into daily understanding of the human being. Thanks

  • This is amazingly interesting! I am working with someone (Thomas Hertlein) who does body reading and human decoding. It's like consciously training how to understand the brain and mirror neurons in normal life situations. Thanks

  • mirror neurons!

  • why just humans, why you always talk about just humans?! wtf superior animals have MN's too! they were discovered in monkeys!!!!!!!

  • this video is really great, when i first watched this i was sure i wanted to base my degree project around the concept of mirror neurons and music.....but there just isnt enough concrete evidence which suggests that mirror neurons are present within the human brain

  • i have to prepare a neurophisiology class and this material is just incredible

  • this is a really good video for revision purposes, instead of trying to understand the concept on paper rather you can watch an interesting video

  • people's face when he carrying boxes... haha nice one !!

  • monkey see, monkey do. (not all analogies to monkeys are racist in nature)
