@TheRationalDude You are right about this part, but still, K-POP is taking top places on the charts in Japan. Don't get me wrong, I love JP/KR POP and Rock, but I'm just stating fact. Far as my assumption, group like SNSD was influenced by Morning Musume in Japan, but when people compare the two, I've seen more favors towards SNSD. In the end there are mix of good and bad for both countries when it comes to music, just like anywhere else. All down to preferences.

@SinnerJ Yes, Kpop occasionaly charts oricon (which I follow weekly..it is not everysingle day like some kpop fans claim..in fact the ancient enka music was just #1 a few weeks ago showing how diverse japanese music is)..but so does chinese music, american music and even filipino music...while Korea has a closed market and rarely cares about any other asian country and constantly brag about how they are superior. Also alot of K-pop music is directed by american producers..with japanese labels.

@SinnerJ BTW that actually brings up a big point that kpop fans/korean nationalists tend to overlook. The overwhelming majority of korean music's profits are made in Japan! In other words K-pop is catered to japanese, which is natural when 60-75% of profits are made there..in other words one could argue that k-pop is essentially a japanese catered/influenced music. Though I won't personally argue that, k-pop to me is the asian version of american music.

"Kpop is popular worldwide blah, blah, blah" yeah, but people need to realize how it got so big in the first place. Give credit where credit is due.
