Truly a beautiful, compelling speech. If you've not already done so, I highly recommend reading Rabbi Schmuley Boteach's second book, Honoring the Child Spirit. It's the book Michael speaks to in this speech. It brings to life his beautiful, childlike nature and why he CHOSE to live a child-like life. If every father would model just a few of his loving qualities, we would heal the world because we'd heal our children! You are f o r e v e r Michael!
MJ gave such a beautiful speech. I wish more people would listen to it n put it into action. It just sucks that Rabbi Schmuley ended up stealing money from MJ's Heal the World Foundation, and he was the President of the organization.Ppl loved trying to play MJ for a fool and it breaks my heart...sigh. The sites bashing MJ have so many hits and while I am not saying he's perfect I just think it's very telling that people love to view those vids rather then do actual digging and listen to vids like this. Why are people so very afraid to give MJ the benefit of the doubt? I think it's because once we realise that he was truly this nice of a person most of us know that we behave like a-holes. When you're a kid, all you want to do is be a grown-up. When you're an adult, all you want to be is a kid. Man, nine was the best year of my life. I didn't have a clue about anything. At 10, all the magic goes away. This reminds me of the book ''Reviving Ophelia'' which discusses the effects of the media on teen girls.
His soft spoken decent voice is a cure for lots of people. He speaks with such beautiful phrases......he was a very very intelligent, sensitive man. Serious but funny sometimes too! He was relaxed here, you can hear but most of all FEEL it, when you open yourself for this Man.

There was footage of the speech on youtube, I saw it some months ago - where did it go? Michael had considerable brains, that's why he is loved so much by a lot of people, its not just because of his outstanding musical abilities. He was a deep thinker too.
Oh Christ. The last 2 min of this part of the speech...which I've never heard before, displayed succinctly something I've never been able to articulate, but something that I've always...always known. Hot damn.
It's so true... I didn't have childhood either... My parents abused all of us (5) we sleept on the floor in one room, starving, being constanly beaten and humiliated... I grew up and I thought I'm the worst and the ugliest person alive. So did my brother and my three sisters...

@monica46005 I guess he and Schmuley fell out before they finished it. Schmuley's book on MJ that's coming out now looks interesting. And MJ's autobiography "Moonwalk" is good, if a bit dry (he was more a poetry guy than a prose guy, but his life's an interesting story any which way).
is it just me or does michael sound like he has a slight lisp here? it might just be the quality of the audio though. like in the other upload of the oxford speech his voice is higher pitched, but in this one he sounds deeper.

That book of Schmuley's was always supposed to be about children, not about Michael supposedly gaining back the affections of the public. Like so many, Shmuley betrayed Michael's trust and beauty.

No, that book was never written or published. Shmuley recently published a book called "The Michael Jackson Tapes," which contains the intimate conversations they had that were originally going to be the basis of their book about children, etc.
When you would think there's nothing more Michael could give, you bump again and again into speeches like this and you realise this man is full of surprises, he is so intelligent and wise and such a great soul that adds to his genius as an entertainer.

Michael was about love and magic. Those who are not such heart-centered human beings cannot open themselves to him. Let them be. Yes Michael went through a tough life..but he himself said he wouldnt change a thing about his life....Im more than sure if he could, he would come back and go through it all again. Me too ..twilightlullaby. Years ago, ..I defended MJ regardless of consequence. I lost friends ..(well, ..a few acquaintances). People around me were very condesending and told me I was stupid and naive. I stood my ground and now feel proud as at the time I said,.. "in the future you will know. What Michael is saying inspires me to be a good father. I mean I see fathers who never do anything for their kids, they dont play with them or even care for them. But, it takes a true father to come home from a hard day of work and play or ask his kids how their day was. I mean I have seen awful fathers personally and have heard of ones like Joe Jackson who used to hurt Michael all the time. Yet, When I see Michael and people like Steve Irwin being good fathers, it gives me so much optimism.

There was footage of the speech on youtube, I saw it some months ago - where did it go? Michael had considerable brains, that's why he is loved so much by a lot of people, its not just because of his outstanding musical abilities. He was a deep thinker too.

@monica46005 I guess he and Schmuley fell out before they finished it. Schmuley's book on MJ that's coming out now looks interesting. And MJ's autobiography "Moonwalk" is good, if a bit dry (he was more a poetry guy than a prose guy, but his life's an interesting story any which way).

is it just me or does michael sound like he has a slight lisp here? it might just be the quality of the audio though. like in the other upload of the oxford speech his voice is higher pitched, but in this one he sounds deeper.

So the book that Schmuley promised Michael that he would write was about "Childlike qualities" NOT and EXPOSE about Michael Jackson. This is proof that Schmuley is a liar and a thief. No, that book was never written or published. Shmuley recently published a book called "The Michael Jackson Tapes," which contains the intimate conversations they had that were originally going to be the basis of their book about children, etc.

Michael was about love and magic. Those who are not such heart-centered human beings cannot open themselves to him. Let them be. MJ experienced so much pain for how he was treated, yet, he remained soft-spoken, kind and giving. Instead of lashing out, he put the energy of anger into some activist songs. So, lets focus proactively on what we CAN do to further MJs legacy and not dirty ourselves with the filth of heart/soul-less humans. God/Allah knows

How could so many of us take him for granted whilst he was still here, so full of love for everybody ? He had so much pain and loneliness in his life, but he always managed to help others. For me, he was the essence of a true humanitarian, in every sense of the word.

Yes Michael went through a tough life..but he himself said he wouldnt change a thing about his life....Im more than sure if he could, he would come back and go through it all again. All the pain and all the sadness. He loved his life, by being the celebrity figure that he was, enabled him to be the humanitarian that he was. Me too ..twilightlullaby. Years ago, ..I defended MJ regardless of consequence. I lost friends ..(well, ..a few acquaintances). People around me were very condesending and told me I was stupid and naive. I stood my ground and now feel proud as at the time I said,.. "in the future you will know. The truth will eventually be revealed...". Although I never thought it would for the most part, ..be the result of MJ's death. :(

What Michael is saying inspires me to be a good father. I mean I see fathers who never do anything for their kids, they dont play with them or even care for them. But, it takes a true father to come home from a hard day of work and play or ask his kids how their day was. I mean I have seen awful fathers personally and have heard of ones like Joe Jackson who used to hurt Michael all the time. Yet, When I see Michael and people like Steve Irwin being good fathers, it gives me so much optimism.
